I know its been months 😭 but I've finally got enough work done on a Fresh Animations x Mob Overhaul pack for a trial version! Its available for early access on my pateron for feedback on bug fixes and glitches. I'm planning on getting a full version done by next week, so stay tuned!

question! does your texture pack work with sodium/iris shaders? id really like to use your resource pack but i play almost completely on fabric.
Yes! You have to use mods ETF and EMF which emulates optifines features, but they work pretty well!

The pack is finally done! Finishing up with the sniffer and camel, every mob now has a new redesign and textures. Honestly hard to believe I got this done in over 3 months when my overhaul last pack took me over a year, I've really grown as an artist 😭. As this is the kind of official release updates will slow down a bit, but more features are still on the way like pateron exclusive fancy skins!
Also I want to do more HD renders of all my designs so stay tuned for those!
Gray's CASM Mobs REDUX Beta is here!
A revamp of my old Overhaul pack is underway! New models and textures, better optimization, as well as redesigns and returning classics! Beta 1.0 is here with 32 new remodels, 19 being only attainable in this beta! The pack is about 50% completion, not counting additional features.
Figured that while it's being worked on, I could use some feedback for any bugs or designs features instead of rushing to fix them on official release :}

Looking at this model really makes me think that, well I agree the mob feels off compared to others: less minecrafty and more detailed, I don't think its a bad thing at all.
I'm pretty inclined to believe these are the kind of mobs Mojang wants to make but is really held back by the limitations the game already has set for them. It's been a pretty big discussion with all the new mobs released with fancy new animations and mechanics that they should go back and redo the early mobs that don't really match the news mob at all anymore. But they just can never do that because the old mobs are too iconic, I mean the change of zombie pigmen to piglins was a huge upgrade in terms of design and people were still resistant to it.
Just look at the sheep compared to goats
Could you image how good the old mobs could look! Ah an old minecrafter can only dream 😔
Anyway rant over. TLDR; the sniffer is not that bad, just makes me sad that sheep still look ugly (this wasn't supposed to get this many notes for me rambling at 2am)

The legs each have there own UV space despite them all being the same texture repeating (they do this for a lot of models but it's still a waste of UV space most of the time)
Also fun fact the way they get the sneef to snorf is by applying a scale modifier to e x p a n d the nose cube

The body is split into three parts to give the moss(?) and fur a more 3d feel but the last part in just a texture to cover the underneath, but they didn't do the same effect on the head?
The head is only two parts, and they made the beak small instead of making it the base of the head and adding the fur on top

(The ghast has a modifier that makes it bigger in game but thats its model size)
To be fair, the ghast was made almost 10 years ago so I doubt they want to make up-scaled models like that anymore, but still strange

the first thing that threw me off was the uv map size
192x is a very odd size and explains why the texture feels way more detailed then other mobs. FYI It's pretty common for most mobs to have between 32x and 64x UVs and bigger mobs like ravagers having 128x and the enderdragon (the biggest mob) has the biggest UV of 256.
It's just a strange choice because it's not evenly dividable by 64, like all the other textures. Like for comparison ghasts have a UV map of 64 and has a really small texture despite being twice the size of the sniffer. And it's the ONLY texture in that UV
