sometimes i think of people i haven't seen in a long time and i realize i will probably never see them again. it makes me sad at first, but then i wonder if it's really that sad. maybe it's enough to just be thinking of them? maybe there is something special in the fact that we all can remember people we will never see again. maybe they are never really gone. and before you know it, i'm thinking "everything is interwoven, and the web is holy” and then of course i wind up reading Walt Whitman's On the Beach at Night Alone
