rainafms​:

     raina’s lips spread into a smile, and she steps closer to him as he wraps her arms around her, head resting on his chest for a moment. it’s bittersweet, their last party together at gallagher, but she’s more excited for what their futures hold. his comment makes her laugh, looking up at him with her head tilted slightly. “careful, mr. donovan. keep it up, and we’ll have to leave our last gallagher event early.”

“technically,” he said, pausing slightly. “our last gallagher event will be our graduation tomorrow.” cal smiles down at her almost teasingly. almost, because he was being completely serious about this being their second to last event, and he wouldn’t mind too much to leave if it got them alone. “but maybe i can wait a tiny bit longer to allow you to enjoy all this,” he teased, gesturing to the party around them. 

oflaughter​:

“Nope. I like being able to just have a relaxing evening for once. In recent months there’s been way too much stress. So I am just content with standing here in silence” he said and nodded. Maybe that seemed odd but then again when had he ever been what people considered normal? “So she is a showstopper then?” Amado asked, arching a single brow. 

“i can drink to that,” cal laughs, raising his glass despite the fact that it was most definitely water and not anything more exciting than that. he didn’t want to be hungover for graduation, and it wasn’t like he was that much of a drinker to begin with. “she’s... breathtaking,” he tells him, because why lie? he was absolutely blown away from his girl. he always was. 

parkerbrandt​:

“Yeah, you’re right,” Parker laughed, “I’m imagining them reading her some sort of NDA at every free moment. Beyonce definitely can’t post anything about this show on her social media.” Pour one out for that loss. “Are you having fun?”

“you sure that beyonce isn’t the one that’s making us sign an nda?” he asked, chuckling softly. it seemed like something a celebrity would do, but then again, how would anyone be able to hide the fact that beyonce performed for them when social media exists? “yeah,” he admits, nodding his head. “what about you?” he gestured to parker with his drink. 

ofclaires​:

– CLAIRE’S SURPRISED AT CAL’S AMOUNT OF FORETHOUGHT – surprising for a man and a man with cal’s genetics. he looks more uncomfortable than anything, which claire supposes makes two of them. “ alright. my mom’s mostly good, i mean, she’s in a good place, so. i just don’t want anything… ” to set her back. still, she’s glad for the slight change of topic and grabs hold, a faint smile on her lips, “ oh, makes sense, has she met raina before ? ” 

“i get it,” he tells her, nodding his head. because he understands. at least, he’s trying to. what happened was unbearably harder on claire and maggie than it had been on him, and he was trying to sympathize the best that he could. “yes,” he admits. “i went to raina’s moms house for christmas, and they were nice enough to invite her too. i think the questions will mainly be about atlanta.” he paused for a moment. “raina and i are moving there.”

“I almost recognize myself,” she admitted with a light chuckle under her breath. The tight-fitting long metallic gown was far anything that she had ever worn before. But when at Gallagher right? “Yeah I am,” Carmen replied though her smile was a little sad. “You and Raina dancing the night away?”

“she’s enjoying herself. that’s all that matters to me,” he tells her, shrugging in nonchalance. “but she’s now off with faith somewhere, so i have a break.” pausing a moment, he offered his friend his hand. “care to dance instead?” he asked, a smile on his face.

     raina lets out a soft laugh when callum replies, at least he doesn’t think it’s too much. “oh, no. i just think i’m not used to all this,” she says, looking down at the dress that faith had picked. her hands go up and rest on his shoulders. “no, i’m okay,” she replies shaking her head as she smiles up at him. “plus you look so good in it, i don’t think i could take it away from you.”

cal’s eyes ran down her again, following the track of her hands, and he brings his gaze back up only when she places her hands on his shoulders. he was going to have a difficult time looking anywhere but at her tonight. “just say the word,” he tells her, smiling back at her. he wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. his voice dropped low enough that she would be the only one to hear. “i’m hoping i won’t have to wear it for long,” he teased.

parkerbrandt​:

“It’s nice of you to be considerate about it though, most people aren’t.” He gave it another thirty minutes or so before everyone was sliding straight towards the bottom. “The alumni definitely don’t,” he laughed, “Maybe they do, I haven’t actually seen a professor. Did you spot Sutton yet?”

he shook his head. “no,” he admitted, before letting himself think. “she’s probably with the entertainment. who better to protect beyonce than the president of a spy school?” he asked, laughing softly. 

rizosguin​:

         “oh no, that’s totally valid. plus they’re fun party songs that almost everybody can dance to!” rizo loves those and more, he loved being the life of the party after all. he grins at callum and moves to pat him on the back. “you bet i am! you wanna join me? i bet we’d make a good dancing pair! we’ll even wait for the cupid shuffle if you like.”

“you’re not wrong,” cal said, laughing, amused that he felt almost validated by rizo’s opinion on his favorite party songs. he hesitated a moment, looking out at the floor before he moved his gaze back to the other. “i don’t know. the only dancing i ever do is swaying side to side with raina,” he teased. “but if cotton eyed joe comes on, i’m your guy.”

– CLAIRE TENSES SLIGHTLY, just the way callum uses her mother’s first name so casually brings her back to a time she doesn’t like, a version of herself she’d rather forget. “ yeah, she is, ” she doesn’t meet cal’s eyes, “ her flight actually gets in early tomorrow, you know her…always cutting it close. ” she takes a deep breath. the last thing she wants is family drama or awkwardness tomorrow, which is such a trivial way of boiling down that happened to them.

cal curses himself slightly, noting claire’s tension at the mention of his former step-mother. he let out a breath and reached up to ruffle his curls slightly, something he found he did when he felt nervous. “yeah,” he agreed, laughing softly under his breath. “i spoke with my mother. placed boundaries. she’s not going to make you or maggie feel uncomfortable.” at least, callum hoped. if anything, he would make sure that his mother avoided her at all costs. “if anything, she’s just going to bombard raina’s mothers with nonstop questions.”

“The time of my life” Amado replied as he looked at Callum, smiling back at him. “They really do” he clasped his hands behind his back, nodding slowly. “But then again with the year we all have had here at Gallagher, I think it’s perfect to end it all with a bang” he then nudged the other. “So have you seen your girlfriend yet?”

“that seems like bullshit to me,” he pointed out, chuckling under his breath. he knew that his roommate hadn’t come with anyone. he wondered what he could do to help. “i agree.” he nodded in earnest. smiling knowingly, and with a slight blush, he nodded again. “i have,” he tells him. “and i was right. faith did help. and i owe her a big thank you.” raina was always beautiful, but tonight? she was stunning, almost heart-stopping. 

parkerbrandt​:

Parker laughed, “That was pretty good, you make it sound really convincing.” The most important job all night. “Chances are they probably won’t even notice, after a certain point in drinking, things stop hurting.” Emotionally and physically. “Yeah, you’re not wrong, I’m trying to spot the professors that are also getting drunk. Who could blame Sutton if she wanted to let loose?” 

cal nodded his head, understanding his logic. “touche,” he said, laughing softly at the sentiment. he himself rarely drunk to excess, finding that he hated the feeling of it and refrained from overly consuming. “i think that our professors have more self control than that,” he pointed out. “especially our president. but maybe she will have an extra drink or two in honor of the graduating class.”

     “i think this is the most i’ve ever seen you dress up,” rafa says with a wide smile. “you really saved the last one to go all out?”

cal looked down at himself and up to rafa, a soft blush flushing over his skin at his friend’s compliment. “it was just... something i had,” he confessed with a light laugh. “i thought since raina was wearing red, i should probably match.”

     “so i let faith choose my clothes,” raina says she approaches her boyfriend, and she definitely notices how good he looks. “i kinda think i’m regretting it.”

“remind me to thank her,” he said, unable to help as his eyes dipped and he watched her walk toward him. cal’s gaze met hers quickly with her admission, and his brows furrowed. “are you uncomfortable?” he asked, hands moving to her waist. “want my jacket?” he would happily let her wear it if need be. 

“i need you to be honest with me,” cal said as he looked out to the crowd, holding a cup of water in his hands and staring at the throngs of classmates and alumni that had grouped around them. “is it bad that the only song i know from beyonce is the one about single ladies?” he asked, glancing at luc and giving him a smile that was definitely more than a grimace. // @oofluc

“having fun?” he asked, smiling at his roommate before he gestured to the room around them. “they really outdo themselves each time.” he took a sip of water and looked for his girlfriend, finding her quite quickly, seeing her standing with faith. happy to have placed her, he glanced back at amado. // @oflaughter​

“i don’t really dance,” cal confessed, though he was sure that just by looking at him, anyone could figure it out. “the only dances i know how to do are the ones that tell you in the song. you know, like the cupid shuffle.” he chuckled softly, licking his lips and biting down on his lower one and sighing. “what about you?” he asked, looking over at rizo. “gonna dance?” // @rizosguin​

“so, uh,” cal paused, looking down at his feet for a short moment before looking back at claire, offering the other a (quite awkward) smile. “is maggie coming to graduation?” he asked, hoping that he would be able to see claire’s mom, but knowing that it might be awkward, especially with his own mother coming as well. “my mom came in tonight. she’s staying in roseville.” // @ofclaires​
