I haven't purchased a HP item in close to a decade - I use the books I already had as doorstops or to prop a laptop up for meetings nowadays.
There is NO "death of the author" with JK Rowling - she controls and continues to profit from her IP, and uses that money to fund hate groups.

I am, like, a long running proponent of the "eat something and you'll feel better" crowd and am often one of the first people to suggest "maybe it's time for a snack before I get whipped into a frenzy" but I really do resent how instantaneous it is. like it'll feel like I'm having my worst day in months and then I'll start eating and literally before I even finish I'm like oh yeah the world is beautiful

My best advice for advancing mages of any stripe: Get off of social media and out of the "New Age & Spirituality" section of the bookstore, as these things are so focused on the basic stuff. Don't hold yourself back at the 101 level forever.
Instead, find people you disagree with on how magic works. Discuss topics and enjoy your differences.
Use things for magic that other people won't understand.
Find or make up the most fucked up magic thing you can think of and work from there.
The more your craft, path, or other form of magic deviates from the "normal" 101 stuff, the better.

i noticed that in cpunk community they usually tell that canes are low support and more for balance. i disagree and i want to say why.
not sure if there's such thing in english, but in my language we have different words for "walking cane" and "support cane". first one is exactly how people describe it: for light weight bearing, good for balancing. meanwhile the second one is good for weight bearing, and i know what i'm talking about - i use one.
the difference is handle type + shaft structure. for heavy weight bearing it should be solid, no mecha joints or smth. wooden ones are the best, and always read specifications closely, they must have maximum weight that the cane is able to support. mine can bear my whole body weight and even some more.
what about handles, it's usually derby or t-shape. they're the best for heavy support because if you hold it properly your wrist doesn't hurt, your whole arm works instead. my wrists are never sore. so, a good way to hold a cane for weight bearing is lean your palm against the handle and stretch your index finger down the shaft.
and of course the right height is very, very important.
with all that said, i can switch almost my whole leg weight onto the cane, and my wrist is okay, and the cane can bear it just fine.
the point is, canes can bear weight and they can do it really good, just not every cane is capable.

-Pray to them or just just talk with them and tell them about your day
-Light a candle and say your thanks
-Offer your meal/snack to them or bake/cook with them or for them
-Watch a movie in their honor
-Offer your morning drink to them or make a cup for them
-Assign them a plant and take care of it as a devotion to them
-Listen to music that reminds you of them
-Say good morning/good night
