Sometimes I just sit back and remember that Tubbo never believed in himself since the start of his presidency. So when Dream took back every compliment he gave Tubbo and verbally abused him right after Tubbo had a very traumatic reunion with his former best friend…Tubbo internalized Tommy saying that the discs were worth more than him despite Tommy apologizing and taking it back by telling Tubbo to give the disc to Dream to protect Tubbo and L'manberg (Shown in him expecting Tommy to choose the discs over him) imagine how much he internalized from what Dream said…
I mean Dream calls Tubbo an idiot multiple times, says he is powerless and calls him the worst president while Techno cheers Dream on.
And Dream just continues, calling him a fool and a buffoon, saying, “You get pushed around by everyone on the server!”.
Techno calls him a coward and says he “sucks”.
Then Dream makes it out to be Tubbo’s fault that he is going to blow up L'manberg because Tubbo gave him the disc when Dream purposefully put Tubbo under the impression that Dream would go to war with L'maberg if he DIDN’T give Dream the disc.
Dream says, “I don’t care about you. I’m not your friend. I cared about getting the disc back and I got it back. That’s the only thing that matters.”. Bringing it back to that the discs being worth more than Tubbo. This dialogue also mirrors the conversation Tubbo had with Tommy seconds before with themes of not caring, not being friends and caring more about the discs.
Dream goes on to criticize Tubbo’s presidency feeding into Tubbo’s fear of becoming like Wilbur or Schlatt and Tubbo’s idea that he’s the worst president by saying “You can’t even run your nation right” TWICE.
Then Dream claims Ranboo is a spy, literally the only person Tubbo believed was still loyal to him.
And maybe one of the most heart-breaking lines Dream says: “L'manberg is weaker than it’s even been and it’s because of you! You have destroyed everything, you have ruined your friendships, you have ruined L'manberg’s allies, you are a horrible president Tubbo.” Dream blames everything on Tubbo and Tubbo (and also Techno) agrees with him. As if he wasn’t manipulated into exiling Tommy, as if he didn’t try his best to keep the peace but was compared to a tyrant that also his abuser when he didn’t let himself be pushed around and made his own decision.
Then L'manberg goes under threat and Tubbo feels it’s his fault and duty to protect L'manberg despite nearly everyone agreeing it’s a losing battle.
And Tubbo agrees that it’s all his fault. Just think about how Tubbo already didn’t believe in himself and knew nothing about government and then having Dream turn around and confirm that all of his greatest insecurities were real…

a funny concept: the egg is a hivemind, obviously, and it can speak to all of its followers from distances. but it can’t speak to them individually. so just imagine, one follower is having a dramatic interaction with the egg that warrants a certain phrase, but every other follower also hears it completely out of context.
