Sure, here are some movies/docs that I think raise interesting questions about what it means to be a man and/or masculine.
Close-Up (1990), dir. by Abbas Kiarostami. A movie about movies about life and how we use movies to live life. (You'll understand after watching.)
Love Exposure (2008), dir. by Sion Sono. Put aside a chunk of time for this one. Great choreography. One of my favorite monologues in a movie ever.
Wings of Desire (1987), dir. by Wim Wenders. A must-see for any trans repressor who secretly loves the world and can't wait to live in it.
The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez (1982), dir. by Robert M. Young. See if you can stream the restoration. Think about what it meant for a Western movie like this to come out in the 80s.
Sweet Smell of Success (1957), dir. by Alexander Mackendrick. For Succession lovers. So beautifully scummy. Like iridescent, polluted rainwater runoff in a gutter.
The Aggressives (2005), dir. by Daniel Peddle. Very important piece of history in queer cinema and representation. Must be watched, not simply absorbed passively through Tumblr photosets.
Beyond the Aggressives: 25 Years Later (2023), dir. by Daniel Peddle. The follow-up. Haven't watched this yet, but I've heard good things. I need to find out where I can stream it.
If you're on the hunt for new recommendations and, like me, hate reading through smug Letterboxd reviews, check out Cathode Cinema. They stream great movies, with each screening's contents selected to fit a theme by one of their curators. In December 2023, Christina Acevedo collaborated with them for a 'rain' themed screening, which included movies like Damnation (1988) and The Crow (1994), if that gives a sense of the range to expect.

ok ive been wanting to make something like this for a while. i have been on T for a long time- 8 years in may. and when i was 18 and hooking up with cis people i thought shit was Wrong with my body. i went to a handful of gynecology appointments convinced that my experience with sex was abnormal. when i was 19 and started being exclusively t4t, i realized that sex is just literally different for trans guys. now that i'm 21 and have a partner who's also been on T for several years i've learned a lot!
things ive learned about transmasc4transmasc sex!
for reference i do not have an exact body count but id comfortably estimate ive had sex with around 10 other trans men, then sexted or had in depth conversations about sex with upwards of 30 from running this account and being a slut !! so not like an expert or anything but i feel comfortable pointing out things i've consistently experienced at this point
nearly all trans guys ive been with either totally dislike or only want a very small amount of penetration. not even just as a dysphoria thing. most of them (myself included) said that penetration feels physically painful. now of course theres the whole "sex should never feel painful" thing and if this is an issue for you im not saying to not see a doctor, just that this seems to be Extremely common for trans guys. if people want tips for how i've personally made penetration more comfortable or had sex without it lmk!
EDIT: some people seem surprised by this so maybe its not as common as i thought, but in my experience and what ive been told by doctors its a very common effect of testosterone. if you want to have penetrative sex and experience discomfort please go talk to your doctor!!
most tdicks are innies not outies, especially when soft. i know that art on here tends to portray tdicks as sticking out of the vulva, but id say less than half that ive seen irl are like that when hard. especially if you aren't skinny, tdicks typically only really poke out like that if you have tons of growth, are really hard, and have your legs spread.
dysphoria during sex is totally possible to work through if everyone just talks about it !!!! talk about what body parts might trigger it, what sorts of language to use (are words like "pretty" okay?), then get creative about it!! one of my favorite things to do is take those long/ more phallic shaped vibrators, press it to his tcock, and have him hold it while jerking off the handle. it looks and feels like actually jacking off a cock. its so good holy shit
