As I continue through my read(listen) of A Vision of Shadows, the fact that Thunderclan has so many cats continues to build up and bother me more and more. The clan just does not feel like a close-knit community at all, because even when the books to their little looks around the camp half the cats in Thunderclan are still missing. And they conveniently keep avoiding bringing up how many cats that actually is in different scenes.
You're telling me all of Thunderclan except elders Graystripe Millie Jayfeather went to this gathering? Really? All 30+ of them? And they all fit on the island along with all the other clans?
Or how about the fact that the rogues apparently outnumbered all 3 clans and part of Shadowclan when they went to face them? It just breaks my suspension of disbelief.
And poor Snowbush. This overpopulation is seriously affecting the personal interactions too. Snowbush was such a non-character that he barely even spoke during the scene he got his life-ending injuries, nevermind still not having any kind of personality at all from birth to death.
I miss the actually-close feeling of the clan that the first arc had, where even the most minor Thunderclan characters still had more than 2 lines across 4 books. And here's the thing Shadowclan and Skyclan actually somewhat have that feeling! The background characters still barely have interactions, but at least there's just few enough that they can all get mentioned in a camp scene. Why must Thunderclan have this problem so strongly. It really makes it feel like the writers don't actually care about anything but the plot in these newer books.

Like to think that, as a ex-kittypet, firestar its a pretty touchy cat, like, he likes physical contact a lot and does it quite often
he’s so huggy. he’s the huggiest hugger. one time, graypaw was beckoning firepaw over to share tongues, but firepaw just rubbed against his side real hard, purred, flopped on the ground, and kept purring.
as yellowfang dies, she licks his head real hard and he just gets choked up bc it brings up a memory of his mom, the only memory he has of her.
cloudtail is super similar, and fireheart punishes his apprentice for disrespect with cuddle bans.
as fireheart and longtail become friends, fireheart gets super touchy. he rubs and leans on longtail and intertwines their tails, and longtail is SO flustered but he thinks it’s platonic because fireheart acts similarly with graystripe.
as soon as squirrelkit and leafkit don’t need sandstorm’s milk, she leaves the nursery and firestar replaces her :3 he was there the whole time, but yknow. he LOVES sitting there all day with kits cuddling him. HIS kits, can you believe it? once those two are apprenticed, firestar mopes a bit from lack of cuddles.
after his kits leave the nursery, firestar refuses (can’t) sleep without another cat, usually longtail.
leafpool was always a little closer to firestar than squirrelflight was, despite firestar’s wishes, so they have cute little moments sitting together and grooming each other, rubbing their heads together and purring.
even once his family is full-grown, they all pile in the leader’s den from time to time to cuddle firestar. this continues until his death — so his grandbabies, the three, get to join in! bramblestar does not continue this tradition in the leader’s den, but squirrelflight’s kids still cuddle her. firestar passed on the cuddle gene.
in starclan, firestar is the patron saint of cuddle puddles because i said so???
i definitely want legendary cats to be known as “patron” of something, and firestar definitely will be one, and it will definitely have to do with love.

I know there's a lotta discourse out there about Palworld vs. Pokemon, and I wanted to give my 2 cents on it. If you're not interested in that you're free to ignore this post! No hard feelings!
First: If you wanna play the game, play it. Does this make you a bad person with bad morals? No.
Second: No AI was used. This was a rumor with zero proof. The CEO mentioned his interest in AI at some point or AI was used on OTHER projects but not on Palworld.
Third: Did they steal models from Pokémon? I believe it was heavily inspired to a point where they toed a line, yes, but that's Nintendo's battle to fight, not yours. This game showed trailers 2 years ago. If Nintendo wanted to stop it, they would've already. Plus, Pokémon ripped their designs off Dragon Quest, so no one is innocent here. The multi-billion dollar corporation will be alright, I promise.
Fourth: You can be both a Pokémon fan AND a Palworld fan. The games are actually insanely different in gameplay and story. Palworld is actually more similar to ARK or Rust than it is Pokémon. If I'm honest, Palworld is built better.
Fifth: Pokémon fans should see this as a good competition for Nintendo. Competition means Nintendo might take the next game a little more seriously, allowing for a better product than what was initially received with Violet/Scarlet.
And lastly, if I had to take a guess, the Palworld devs probably (and this is just my opinion!) hired a lawyer to tell them how far they could toe the line which means what they've done is legal. People might not like that but that might just be how it is.
That being said, yes I've played the game, yes I love it and yes, I will continue playing it and I don't feel bad about it.
