university stress strikes again ................ maybe i will stay in the states after all, i'd hate to miss out on a good opportunity but i don't want to hurt my future with incurring horrible private debt.. i think that as long as i get a degree it'll be okay and i'll make it out alive, but it is something i have been considering quite a bit. the uni here i am mainly thinking about does not have my preferred major, though (and not even actual classes for it in general), so i'm more than a bit disappointed there really. though i can take related-ish classes. it sucks but i'll figure it out, it'll be more than okay in the end and my path is bright!! just need to believe.......................

gonna try and pull an allnighter to finish my living dex in pokémon y, trainers... i'm only 114(!!!) away, which is kind of a lot, but almost all of them are from kalos. we're so close... -lisia

i've had quite a few college classes that've required buying textbooks and stuff, and i've always been able to download those textbooks through other means... i'm of the belief that information, especially in an educational context, should be free, and thankfully have been able to pay nothing for books over the past two years. (i have been doing my past two years of college remotely because i am still technically a high school student and it fits my schedule better)

but the fact that this quarter i have a whole class that has QUIZZES locked behind a $35 usd paywall is flatout unacceptable!!!!!!! i downloaded the textbook for free by other means, and having the textbook should be more than enough -- paying $35 for one year of a textbook WITH quizzes is insane. i can pay the fee just fine, but the fact that it's a thing makes me genuinely really upset with my professor here, like in NONE of my other classes this hasn't been a thing, so it's just.......... so confounding. i do not get this

going on a veeerrrrrryyy long car trip tomorrow morning... i don't particularly want to do this because it'll only be for a week (and we're going to the same place to visit relatives in a few months for summer), but i have no choice. i don't want to disappear though, so i'll be sure to update with pictures once i am at my destination!! it'll take more than 12 hours ughhhhh but it will be ok

my favorite april fool's i've gotten today was that i learned that my college classes for this quarter genuinely started today, which is a week earlier than i thought they started. so now i have those to look forwards to for the time being...

i usually don't go to my high school campus very often... basically i'm a college student while still technically in high school, and one of the best parts about it is that i don't need to take high school classes anymore. but, i do try to help out my japanese teacher there every so often bc i took the highest level of classes for it last year. kind of like a TA i guess? i grade stuff and answer questions, that sort of thing.

but anyways, that's mostly besides the point. yesterday i went there and helped out because i needed to go to the public library to return some manga, and it was fun! but i was told about something soooort of neat, that there were some exchange students from japan coming to visit the day after. so i unexpectedly went again?

...and it was really neat honestly! there were like 15 or so students and they were all reeeaaallllyyyyy nice!! i met a girl who does traditional japanese archery, and exchanged emails with another one, and just had a good time really! (and met someone who really liked vocaloid ehehe, her fav is kagamine rin!) i got some origami paper from someone that i need to figure out what to fold with it sometime... everyone was from a part of japan where i won't be in the event i'll be studying abroad sadly, but who knows? it was very fun and 'new', having convos in japanese with people who aren't my older sister or jp teacher, too. (though i do like talking with my older sister the most out of anyoneeee ehehehehe..）

i hope they're liking here so far, it's not a super stunning place really, but... maybe it's better than other parts of the country. all the exchange students were taking loooots of pictures, so i hope they tell their friends about how things were? that might be nice...

really when i asked one girl why she wanted to do a short study abroad in the first place, she said that experiencing a different culture seemed like a good thing. i think that's probably the best mindset to have when you're going across oceans, even if only for a short time. i hope she experiences lots and lots while she's here :)

this all makes me excited for what's to come soon. though i did get asked if i'd be nervous for going abroad, aaaand... maybe those worries just haven't hit me yet, ehehe. something for future lisia to worry about.

how my night's been going, or: how one magical girl messed up making eggs twice and ramen once

(poaching eggs in ramen cup didn't work!! and doing it in a bowl with a kettle didn't either... so i ruined one cup of noodles grrrrr, if it wasn't super late i would have just used the stove but .)

i spilled something on the floor (cryig . ) but eventually!!!! was able to get myself together and have a kimchi shrimp latenight snack (not healthy) (do not recommend) (this whole process literally took me an hour)
