May I also add:
3.) Humans under 18 should be allowed and encouraged to have more freedom and responsibility so that the transition into Adulthood (tm) isn't a complete shock to the system after 18 years of pre-planned 7-hour school days and having to ask permission to go pee.
Like, it really is possible that these two statements are both truth:
1.) 18-year-old humans are adults and can and should be given adult responsibilities and consequences.
2.) 18-year-old humans are adults, but very fucking young and it takes a long time to become a largely capable, functional and 'together' adult, and we should remember that when they fuck up.
If you need an addition (you do):
a.) There is no magical point you have all of your shit sorted all of the time, so regardless of age, we should assume good faith first and only revoke it when it's clear or proven that the other party was acting in bad faith.
#highschoolers (in the US) are treated like prisoners who can't be trusted for five seconds#and then you're immediately expected to take complete responsibility for yourself in college/the workplace#even some of the smartest and most serious students I knew had no idea how to handle the shift when we turned 18

Foiled!
Today I got to go on one of our runs to more rural shelters to help relieve overcrowding there. We ended up bringing back 21 kittens and 10 dogs. So fun day. But this morning, while I was getting stuff together in preparation for the 90 minute drive…. This happened.
Excuse you Tiniest Opossum, but you are NOT allowed to escape through the front bars of the cat carrier we were housing you in. I’m going to put you back.
“NO!”
I am going to catch you and put you back and you have no say in this matter.
“NO!”
Catching you and putting you back now.
“NOOOOOO!”
Aaaand back you go. Let go of the purple towel and go in the cardboard box.

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

i genuinely hope that boop day inspires everyone to interact more with other tumblr users. because it’s clearly way more fun this way!! even once the boop button is gone, there’s still asks, tag and ask games, comments, dms, fuck it let’s bring back blog rates i don’t care. part of the reason that tumblr is dying is that its way less social than it used to be. let’s fix that!!
