jacekingstonn :
Jace didn’t know whether to be pissed or glad or all of the above. She’d been home for how long and hadn’t reached out to him? Not that she owed him anything or needed to check in but he hadn’t seen her in months, she’d disappeared and not even told him anything about whether she’d be back or if she was running because of everything that’d happened. She didn’t even give him a chance to talk her into staying and now she was back and his head felt muddled. There was a tension between them that was calmed down by the atmosphere they were in, drinks clinking around them and laugher and conversation wrapping them in a bubble. He was about to say something else when arms wrapped around him and he spotted the change in the brunette’s face, confusion going to something else as he turned to acknowledge the blonde. Amanda told him the drinks were served and wandered off after shooting Bri a smile, leaving them alone again before Bri abruptly declared she had to go. “Bri–” he called after her but before he had a chance to fully let out a complete sentence she was gone, lost through the crowd.
He wandered back to where Amanda had snagged a booth and sat down, making conversation with his girlfriend while trying to find Bri in the bar. She was upset, that much was clear but no way had she just up and left.. again.. right? He spotted her long brown hair at the bar with a guy, a pit forming in his stomach. He shook his head and tried to focus his attention on Amanda but it was hard. He wanted to know where she’d gone, who she’d been with, what she’d done, why she was back but she hadn’t given him the chance to ask before disappearing. At least he could see her and keep an eye on her.
The evening wore on and Amanda announced she was tired and wanted to head back to his place, Jace agreeing after a night that felt so long because of all of his unanswered questions. Amanda said she’d be right back and darted off to the restroom giving him a chance to make sure Bri was fine before he left. That’s when Lisbeth found him and asked him for help. Bri wasn’t picking up, she wasn’t where she told Lis she’d be and from the way she’d been drinking he was pretty sure she was so wasted she didn’t know what was going on let alone who she was with. He and Lis split up and began to look around the bar but couldn’t find her, until Lis pointed at the brunette being carried out of the place by some sleazy stranger. Jace led the way out with her hot on his trail and found the guy as he hailed an Uber and bent to get Bri in the car. “Sorry man this is where she leaves you. She’s clearly wasted and going to wake up to regret this in the morning.” Lis stepped up to the car to try to get Bri out but the stranger wasn’t budging, his words slurring and showing he was pretty drunk himself as he started yelling about it being her idea to leave and telling them to fuck off.
Catching sight of Jace, Bri frowned deeply and shouted at him. “Go away! Go to hell.” She tried to shut the door in his face but he was already inserting himself into her business when he had no right to be. “How could you?!” Her icy glare and heated words conveyed the anger she felt towards him, but hid how hurt she was. “I hate you. I hate that you’re with her. Go back to your girlfriend.” She shoved Jace away. “Can’t you see I don’t want you here?” The only thing she was interested in was having meaningless sex with the stranger in the car with her. So she wouldn’t have to think about her two friends being together, probably hooking up behind her back. But he was ruining her chances, the guy becoming more agitated that he wouldn’t be getting an easy lay like he had hoped. “The only regret I have is coming back. I never want to see you again. Leave, both of you.” And how long had Lisbeth known about them and not told her? She didn’t feel like she could trust any of her friends, refusing to get out of the Uber and locking the door on the other side. “Fuck this. This bitch ain’t worth it.” The guy slid out of the car. “I’m sorry. Don’t go…” Brielle grabbed his arm and pleaded in a desperate attempt to placate him but he shook her off. If even he didn’t want her, Aiden cheated, and Jace was with Amanda, would anyone choose her? “Drive, now,” she urged the driver hitting the back of his seat with her palm.

jacekingstonn :
Everything after the night he’d caught Aiden with a girl that wasn’t Brielle was a blur. One second he was throwing punches because how dare he treat his best friend like that and the next said best friend was barely talking to him, short texts exchanged but nothing of substance. He missed her and wanted things to go back to normal or at least their version of normal but it seemed like a long shot when she chose to stay with the cheater rather than trust what he’d seen for himself. Their texts grew further and further apart and before long they’d stopped talking, the brunette falling off of the face of the Earth. He’d tried looking for her, hitting up their usual spots to run into her by accident but hadn’t been able to bump into her – and then Amanda happened. The blonde was someone he’d known pre-deployment. He’d actually met her through Brielle but never thought anything more apart from him finding her really funny. As it turned out they had a ton in common and with Brielle being no where to be found he found himself spending more and more time with Amanda.
“Babe come on, I love watching you play that stupid game but let’s goooo. Your online buddies will be here when we get back,” the blonde whined and he laughed, signing off of the game console before grabbing his wallet and letting her drag him out. They’d been official for a couple of weeks now and since Brielle this was the first girl he’d actually developed feelings for. He excused himself as she ordered to go to the bathroom before they got their drinks and was heading towards the bathroom through the gathering crowd when he bumped into someone. Jace paused for a moment and reached out to steady her and at the same time making sure she wasn’t just a figment of his imagination. “You’re back?” He didn’t even think, the words just slipping past his lips.
It was not that Brielle wanted to cut Jace out of her life, she needed space; she was hurting and didn’t feel like she could turn to her best friend. Not only that but she felt ashamed that she hadn’t trusted him in the first place, the one person who always looked out for her. He must have hated her for it, even if he didn’t say so she felt like he did so to make it easier on herself she left without saying goodbye. Turns out with just one photoshoot, she had managed to catch the eye of an agent who set her up to meet with other photographers and pretty soon she was whisked across Europe posing for high end fashion, but what she ended up enjoying most, surprisingly, was taking pictures in lingerie, not for the provocative nature of photos, but because it made her feel sexy, built up her self confidence again. While modeling was a great distraction, fun, it was only that. Her mind was set on staying, what was there at home for her but drama and heartbreak. All the reasons were in favor of her not going back, but in the end she found her way home to the one person she was running away from. It was him that she came back for, she didn’t need any other reason, she couldn’t imagine being away from him.
But Bri wasn’t ready to face him, not yet. Here he was in front of her, being there to catch her as he’d done so many times before. She looked at him with a sheepish smile, all worries subsided for the briefest of moments, so happy to see him. She wanted to throw her arms around him to let him know how much she missed him. Then he spoke, a reminder to her that she owed him an explanation for… everything. She opened her mouth but didn’t know where to even begin. An apology was on the cusp of her tongue when Amanda appeared, greeting Jace with a more than friendly hug from behind and kiss on the cheek. “There you are. Been wondering where you might be. Come on, drinks are waiting,” said the blonde. Her heart sank. Any smile that might have remained on Bri’s features faded away completely. She didn’t need them to say anything to her, she knew. Jace had moved on. She didn’t care if he found someone to be with, he deserved to be happy, but did he have to choose her, someone who she considered to be a good friend. If he wanted to hurt her back then he had found the way to do it. She couldn’t bare to be around him any longer. “I’ve got to go.” Bri hurried away, feeling her eyes well up from the betrayal from both of her friends.
She returned to the bar but not to join Lisbeth, instead introducing herself to a stranger, flashing a forced smile. “Buy me a drink?” To which the guy eyed her up and down, licked his lips, and obliged. The more she drank the more flirty she became and she didn’t seem to mind that the male had his hands all over her. After the few martinis she had earlier it didn’t take very many shots before Bri was wasted. Concerned at not being able to reach Bri, Lisbeth looked around, found Jace and asked for his help. The guy whispered something in Bri’s ear, nodding she giggled. She was ready to get out of there. They were almost to door when Bri nearly slipped, disregarding the fact that she almost twisted her ankle in her boots. “Whoops. I can’t find my feet,” she laughed. “Will you carry me?”

See You Again | Jace & Brielle
The only thing Brielle wanted to do after she got back from Europe was to flop onto her bed and sleep off the feeling of being jetlagged. While it was still early in the evening, she would technically still be sleeping in if she had stayed in Paris. Instead she was being dragged out for drinks by her best friend. Only Lisbeth knew she was back and where she’d been the last couple of weeks, having been sworn to secrecy not to tell anyone, especially not Jace. Bri didn’t want to admit that he’d been right all along. She had chosen to give Aiden the benefit of the doubt, that he wouldn’t cheat, and made it seem like she was choosing him over her Jace. Bri realized her mistake when she caught her now ex boyfriend making out with another girl in the parking lot. She wanted to get as far away as possible, but in reality she needed her best friend. So when a modeling opportunity, a small photoshoot, came up in Paris she left.
Brielle wasn’t in the mood to get dolled up. With the simple white vneck that she had on she put a leather jacket over it with a pair of dark skinny jeans, getting ready in time for Lisbeth to come pick her up. One drink, she reluctantly agreed. But by the persuasion of her friend it became a few extra martinis. “I’ll be right back,” Bri excused herself to use the bathroom. As she was hurrying back to the bar, she didn’t watch where she was going and bumped into someone, quickly apologizing but wide-eyed when she saw who it was. “Jace…”

Jace: You were sending angry texts?
Bri: Well, kinda. I guess I felt like you were trying to break us up.

Jace: Can we start over? Ignore everything I said and the fact that I'm being a dick.
Bri: I'd like that. I hate it when we send angry texts to each other. I don't like when you're mad at me.
