bressie: The reaction to The Magic Moment from parents, teachers and, most importantly, the kids who have read it has been incredibly heart-warming for me. I am so excited to share with you all that Freddie and Nana are back this year with another little mindfulness trick, focusing on gratitude. Practising gratitude from a positive psychology perspective is a fantastic way to place more emphasis on the great things we do have, rather than what we don’t have. This wonderful technique is a practical way for kids and adults alike, to help remind us of all the wonderful things we already have, and which make us happy. From young lads with their parents rushing up to me in coffee shops to show me the magic moment trick, to my own nephew Billy, the wave of beautiful photos of kids practising the trick at home with their parents and the teachers contacting me to let me know how it helped their classroom. Thank you so much. Myself, Freddie, nana the incredible talented and wonderful @sheenadempsey really appreciate it. From the minute I started studying this area of mindfulness I wanted to write books to try and helps young kids navigate the inevitable emotions they all face. I also wanted to help create a vehicle for parents and kids to talk about these things in a safe and supportive way. bressie: Badly tore my quad muscle yesterday while having a great day for @crossfit_navitas 6th birthday celebrations. This injury was one of the main injuries that finished my GAA and rugby career and always raises it’s annoying head every now and then. I sat in the corner of the gym feeling a little sorry for myself and this absolute beaut noticed I looked a little pissed off. Having never met @camdensportsclinic dog Harley before he decided to come up and sit on my lap for a while. Dogs may not be able to talk but they sure know how to comfort someone at the right time. At this point I’m pretty sure he was saying “fuck your gammy leg, there is a heap of free pizza, chocolate biscuit cake and brownies over on that table. Go over there and stuff your face and go home and sit on your hole, ice the leg and all will be good in no time”.

bressie: I am delighted to be once again doing the @londonirishcentre lecture series this summer. On June 12th I will be hosting a lecture and also a workshop in London on how we can better take care of our minds in the midst of the chaos of the modern world. I lived in London for 5 years and met some incredible people but it can be a tough city to be in sometimes. It moves quite fast and many struggle with the pace. I have worked with the London Irish centre now for a few years and rarely have I met a more passionate, compassionate and driven group determined to support the community there in a myriad of ways . @gary_dunne and the team are a special breed of sound. bressie: This Friday I have been lucky enough to have been asked to speak at the amazing @writersweek in Listowel #listowelwritersweek . I will be exploring aspects of how we can better take care of our lovely minds in the midst of all the chaos and our million mile an hour lives. Hosting these types of talks can really teach me a lot too. Listening to how others navigate the madness can also educate me on how I can better do it too. Looking forward to getting down and seeing everyone and having an open and enjoyable conversation about writing, books and our heads
