🐯🐾 虎掌燒 🐯🐾
(🀄 ㄏㄨˊㄓㄤˇㄕㄠ/hú zhǎng shāo)
— literally “Tiger Paw Grill”, a grilled pancake snack filled with sweet or savoury filling, is apparently a Taiwanese variation on the Japanese たい焼き (Taiyaki).
Thanks to @thistransient's post (and @cherrymintvampyyri's reblog) that introduced me to the existence of the 虎掌燒!

Not to be a hopeless romantic, but was anyone going to tell us that 2023 was the year scientists were able to visualize quantum-entangled particles for the first time and they literally look like yin and yang??

My one friend group can't stop saying, "See you in hell!" in a cheerful voice instead of, "Talk to you later!" and my other friend group can't stop calling things "penis" instead of "cool" or "good", so I just unironically uttered the phrase, "Sounds penis, see you in hell," as I got off the phone.

I wrote this in 2014 babes. It's been a literal DECADE.
Also lol I distinctly remember that a lot of Palestinians hated and vehemently criticized when he painted the wall on the west bank but sure okay. It's not like multiple Palestinian artists objected to his works and profiting off of the situation or anything!
Anyways I'm allowed to dislike a boring artist for boring art and prefer the street art made by locals in an area and not a conglomerate of artists or a white dude or whatever else.
as an art historian, may i just say: fuck banksy.
instead of banksy, the white guy who has been funded and coddled by the elite as the darling of the circle-jerking art white male art world, TRY:
Women on Walls - AKA  Sit El 7eta (in Arabic), which is about women in Egypt who are street artists
Malina Suliman, Afghanistan — Kabul Art Project
Shamsia Hassani, Afghanistan — Kabul Art Project
Jean-Michel Basquiat — Black American Artist
Women Street artists painting in Lima, Peru for International Women’s Day
Lee Quinones - forefather of American street art and Puerto Rican/Latino American
LADY PINK - Latina/Ecuadoran American, you’ll know her by the “abuse of power comes as no surprise” shirt.
Mata Ruda - also Latino
El Dercetor - Peruvian Muralist/Street Artist
Tati Suarez - Latina Woman
Bastardilla - a woman from Colombia
Fatcap is a street art website resource — I linked to Cape Town, but you can search geographically
Global Street Art
Ralph Ziman just made the world’s largest wheat paste art in South Africa
10 women artists better than banksy check out Lady Aiko!
HAVE YOU HEARD OF SWOON?
African-American and Iranian artist Tatyana Fazlalizadeh of “STOP TELLING WOMEN TO SMILE” fame
 Nardstar* from South Africa
Zhang Dali - China
literally ANYONE BUT BANKSY
FUCK BANKSY

1. Smells bad and gross (nicotine flowers smell good though! But most cigs smell awful.) I have a very sensitive nose and the smell makes me headachey or nauseous.
2. I also have asthma and aerosols/odors are a trigger.
3. ....I have anxiety and am a 90's kid, so D.A.R.E. (& the body worlds exhibits) actually worked perfectly on me as a child. Showed me a cancerous lung once and I was like oh. no thanks forever. lmfao.
(4. Before I knew I had asthma, I knew my mom would have grounded me for eternity and ten years. I'm a grown adult now and she still would do this if she found out.)

"Oh, but what if my D&D character's complicated backstory is unintentionally a little bit similar to another party member's backstory" the default party in Baldur's Gate 3 has two completely unrelated characters whose central arc involves angsting over the fact that they're going to explode soon for two completely different reasons.

That's really funny and now that you've said it that totally makes sense, it totally looks more like an older wade-giles romanization style! 工合 from 工業合作社 Gōngyè Hézuòshè.
...by contrast the motivational saying I do know is 加油! jiāyóu! Literally add oil! Y'know. Gas up! We're cooking with gas! Yessss.
When people get a little too gung-ho about-
wait. cancel post. gung-ho cannot be English. where did that phrase come from? China?
ok, yes. gōnghé, which is…an abbreviation for “industrial cooperative”? Like it was just a term for a worker-run organization? A specific U.S. marine stationed in China interpreted it as a motivational slogan about teamwork, and as a commander he got his whole battalion using it, and other U.S. marines found those guys so exhausting that it migrated into English slang with the meaning “overly enthusiastic”.
That’s…wild. What was I talking about?

I guess my point is: why are you telling me? I'm not truly deeply offended or anything (apology accepted). It's that this is more like...a phenomenon I want people to examine when they do it. bc yeah in most cases telling someone you didn't bother to read something is rude. I've never seen any context where it wasn't rude, even if it was only jokingly. That's why "tl;dr" summaries were invented. So that you could quickly gain the highlights if a text was dense online. Which is what I did!
I do try to ignore how many people tag basically this same comment in the tags since that's often meant to be like...self-address notes, but since you replied directly on the text post, I responded, lol.
It's not even you the individual per se, it's moreso that every time I have an ADHD related post get over 100 notes, it gets filled with comments like:
I didn't read any of that
[insert comments about how that's neurotypical behavior here]
My brain can't handle that lol
I'm incapable of doing [the thing]
[rant based on what they think was said rather than what was actually said]
[Comment implying their ADHD is so bad that honestly if I were to take it seriously, they should have a court appointed guardian.]
It just gets tiresome when it's a comment you get from several thousand people over and over and so much of it implies like...learned helplessness. A couple ppl in the comments also said basically they couldn't read this, and I was like "hey you can buy the audio book or have a friend read it to you, or read through it and help you."
I get that I didn't fully transcribe alt text and instead summarized the photos, which would be a fair criticism, but that hasn't been anyone's complaint when they tell me they don't bother reading.
Just reading the bold text first is a fine reading tactic btw! That's why it's bolded - to emphasize the important parts. Lots of nonfiction books can be read by reading the bold and then only looking for more in the paragraph or in the "text call outs" as you want more details about something. But telling someone "girl I could only read the words in bold" is like...that's what is rude bc it's dismissive? Haha.

Putting a coat on the back of a chair by the door is fine, but if you prefer, use coat hooks and a large catch-all basket for dropping keys, hats, gloves.
Small bookcase end-table next to the couch to store craft projects, books, and other things being worked on for easy access.
Add a storage unit near the dining room table to transition between eating and working there.
Daily toiletry items should be stored in a basket that you can move easily
Extra toiletries and medicine cabinet items go in open shelf/basket storage so they can be seen and used easily. If items no longer fit, purge the excess. Don’t obscure the view!
If you disrobe in the bathroom, place a tall hamper in there.
Keep a set of cleaning supplies in each bathroom

Look I don't want to be constantly holier than thou about a lot of my consumption choices because I find that annoying and also hypocritical.
But if you go on to r/anticonsumption and admit to buying shein because that's where you find cute tshirts in your personal style for cheap, I do think we have a right to wonder what you're doing on that subreddit.

Sometimes it's okay to come back to something when you have the attention span for it instead of just telling people you're not bothering to read. Like what reaction are you hoping for here? Being ADHD doesn't make you incapable of reading something, although you may need to adapt the reading process for yourself.
I get that focusing on reading and reading related disabilities are often linked to ADHD but I do get really tired of people acting like they're mariah carey while on the long text and photo blog website.
Tumblr media
It feels infantilizing for people with ADHD and reading related disabilities, and is just rude to whoever you're talking to. Why are so many people like this. What do you get from telling me you won't even try? Especially when I gave a bullet point summary like...

They reinvented fanfiction.net linking to AFFN lol
also re last post i think a crucial part of treating your ace friends like you actually respect them is not acting like non-sexual content and child-friendly content are the same thing. which also means not assuming all stories and media aimed at adults need to contain sex (@ creators, take note). because it's shitty to be an adult and find that there is nothing out there written for someone like you and everyone's suggestions are always for children's media. there's nothing wrong with kidlit etc but sometimes, you know, you're an adult, you want stories that reflect the fact that you're an adult, and you want acknowledgement that adulthood and interest in sex are not synonyms. and likewise when you are writing non sexual content for an adult audience it sucks to have people assume it's meant to be for kids and to expect it to fulfil a purpose it wasn't made for
