I'm coming back to this because how did this person miss that they suggested a good way to avoid getting food on delivery is to get your food delivered?
Tumblr media
frequently i'm like "why am i still on twitter" but then i see a 2017-ass insane crab nebula brain take like this and i'm just like oh right that's why. hast thou considered that SOME PEOPLE are ALLERGIC to FROZEN FOOD and therefore it is a VIOLATION OF HUMAN RIGHTS to deny them a CHILI'S QUESADILLA delivered to their house FOR FREE

This went way off the rails. I'm pretty sure that the original argument was about pre made frozen meals and the original point was
It can be really difficult to find pre made frozen meals without allergens (if you have latex food syndrome, good luck finding anything without potatoes, tomatoes, or bell peppers) while you can tell a restaurant to just not include the food
Going to the grocery store still takes time and spoons
Why the fuck are we talking about frozen veggies? Even if there was a disability that makes it so you can't have frozen food, there is no way you found a restaurant on Uber Eats that doesn't use frozen food in some way.

I would love to see a broader audience poll like this because this is either super fascinating or easily explained by this being the autism website

Like y'all joke but it's kinda right. They actually did a study that showed that people who (self reported) spent a lot of time in communities where Rick Rolling was common were less likely to click on suspicious links in dummy emails.

"they're silencing me" says the US congressman to the reporter eager to interview him. "It's fascism and totalitarianism" he says before admitting he doesn't know what those words mean. "I'd support them if they weren't so mean to me" he said about the anti genocide protestors. "Why don't they want to meet with me when I care about their issue?" Asks the man who's done nothing about the issue despite leading a committee that's uniquely able to do something. "We should arrest them for evil fascism" he said about the nonviolent protestors who are, again, desperately trying to stop a genocide.
Protesters, Smith said, “would say, ‘Children are dying. This is a huge humanitarian crisis.’ And they’re right about that … and by the way, I do have some sympathy with these people. If there are members of Congress who won’t meet with them, I meet with them. All the time. So they have an opportunity to be heard. They’re not trying to be heard. They’re trying to silence people who disagree with them.”
Asked what kind of protest might be appropriate, Smith cited a recent instance in an armed services hearing in which “people came in and they didn’t say anything, they just held up bloody hands. And the chairman noticed that and said, ‘You can’t do that, you’re out, and they got up and left.”
this election year is gonna be sooo good guys. remember, vote blue, no matter who!

I've never seen a poll where the number of notes are 10x higher than the number of votes before the poll closed.
Just checking.... We all pronounce Miette like My-TAY in our heads, right?

This is a good time to remind everyone that The Chamber of Commerce is not a government entity. They are a private org that severely fucked over the country.
"We heard from employees who, because of noncompetes, were stuck in abusive workplaces," she said. "One person noted when an employer merged with an organization whose religious principles conflicted with their own, a noncompete kept the worker locked in place and unable to freely switch to a job that didn't conflict with their religious practices."
These accounts, she said, "pointed to the basic reality of how robbing people of their economic liberty also robs them of all sorts of other freedoms." The FTC estimates about 30 million people, or one in five American workers, from minimum wage earners to CEOs, are bound by noncompetes. It says the policy change could lead to increased wages totaling nearly $300 billion per year by encouraging people to swap jobs freely.
The ban, which will take effect later this year, carves out an exception for existing noncompetes that companies have given their senior executives, on the grounds that these agreements are more likely to have been negotiated. The FTC says employers should not enforce other existing noncompete agreements.
The vote was 3 to 2 along party lines. The dissenting commissioners, Melissa Holyoke and Andrew Ferguson, argued that the FTC was overstepping the boundaries of its power. Holyoke predicted the ban would be challenged in court and eventually struck down.
Shortly after the vote, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce said it would sue the FTC to block the rule, calling it unnecessary, unlawful and a blatant power grab.

Every turn is a rhythm sequence based on the cards you and your opponent have in play. The effectiveness of the card scales with the difficulty of it's sequence, and missing it means the card doesn't do anything this turn. If you miss the sequence for a card you're opponent is "attacking" with, you take damage or suffer a negative effect.
does a rhythm game deckbuilder exist? cause i desperately want it to
I feel like that would be VERY difficult, especially since a deckbuilder is all about synergizing different pieces together in a game that's usually turn-based. Rhythm games are kinda the polar opposite of turn-based. I'm sure it's not impossible, but it's probably quite difficult (unless you count games like Crypt of the Necrodancer as a rhythm game, but in that case the deckbuilding would be mostly centered around the other mechanics of the game rather than the rhythm game aspect)
