YES! I have always thought of Holly's color being red! (with variations of pink but that's besides the point. I'm actually really surprised people peg her as yellow, that was never the feeling I got from her). And I love the little note that her being red would make Skull and Holly direct opposites because yes.
I never even considered what Quill's color could be but you make a very good case for purple. He's described as wearing a black turtle neck (I belive) the first time Lockwood and Co. sees him after he steps down from Fittes, but now I can almost see it as a being a kind of midnight purple and I'm not mad.
I recently finished reading all the Lockwood & Co books, and my god they were good, but it got me thinking. If the show continued, like it deserved too, would Holly and Kipps have gotten a signature color the same way the trio did? If so what would they be? Well I was looking at twitter and I saw that most people agree that Holly's color would be yellow, and Kipps' would be white, and I'll be honest I disagree so badly I'm about to write an essay. It's funny because I distinctly remember finishing the books and thinking, "ah watch everyone put their colors as yellow and white cause it's easy". LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER. Y'all just don't get color theory OR the characters the way I do so listen up.
Holly is many things. She's positive, and compassionate, and kind, but she is so much more than that. She's not just a "yellow", yes maybe she is the sunshine of the group, but honestly? Not really, and that's ok. She's fierce and sometimes she has a short temper, she pretends to let everything slide off her shoulder, when really she's just keeping it inside. That's why her and Lucy are constantly budding heads in the beginning of their friendship, they are so similar. I think her color should be red. She's constantly described as wearing it, and I think it really fits her. Red represents passion, energy, confidence, and excitement to name a few. Holly is always described as having a presence, and her energy and enthusiasm comes off her in waves. Red is usually described as the color of love, and I still think that fits. She has such love for the entire crew, and it's so clear she would go to the ends of the earth for them. I also think this would blend in with the others very well. Despite it not actually being blue's real opposite, blue and red are often seen as polar opposites, which really fits for Lucy and Holly's dynamic. It also works because red and orange are both warm colors and George and Holly have always gotten along. They are similar in their methodical and sometimes odd ways of life. I also think it's fun cause Skully's color is green, and green are red are direct color wheel opposites. I'm pretty sure he hates her the most, but Kipps is also competing hard for that title. And lastly black is kinda the color in between, now more on that in a second.
I see what twitter was going for, Lucy and George are blue and orange, direct color wheel opposites, because they are quite literally direct opposites. So it makes sense for Kipps to be white since he's the direct opposite of Lockwood? LOUD INCORRECT BUZZER AGAIN. Tell me y'all didn't understand their dynamic without telling me. Lockwood and Kipps didn't get along cause they were so different, they butted heads so hard because of how similar they are. It's exactly what happened with Lucy and Holly. Plus white represents a lot of things that are definitely not Kipps. My proposed color for him is purple, I know that's a little odd, but walk with me. Although it's never explicitly stated, one can assume that Kipps was an absolute prodigy when he had his talents. I only bring this up, because purple often represents royalty and luxury, and he practically became a fallen king when he lost the only thing he was ever good at it. But purple is much more than that, it also represents bravery, uniqueness. ambition, and justice. I think Kipps' original color is grey, and not just because of the uniform. Grey represents seriousness, sadness, and boredom. That's how Kipps was before, but when he remeets the crew during book 3 and 4, we begin to see the shift. The group helps him gain his ambition back, and with all of their love and support we even begin to see how brave he really is. He has a unique way of going through life, and even when all the odds are stacked against them, he still seeks justice. Purple fits with the general color scheme as well. It's very close to black, which represents how similar him and Lockwood are, and it's also a cooler color like blue. Kipps and Lucy certainly got along the easiest out of the crew.
Overall it just makes sense. George and Holly are the warmer colors, Lucy and Kipps the cooler, and Lockwood as the mediator between them. I feel like red might be a little hard to incorporate without being overpowering, and I know that purple isn't a super masculine color, but hell if those costume designer made full orange outfits look good they can literally do anything. Anyways I know this isn't that important, but ugh I love color theory so much, and I love how much thought the costume designers put in the first time. I feel like having Holly and Kipps color being yellow and white is just a cheap easy shot, and doesn't take into account the characters and their growth enough. I rest my case.

I know it was yesterday but I would still like to take a moment to spot light the women in Lockwood and Co. for International Women's day. Lucy, Flo, and Holly particularly have made an impact on me that I don't think I realized until very recently. Lucy taught me emotions and empathy are not weaknesses. They lead us to the people we need, our truest friends, and help us figure out exactly who we are. She showed me what sacrifice means and that loving people is always worth it.
Flo taught me to live life where I am. She's haunted by her past yes, but she showed me how to make a space for your ourself in the present, no matter what that looks like for each individual. She's given me the courage to make the jokes that are usually left unsaid. She taught me to take matters into my own hands and step in when someone needs help. She also showed me it's okay to need the silence, that it's okay to need the isolation of a river wide and dark. But to never forget that I have people who love me waiting just beyond the shore.
Holly has taught me much, but more than anything she has taught me to love myself. She showed me parts of me that I had always hated and made me see their beauty. She taught me that being meticulous is not a crime and that people will appreciate that talent. As a character, Holly has taught me that first impressions are not everything. You're view of a person can and should change as you form a deeper connection with them. She's shown me what resilience looks like. She's taught me that the wild heart I have is nothing to be afraid of. And she's taught me that home is built not from brick and mortar but with love and perseverance.

not to be insane about her on main but you know I never stopped thinking about jessica right. you know I never stopped thinking about jess lockwood
shes like. she's JESS.
shes haunting the narrative. she's haunting lockwood. shes haunting nothing at all, in the literal sense, which is rather strange. shes in Lucy's face and the way she stands at the door. shes got lockwoods eyes, or maybe hes got hers. she's burned into her bedset. she's burned into her house. she's burned into wood. she's a broken pot. she's a clumsy rapier. she's waiting at the apple tree. shes sleeping under her covers. she likes stickers. she's a kid, she's a guardian, she's not going to take off the baby wallpaper in her bedroom. she's clung to youth. she's forced to grow up. she's younger than her baby brother. she's the world. shes important enough to die for. she's important enough to live because of. she's blue and swollen and on the floor and dead. she's pale and smiling and holding her brother in her lap, immortalized, shoved in a dresser drawer because somebody couldnt handle seeing her face.
she's that important. she's that important.
she's a lockwood, she's a mirror, she's lucy joan carlyle and anthony john lockwood and a reminder and a child and doomed, doomed, doomed in such a way that she could save everyone else.
she's the boxes lockwood couldn't open. she's the right time. she's warm feathers and stitches purposefully undone.
in her childishly wallpapered room, she is sitting, watching, cross legged on her bed.

Question for LockNation:
I know this is going to sound kind of weird (because it basically translates to how do you think you're going to die) but what kind of ghost do you think you'd come back as? If you'd come back at all, that is. Maybe a better question would be what kind of ghost do you want to come back as?
I, personally, would like to be a Poltergeist. No form, just vibes. And sometimes incredible violence.

Something that I just realized when rewatching Lockwood and Co. (as one does) is that Norrie right. She says that's its the Talent that counts, not bits of paper...but then we Fittes and Rotwells and who knows how many other agencies ignore Lucy completely because she didn't have the proper paperwork. But then when she finally arrives at Lockwood and Co. what does Lockwood say? "We'll, frankly, I don't set mush store in references or refferals. I prefer to see Talent with my own eyes." It's the Talent that counts to him and his agency and that's just another reason why Lockwood and Co. is the perfect home for Lucy Carlyle.

Lockwood and Co. Christmas Headcannons (Part 4)
Lockwood insists that they go out caroling on Christmas. It was something his parents did every year and he wants to continue the tradition with his new family. They're not the best group of singers (a few of them might even be a little tone deaf) but they have fun and they love being able to bring a little bit of cheer to the families they visit.

Lockwood and Co. Christmas Headcannons (Part 2)
Lockwood was never told Santa is not real.
His parents died when he was still young and any guardian after that either never brought it up or just assumed he knew already. Geroge, being the first to learn this, has taken it upon himself to keep this belief alive. As the others join Lockwood and Co. he discretely explains the situation and one by one they all join the pact to keep this little bit of Lockwood's childhood alive.

Lockwood and Co. Christmas Headcannons (Part 1)
Geroge is on a mission. And that mission is to make his two best friends (who happen to be obvious idiots) kiss under the mistletoe.
At first it's just one bunch over the front door. Nothing to worry about, easily avoidable. Next Lucy finds a bundle over her desk, above her seat at the table, Lockwood finds a few in the training room and even one tucked away above his favorite chair in the library. They simultaneously ignore them and do everything in their power to never to be near them in the other's company.
But they cannot escape.
One day they wake up to find every inch of 35 Portland Row's ceiling Co. completely /covered/ in mistletoe. When they awkwardly very far apart from each other make thier way down stairs, they'll find Geroge with tea and biscuits settled into an arm chair in the only clear spot in the entire house.

I want to draw this SO BAD what have you done to me.
Lucy likes to put Skull up on a tall shelf and then put a load of taped together paper hanging down from below with various bodies drawn out for him.

I just started theatre again and the stage managers name is none other than Chelsey. I know it's spelled differently but the urge to bring up the Chelsea Outbreak and Lockwood and Co. in general is just sooo strong everytime we have rehearsal.

The insomnia demons have been growing in strength recently but the good side of sleepless nights is that it gives me more time to consume Lockwood and Co. fan media! This week's fascination has been edits. I'm sure we all know this already but there are some superb ones out there. Now, while I know nothing of editing and have none of the skills to create such masterpieces, I'd kill (joking) to see someone make and edit to Black Out Days by Phantogram. I mean, we already have their song Cruel World in the actual show (and that's how I found this gem), but Black Out Days is so Lockwood and Co. coded sometimes it physically hurts. To illustrate:
Tumblr media
Jessica's room anymone? Lockwood does literally has a black out curtain in there.
Tumblr media
The sunglasses has to wear anytime he's in her room?!
Listening in general but it brings to mind the Red Room or even the Winkman's warehouse.
Tumblr media
Lucy basically speaking a different language when it comes to communicating with the Skull.
We'll get to these lyrics again later but for now I think footage of a good Locklyle moment would be good foreshadowing.
Tumblr media
All the symbolism and instances they used mirrors for filming is just begging to be showcased.
I know we don't have footage of it (yet) but "stay away" is basically Lucy's entire exsistsnce/mantra/what have you in the fourth book.
Tumblr media
Graves in general come to mind, but especially Bickerstaff's
Flares anyone?
Tumblr media
That whole Bickerstaff rising moment would be awesome with this poetic language I think.
Tumblr media
Okay, it doesn't translate very well in text but the way it's sung it sounds like the word "Stay" is just being elongated. The flare scene, "We need you Lucy. Please stay." would go perfectly here.
It literally says haunting and it's perfect for when Lucy's Listening.
Tumblr media
So you know when encountered that last line earlier? Well I think it would be perfectly heart wrenching if it's now mirrored with either the start of episode 8 where both Lockwood and Lucy are still soaked from their dip in the Thames or that moment after the rescue from Winkmans where Lockwood decides not to open up and a part of Lucy gives up on him. (What would be even more perfect is that scene in Creeping Shadow when Lockwood comes knocking on her door but we don't have that on screen. Yet 馃)
Anyway, that's just me. Thanks for sticking around for my ramblings if you made it this far. If anyone ever does or already has made a Lockwood and Co edit to this song someone PLEASE tell me, I'd love you forever.
