I am still going to watch The Love Witch but it is safe to say that Ms. Miller is a little to camp for me.

my mom grew up solidly middle class but my siblings and I grew up poor like never having money for anything the barest essentials and my stepdad grew up poor so we have a completely different mindset towards things like gift giving than my mom. She is never appreciative or grateful for anything so Mother’s Day her birthday and Christmas just end up in a fight because she can’t fucking just say “Thank you”. The nicest gift we ever got as a kids was a Wii one Christmas anything else nice we had was a handmedown from wealthy (yes actually wealthy) family members. Anything new and not from a Payless as kid was like magic. so it really grinds my gears that no matter how much and money goes into getting my mom a gift as an adult with disposable income all she can say is what we could have done differently.

I had youtube on autoplay so I ended up coming back to my room to see some woman recommending "book accessories" and it I realized that so many companies only exist because they have convinced people to buy absolutely useless, unnecessary things which very often cost a pretty penny

thinking about how gen z people online love to pat themselves on the back for being so media savvy and having learned soooo much from the way people like britney spears and anne hathaway and pam anderson were treated by the media and public during their day and then turn around and take part in the same kind of gleeful mass spectacles tearing apart women like amber heard and rachel zegler and like, forcing kate middleton to reveal her cancer diagnosis. and in each of these cases, when someone with power says “hey this is really fucked up,” the reaction is to… spin and blame their behavior on other people? “depp had a bot army,” “the palace publicity messed up!!!” yes but in every instance, YOU were the one making the choice to participate. at any moment you could’ve put your phone down and said “this feels morally wrong, i’m not going to do this.” but you didn’t, did you? we have free will to conduct ourselves better or worse in these situations and i’m sorry but there’s really no one you can blame for your choices

Night of the Hunter
It's an incredible movie, and if you haven't seen it, I highly recommend giving it a try. Robert Mitchum's performance as a preacher/serial killer trying to terrorise two kids into telling him where their father hid his money is probably the best he's ever been. He wanted that role right away, and he brings all the charisma and sex appeal to it that it needs.
I'm wondering if this scene was an inspiration for some of Richard Armitage's scenes as Francis Dolarhyde in Hannibal, with the triangular gable and the extremely deliberate body language/movements.
Internet Archive has the movie, subbed in Spanish
