i know people complain about how slowly people get promoted in Star Trek and how convenient it is that characters happen to have the same position for 7 years without being transferred or anything and obviously that's because it's a television show but i also think it's a good bit of worldbuilding. in this future Star Trek presents, people aren't enticed by prestige or economic benefits of promotion. lower deckers might not have the status as senior officers but they're still valuable members of a crew who do essential work. sure, some people dream of being a Captain and having a ship but that's all internal motivation and goals. i love that some people are perfectly content to remain a junior lieutenant scanning nebulas and replacing power conduits because in Star Trek's postcapitalist world there's no (or at least few) material benefits of "moving up the ladder".

Anyway I'm not gonna touch that internalized lycanphobia with a ten foot pole. Being turned by your partner is something that can be incredibly intimate as long as both parties are consenting and the one being turned is 100% sure they want it. Literally the only downside to transforming once a month is the pain, but midol works just fine. No one with these "lycanthropy bad" takes ever wants to discuss the legitimate positives that come with this "curse" lmao.

lmao my wife literally saved my life when she turned me but i guess she should be muzzled huh? we run through the woods hunting deer together and can each haul in groceries in one trip now, but nooo she's obviously a danger to society because she cares enough about me to help me when insurance wouldn't cover my medicine

In one particular piece of official art for Super Mario Odyssey, Mario’s hair is rendered in great detail. Zooming in to the part above his ear, we can see what appears to be a single gray hair. This seems to be deliberate, as analysis of the image reveals that this is not a transparency issue, but that the hair is indeed colored a lighter color than the rest. Due the image being released in a lossless format by Nintendo, this also could not be a compression artifact.
