So, my spouse has been exploring his gender lately; he also just built himself a new laptop. Today he told me that he in an attempt to process some genderfeels through metaphor, he made a post on a trans forum along the lines of: "I'm a lifelong Windows user and I think I'm pretty good at it. I want to find out what Linux has to offer but I'm afraid I wouldn't be any good at it. And how do you choose the right Linux distro, anyway? Do you have to try them all?"
The responses, he said, were a mix of useful advice about feeling out your gender and useful advice about choosing a Linux distro.
I love trans people so much

i cant get over the king charles portrait. they made that thing to age in his place. that painting hangs in the house of a too-friendly family you find in the post apocalyptic wasteland who inexplicably has a ready supply of fresh meat. if mario jumped into that painting he wouldn't find a charming platformer he would be flayed and hanged like a medieval criminal by an unseeable force in a droning red void. that painting is a color blindness test for people who work in IT but believe in the divine right of kings. that painting is going to weep the sequel to blood. after he dies charles is gonna crawl outta that thing like sadako.

Hi, i don't know if you like asks if not I'm sorry,
What is it about Hannibal and other characters (Chilton,Will) that makes you see them as women or femenine? I really like your analysis and would like some insight
With Hannibal specifically it’s all about his methods, his motivations, and the tropes that surround him. His sphere of influence is the kitchen, the home. His career and his hobbies are artistically and emotionally based, traditionally feminine coded. He presents himself as a caretaker, an upper class socialite, a caring parent, a doting friend and partner, all the whole abusing and victimizing the people who are his friends, lovers, and family. He strikes in the same way women in villainous roles seem to, because most female villains present some sort of subversion of what women are “supposed to do”. They’re sexually active, abusive mothers, obsessed partners, independent and career driven, vain, petty, they exert manipulation and social control through thinly veiled double entendre. They rarely resort to physical violence, like Hannibal himself, but are expertly versed in emotional violence. He also represents a very feminine power fantasy- being able to socially dominate those who dismiss and disrespect you.
As for Will, his gender presentation shifts over time, as power and murderous rage in Hannibal is associated with femininity, queerness, and gender subversion. He starts off in a very traditionally masculine role in the story, an unwashed cop with a fishing obsession, and he is soon being treated like a woman in a Shirley Jackson novel- gaslit, dismissed as over emotional, labeled as insane. Let’s consider that Will, in his role as the “woman in a haunted house movie” is BEGGING others to believe him about Hannibal due to the personal abuse he’s experienced that no one else observes. Including, a bit heavy-handedly, being drugged and having a tube shoved down his throat. Will’s season 2 journey is that of a femme fatale, confronting his powerlessness by resorting to a subtle, seductive method of taking Hannibal down, along with Chilton and Matthew Brown. This all culminates in Will’s hysterectomy. He loses his future and his opportunity to be a family with Hannibal, when Hannibal kills Abigail and guts him horizontally just above the the pubic bone. Will has embraced his true self, an Evil Girlboss, and Hannibal used this against him in reaction to his betrayal. Will is at his most and least powerful here. An evil, subversive woman, pursuing what he wants beyond all reason, but still just a woman.
As for Chilton I just think they’re queer and that they slay.

the "diagnosis" Chilton gave Will during his trial was the one closest to the truth ("Will Graham has never been diagnosed. He won't allow anyone to test him. He has carefully constructed a persona to hide his real nature from the world. He wears it so well, even Jack Crawford couldn't see past it. (...) There is not yet a name for whatever Will Graham is.")
unlike Alana Bloom or Jack Crawford, he saw what a manipulator Will was and that in front of them he played a poor, confused, wounded bird ("(...) A particularly-manipulative one at that. Poor, confused, wounded bird for Agent Crawford and Doctors Lecter and Bloom. And for me, well, I get the psychopath's triumvirate: charm, focus and ruthlessness. The charm, of course, being debateable.")
he believed Will that Hannibal may be the Chesapeake Ripper and said Jack Crawford: "Hannibal once served me tongue and made a joke about eating mine. It's hard not to at least consider it.". Jack ignored him. (I think Jack was already planning some large-scale action against Hannibal, but that's a topic for another post)
he called Dr Lecter "Hannibal the Cannibal"
he understood that Will Graham was alive because Hannibal Lecter liked him that way
criticized Jack for letting Will and Hannibal get closer to each other and then leaving Will alone ("You dangle Will Graham and now you cut bait. You are letting Hannibal have him hook, line and sinker.")
when Jack expressed hope that the relationship between Hannibal and Will was one of those friendships that ends after the disemboweling, Chilton told him: "I would argue, with these two, that's tantamount to flirtation. Will is going to lead you right to him." and let's be real, he was right.
