Apparently Khalid was not allowed to put a hit out on Count Rowe.

Somehow , Yuri found out that he had tried. Khalid was personally pissed off that his Guy also worked for Yuri, but apparently every assassin in a fifty mile radius worked for Yuri and it would have been difficult to find an assassin who didn’t work for Yuri. Khalid still would have liked to be told. The wonderful experience of having Yuri show up at his nap station in the Abyss library yelling about how Khalid was not allowed to murder his adoptive father could have been avoided.

“Sorry, sorry,” Khalid whined. “I thought you didn’t like the guy. I’ll double check next time I try and you-know-what one of your relatives.”

“Of course I fucking hate the man!” Yuri cried. He was absolutely yelling at the top of his lungs about murder, but this was Abyss and nobody cared. “Of course I want him dead! But you can’t - you just cannot - agh!”

“Why can’t I?” Khalid asked, baffled. “I won’t get caught.”

Being a teenage boy sucks. You fall in love with three different people in one chapter. How does he find the time.

"Fodlan’s just a joke to you, isn’t it?”

“It’s not a particularly funny one,” Khalid said seriously. Yuri’s face darkened, and Khalid hurriedly said, “Look, you have no idea why I’m here. I could be here to help the Alliance! I could be here from the goodness of my heart!”

“Uh,” Hapi said, “you aren’t.”

“Of course I’m not! But I could be! I could secretly be a great person, you know.”

“Forgive me for saying so,” Constance said, “but you quite certainly are not.”

“Obviously! But let’s just keep an open mind regarding my character, won’t we?”

“No thanks,” Hapi said.

“If you agree to some light experiments so I can compare and contrast the effects of different spells on personages of different races, then perhaps -”

Yuri looked so exhausted. “No experimenting on domestic and foreign royalty, Connie.”

“Why do you never let me experiment on anybody, Yuri? Do you hate science? Is that your problem?”

“Science has never done anything good for anybody.”

“This is a backwards continent,” Khalid had muttered. None of them had disagreed.

In which Claude and Yuri have some harmless fun, Byleth's secret plotting gives fruit, and Lysithea learns a new word.

Claude would much rather spend his time chasing conspiracies and mysteries than going to class and dealing with a school of maladjusted teenagers with daddy issues, but when the Garreg Mach mysteries begin hitting uncomfortably close to home he may not have a choice.
