awww love them. sorry this took so long!! school has been kicking my ass smh. i might make another drabble for this prompt because i had like three ideas for it..? dunno
Simon loved going to soccer games. He liked the energy and hanging out with his friend group, shouting out cheers at the players. He loved it. But now he had an entirely different yet same reason to love it. His boyfriend, Bram was on the team.
Simon wasn’t going to lie, he’d definitely been crushing on Bram long before “Blue” was even a concept. He wouldn’t exactly say crushing, more like hardcore staring and being really obsessed with his smile. And goddamn, have you seen those soccer calves? Yeah, Simon was more than happy when his Blue turned out to be Bram.
If he was being honest, Simon really had no fucking clue how soccer worked. Apparently, as Bram thoroughly explained to him during lunch, it was more than just kicking a ball into a net. Simon hadn’t really grasped anything when Bram explained soccer to him, he was too busy staring at his lips.
But he was more than happy to support his boy when he played.
“Fuck yeah! Get it baby!” Simon shouted as Bram kicked the ball towards the net, sighing when the goalie caught it but perking back up quickly when he spotted Simon in the crowd.
Simon grinned bashfully as he and Bram locked eyes. His soccer star boyfriend. He liked him. A lot.
Simon was practically whooping everytime Bram so much as ran, wanting to be supportive as all fuck.
“Faster! You got this-” he yelled, stopping as Abby hit him playfully on the arm and told him to chill.
“You sound like you’re having sex.” She deadpanned, causing Simon to choke on the sip of coke he took.
“Jesus, Abby, you can’t just say stuff- YES!” he interrupted himself, the entire crowd breaking into absolute chaos as Bram scored the winning goal, his team going crazy and bear hugging which Simon could tell Bram loved.
After finally managing to wriggle out of the crowd, Simon practically jumped into Bram’s arms, kissing all over his face and smiling when Bram hugged him and laughed.
“Oh my god, babe, you were fucking amazing. Wow. I love you.” he blurted out, not even realizing what he’d said until Bram widened his eyes and looked at him with an unreadable expression.
“I’m so sorry I just- I just blurted that out I didn’t-” he started to babble, mentally scolding himself.
Even though what he said was absolutely true, it was the first time he’d said aloud.
He was cut off as Bram blinked a few times before grabbing his face and kissing him with as much passion as he could muster.
Simon sighed in relief and kissed back with passion as well, completely forgetting they were in public until Bram pulled back with a breathy laugh.
“You love me?” he asked, looking at Simon with adoring eyes and a beaming smile.
“Yeah, yeah I um, I love you.” Simon stammered, “More than anything. Except halloween oreos.” He laughed, grinning when Bram kissed him again, reluctantly pulling back when Garrett wolf whistled.
“I love you too, Si.” he whispered.

can I just take a moment to explain how amazingly appropriate these different gifs are when dealing with internal issues, and then have them out in the open? like when you are holding onto such a huge secret you try to make everyone believe you are okay, which you can tell Simon wasn't fully himself in the first gif. but then the secret comes out and it seems as though your world is falling apart and your all alone. things always get worse before they get better. In the last scene you can see his smile change, he is excited about life and he is just a happy little bean who finally got to exhale…

The way they showed that even people who seem really out at school can still have to deal with homophobic BS at home
How bad Simon was at pretending to be straight like wow relatable
Coming out to strangers/people you don’t know well before your family because it’s easier and won’t change things (especially strangers online yep)
Finding another gay to talk to and just constantly checking your phone
On a related note, the INCREDIBLE PANIC WHEN HE FIRST SIGNS OFF WITH LOVE AND DOESN’T REALISE IT UNTIL AFTER IT SENDS
Trying to figure out who else is gay and being incredibly disappointed when you find out “oh. shit. Well I had that wrong”

Her use of the word “hetero” instead of “straight” which is much more common among lgbtq+ people
Bram’s very creative Halloween costume that’s also overly specific
