Abominations are made out of clay from the earth. Itโs a mix of magic in the earth and witches magic itself that brings them to life. When creating an abomination out of seemingly thin air one is actually summoning clay from the earth to their location then using that clay to sculpt the abomination so they bring the clay to life. This is also why abominations summoned directly from the earth are typically larger then ones created out of โthin airโ.
@magemaestroโ asked: โ come on, i just want to look at it a little. โ
Unprompted // Always Accepting!!
โYou canโt!โ Amity snaps a hint of panic entering her voice as hand shoots up to cover, but not touch, the purple amulet dangling from her neck. She shoves herself away from the table and for a moment wonders if the illusion the amulet casts is going to fall. Will everyone see the freckles that dot across he skin? Will they make fun of her for them? Think sheโs ugly cause of them? Worse yet what if her mother heard this little conversation? Her fingers hover dangerously close to the amulet threatening to touch them and connect to her mother. At any moment she could connect to her mother, telepathically speak with her just by grabbing the amulet. But what could her mother do from the other side? Even now after years of wearing the amulet, Amity wasnโt sure. She knew her mother could talk to her telepathically with the stone. Amity could sometimes talk back. But could her mother see what Amity saw? Hear what she heard? Hear what she thought? Sometimes it felt that way. As though she had no privacy to call her own. No secrets she could keep without her mother or her siblings finding out.
She couldnโt think on that though. Now she had to scramble to save face from her panicked response. She couldnโt let her friend, or at least someone she was supposed to see as a friend, know why she couldnโt grant them such a simple request. She didnโt want to risk any more questions being asked. She already felt like sheโd responded too much, shown too much of her real face to Skara. A part of her does stop to wonder would Skara continue to be her friend if the other girl saw the real her? The her that wasnโt put together and projected like a perfected illusion. But she brushes that thought aside. She felt she knew the answer already and had no desire to face it anytime soon.
โItโs a gift from my mother. I donโt like taking it off.โ It was the truth though not the full truth. The amulet was a gift from her mother and she didnโt like the feeling of not having a necklace. But she hated wearing this thing too. This thing that constantly kept her tethered to her mother. Constantly questioning, wondering what her mother could hear, what her mother knew.
She moved her hand back to hold it tightly with her other hand behind herself. Trying to look put together before her โfriendโ, before her mother should she be watching. It was fine, she was fine. She was used to this so long as she was on her best behavior she wouldnโt get in trouble. Neither of them would. โItโs nothing special anyways. Just a piece of purple tourmaline.โ
ย ย ย ย ย Tail thumps on the ground behind her, so pleasantly surprised she is to meet another worm!! Thereโs no time to waste โ as Miri begins to meow back in turn, perfectly mimicking Ghostโs meow.
ย ย ย Just a very casual conversation between two vaguely feline wormbeasts, one side using the otherโs voice.
By the Bat Queen! Having their own voice meow back at them is sort of unsettling. They look alarmed at first, unrolling themselves from their circle in order to approach slightly closer and sniff the air. Well she certainly doesnโt SMELL like them. So sheโs probably not trying to become them. Still their tail swishes dubiously and they meow back more curious this time.
Theyโre not exactly sure if they want to make someone who can mimic their voice so perfectly a victim. But does that alone qualify her for friend?
@stereotypcd is wondering about Amityโs Father: ๐
Sometimes you remember the good. Most of the time you donโt.

โDadโs always been busy.โ Amityโs hands twist, flex and clench tightly against each other. Trying to keep her body busy so she can focus on her thoughts. โOr... Maybe not always. I kinda remember when we spent more time together.โ She doesnโt really remember how old she was. Just that she was still friends with Willow at the time and her father would walk her to play dates. This was before he, and the rest of the world, changed. Back when she was still young and excited for the world. When the world opened itself to her for countless possibilities. Before she was dropped cruelly into the reality of her own life.
โHeโd walk me to play dates with my friend. When... When it was cold out heโd make mittens for me.โ She looks to her hands vaguely recalling the feeling of warm clay around her hands. She was never sure how he got the mittens so warm. Every time she tried making anything of abomination clay they were always as fluid and icy cold as the clay she worked with. While what he made felt so solid on the inside, perfectly formed to keep the flexibility of wet clay yet hardened enough to stay perfectly on her hands. It was his secret technique. One she thought sheโd forgotten a long time ago. Yet now sitting here thinking about it, itโs almost as though she can feel the mittens on her hands in that very moment.ย โHe was... Okay with her then. Why did he change? Was I really that bad? Bad enough that he thought it was because of my friend? Bad enough he had to take it out on my friends? I could have gotten better. If heโd just come to me, just talked to me. Instead of... Why did he change?โ
Thinking about The Collector in the way of โAn ancient child with god like powers but no sense of right vs wrong/a skewed moral compassโ I believe Amity would actually be able to handle him. Would she be freaked the fuck out by his great power and lack of morality? Yes. Would she see him for the child he is and try to reach out to him because every child deserves a chance and deserves to be loved? Also yes. I believe if Amity got to see The Collector more then just when he was showing his powers and destroying/โfixingโ things. Sheโd be able to reach him. Cause repeatedly weโve seen she is really good and patient with kids even kids who are acting up or giving her trouble. She is patient and kind towards them. I donโt think thatโd be much different with The Collector.
@royalreefโ is wondering about Ghost: is ghost one of those pangur-shaped wormbeasts, confirm or deny
Ghost themselves will be answering this question. Specifically by laying on their back and rolling themselves into a perfect circle with their back paws nearly touching their ears. Their long tail wraps around them only furthering the illusion of a circle. Are they cat? Worm? A perfected circle? An actual spirit just taking the shape of a cat come to comfort a misguided child? We may never know. But they sure are cute!
