Chenford's Breakup Romanticizes Sacrificing Love for Growth
"We're conditioned by now to expect these things and this notion that you can't properly love another person until you love yourself.
It's drilled into us to accept that one has to enter into a serious, committed, healthy relationship with another person with one's baggage firmly sorted through and together at worst or entirely dropped at "best."
Tumblr media
These are ideals that have been imprinted on us for some time.
But one must also wonder if it's fair or even realistic, or is it just the romanticization of suffering for love?
At what point is the narrative that one must sacrifice love for personal growth and evolution put under a scope?
Tumblr media
The real irony in what Chenford is presently facing right now is that to become a "healthier couple" down the line potentially, Tim has to be a "healthier" person now, and the only path toward that is him working on things alone.
But isn't proper communication and learning to navigate how to work through things adequately as a couple essential to being a healthy couple?
Why would and should Tim have to step outside of what he's building with Lucy to figure things out, get his head straight, and work through his demons before he can be at his best within their relationship?
Tumblr media
It would have been far more realistic if they hadn't had to press pause, and instead, Tim Bradford had to work through all his issues with his supportive partner.
Wouldn't the test of their compatibility and overall ability to face problems and whatever else life throws their way be confronting this challenge together?
Chenford has had its fair share of seemingly minute issues since they've gotten together, and from a writer's perspective, it would've been far more compelling to see them work their way through this situation as a unit."

Chicago PD's Most Compelling Characters Aren't Exactly Who You'd Expect
We all have our favorites. Characters we absolutely love and sometimes characters we truly loathe.
But some of the most compelling characters of all aren't the most obvious. So, walk with me on this...

Is Station 19 RUINING Travis?
Our Station 19 Round Table had A LOT to say about the series ruining Travis, the polarizing Vic and Beckett dynamic, how the season is rushing through storylines, and the frustratingly tragic Jack arc.

Hey all, my last ditch effort before I scrap the idea.
I'm the Station 19 Reviewer at TV Fanatic.
I want to run a weekly round table about the show, especially with it being the *final season (#SaveStation19).
I would need one or two volunteers who:
Would be willing to have their name published, if they're interested in participating.
Are open to giving me an email address where I can send the questions
Can have their responses in by Sunday evening, Monday afternoon at the latest.
For context: I'll post a Grey's Anatomy round table as an example of what it looks like.
If you're interested at all, please let me know ASAP.

Suitors' Apathy: How Suits: L.A. Already 'Fails Its Spinoff' with Calamitous Casting
Sorry, not sorry.
Stephen Amell is no Gabriel Macht. Leading a Suits spinoff with all arrogance and no Rizz is a choice.
"But there's also no denying that the announcement that Stephen Amell will be suiting up for this highly-anticipated new series has elicited mixed and certainly strong reactions.
Fresh off the cancelation of his underrated wrestling drama, Heels, Amell gets to waltz into a beloved franchise and helm it; frankly, it's a headscratcher.
Setting aside his many controversies and how people feel about them, Suits LA's spinoff invites comparison to the mother series, and Amell simply isn't a Gabriel Macht.
Stephen Amell can corner the market on "All arrogance and bravado but no charisma."
Stephen Amell has the acting chops. He's done well in previous roles. But Macht's Harvey Specter possessed a deceptively skilled ability to be a charismatic, arrogant asshole.
And thus far, Amell can notoriously pull off the wrong two out of those three. The cast is EVERYTHING for this franchise, and admittedly, Stephen Amell's choice as lead is enough to give many Suitors pause, especially those wary about the prospect of a spinoff and its ability to even hold a candle to the original.
Stephen Amell is many things. He's gruff, capable of pulling off stoic and guarded, and he retains a more traditional and one-note masculine flair. But for a franchise that thrives off of its characters, particularly its leads having that "rizz," as the kiddies say, Stephen Amell is lacking..."

Chicago PD: Burzek's Journey to 'Forever' is a Testament to Enduring Love
Burzek is transcendent.
As far as ships go, it doesn't get much better. It's something that can only be executed as well with the type of history to play around with and the willingness to let the pairing breathe without restrictions.
We've always known that Burzek always chooses each other, so nothing is surprising about that coming into play in the quiet moment of their proposal.
Because, in a lovely play of words, Burzek truly are each other's "safe harbor."
A safe harbor is a place of refuge and protection, and that's precisely what Burzek have always been for one another: a safe space to retreat, a solid foundation for which a ship at sea can comfortably and safely land amid the unpredictability of sea and tumultuous storms.
A safe harbor is essentially a home, and for Burzek, their home is in one another.
It's something both characters have craved throughout the entire series, subtly referenced and mentioned and sprinkled here and there through time, as they've learned that family and refuge can be active choices, and thus, they reaffirmed that they have actively chosen each other.
But what feels monumental and celebratory about the proposal is how both characters are finally in the perfect, stable, healthy places where they can communicate well.
Kim and Adam are more mature and seasoned. They are their best selves as individuals; thus, their romance is also. It feels grounded and real, a house with good bones built on a solid foundation after hard work.
There's comfort in knowing that what comes next for them is real this time. It has the lasting power to carry through the remainder of the series.
They've built and become a family, and there's no going backward, which sets them up to be the most successful pairing in the One Chicago universe that we have constant access to and one of the healthiest.
The prospect of what comes next for them is actually exciting. It's one of the only endgames that pays off and rewards loyal viewers.
There aren't too many or any other pairings across the One Chicago Universe who possess the storied history, longevity, transitions, or Kim and Adam's fortitude and ability to overcome anything.
Burzek has more than earned its bones...

Sooooo, the thing about Hailey leaving is that ... it's time. Potentially what the series needs to revitalize itself.

Lovelies, the first rule of existing on this fiery hellscape of a globe we call Earth is: always trust your gut.
If you can't take anything else away from You're Not Supposed to Be Here, you should reach that conclusion. Never come between a woman and her intuition; actual survival may be on the line.
Also, it's a great time for Chrishell Stause when a new season of Selling Sunset is airing and the queer Lifetime thriller she stars in makes its debut.
Tumblr media
Chrishell Stause is living her best life, yes?
Unfortunately, her character, Zoe, was NOT during the majority of this film, and in true Lifetime cheesy thriller fashion, she had a girl wanting to throw popcorn at the television.
Zoe and Kennedy were so pretty but so dumb sometimes, bless their hearts.
Tumblr media
While it's something that shouldn't have to be said or acknowledged, it's particularly great that they gave the LBGTQ community the same treatment right down to the ridiculous choices by the characters to drive the plot.
Because the second they rolled into town and had that awkward treatment, they should have high-tailed it out of there faster than a bat out of hell....

I'm not pretending that I was a massive Hailey Upton Fan or an Upstead shipper for those familiar with my Chicago PD work.
Nevertheless, I can definitely recognize and acknowledge the impact Upton had on the series and fans and how her departure, especially in the wake of Halstead's, will change many things. Some thoughts...
