Yeah, Yuffie never had a childhood. It was mostly likely always war or some duty that she had to fulfill as Godo's daughter. I was always wanted to see more exploration of Yuffie's past with the war and the aftermath but I didn't find much content that addressed it. I'm happy it's more explicit now.
I love it when Yuffie talks about her past or reference it in Rebirth. She's this happy go girl and then, bam, she's a war survivor. I really want them to explore more on how the war affected her
