Creepypasta is inherently cringy. It's foundations are built on the backs of mentally ill teens and young adults from the late 2000s-2010s. Of course it's self indulgent, we were suffering and needed escapism. Of course some of the portrayals of mental illnesses are less than perfect, we were navigating an ableist world while struggling with said illnesses. Hell, many of us were being abused and the idea of a found family made it so we could make it through another day.
I've been in the creepypasta fandom since I was a little girl. 9 years old, in fact, 2009. The dawn of ARGs becoming popular. I've only recently began creating content because I felt the community has matured enough that if someone didn't like what I did, they'd move on rather than rant and rave over how garbage my art is. That's mostly the case. Mostly.
See, I'm seeing a rise in "mature" portrayals of these characters. Not NSFW "mature", that's always been there. I mean supposedly gritty, realistic, "made for adults" kind of spins. It'd be fine if the people doing it weren't fucking trampling on the heritage of the community in the process. We're a goofy community, and the slenderman is our dad that makes us waffles. We write bullshit, but still entertaining stories about serious topic, then put those characters in goddamn tutus. You can have your cake and eat it too. You just don't have to be unpleasant about it.
My favorite example of this duality is @carnalhaus 's Nine Jeff. His story is heartachingly sad, it's fairly realistic, it's got mature and NSFW themes at times, and yet... we've got art of him in a cat maid outfit. And it's fantastic. The duality of this fandom is what makes it so great. Shunning one part in favor for the other is just a fundamental misunderstanding of the media. Being all high and mighty about how "mature" and "realistic" your interpretation is isn't unique. It's sad.

New headcanon: before Natalie and Chris started dating she would kind of be known as the weirdo or the “mentally ill” girl. Now Chris is an asshole and was popular thought it would be “fun” to date her. Basically for shits and giggles for his friends so when Natalie opened up about the abuse that was happening at home and stuff he first made fun of it with his friends behind his back later on when Natalie showed symptoms of mental illness she actually had (ptsd canon) he got a bit irritated she was there for his amusement but all she did was have flashbacks and cling onto him. Which made her break up because he realized she was actually just traumatized and he didn’t want any of that
When asked why he didn’t break up with her even though he didn’t like her he would say something like that

A/N: For those who like Lute, I definitely recommend going and listening to Jessica Vosk's cover of A Million Dreams. Hearing the voice of Lute sing something like that almost gave me whiplash.
Character: Lute
Type: Headcanons (Lute x reader, Fluff)
It takes a while for Lute to let her walls down around anyone, really. With Adam, he mostly just inserted himself in her life like he belonged there. But when it comes to love, Lute is more than a little reluctant. She views it as a potential weakness, and she refuses to be viewed as weak.
But alas, the exorcist is drawn to you, it drove her crazy in the beginning. She did her best to ignore it, but she couldn’t get it out of her head. Adam had even called her out on it. He was pretty blunt about it too, outright telling her to just fuck and get it over with. That one didn’t particularly go over well.
She can be pretty protective of you too. Fiercely so. Even before you were in a relationship. Once, another exorcist had been talking shit about you, and the end result had been Lute being suspended for a week and the other angel unable to fly for two. Adam hadn’t been too pleased about having to bail her out of that one.
Even if she is confident in your relationship, she can still get a little jealous from time to time. Though, if you purposefully make her jealous, expect to pay for it later.
While the lieutenant might not necessarily mind PDA, it’s a hard no while she’s on duty. Though, I’m sure if you press her buttons enough while she’s on the job, she’ll grab you by the wrist and drag you off somewhere, before pushing you against the wall and kissing you hard.
Lute might be rough around the edges, but that doesn’t mean that she can’t be sweet. While she may not necessarily be one for grand gestures, she’ll still go out of her way to do these little things for you, like maybe leaving behind a couple of little notes for you. Sometimes it’s surprising you with your favorite food, or maybe even an impromptu date. Out and about she might act all tough, but behind closed doors she’s different. That’s not to say that sometimes that softer side will come out around others. It’s gotten her teased many a time by the other exorcists and Adam.
She can be pretty easy to fluster if you know what you’re doing too. Of course, she’ll be sure to return the favor and be entirely too smug about it too. And honestly, the smirk that tugs at her lips will only make your blushing worse.

No okay because what REALLY GETS ME about Adam and Lute's final interaction is that THIS FACE
Seems deeply out of character for Adam. Like, especially considering how he was having the classic Third Act Breakdown right before this? This cocky motherfucker got stabbed by fucking NIFFTY after getting his ass beat by LUCIFER HIMSELF, and yet this is the look on his face as he bleeds out. You'd think he'd be more upset, but he just seems. Accepting. Ready for this fate. Which is COMPLETELY UNLIKE ADAM!!!!!!! The only in-character reason this would be the final look on his face would be that he's putting on a brave face for Lute. Lute who came running over to him as soon as she saw him fall, yelling for him, crying. Adam, the pettiest, bitchiest asshole in the entire goddamn show is putting on a brave face for her. Or he's just like. Happy to see her in his final moments. Which either way they cARE ABOUT EACHOTHER SO MUCH I CAAAAAAAAAN'T-

so i've been listening to the warrior cats audiobooks and there's this scene where fireheart is explaining to bramblepaw and tawnypaw that their father tigerstar is a traitor and it's really dramatic and ends with bramblepaw getting upset and running away but at the beginning it said that fireheart tucked his paws under him so all i could think about was how he was loafing
