something i love about akeshu is the "i know you know" of it all. them being rivals makes very little sense outside of the context of joker being the leader of the phantom thieves, and yet he is the one who proposed that they be rivals. because akechi already knows, and joker knows he knows. their "rivalry" is a game, they're friends hanging out but they're playing a game, how much can they dance around the issue, how much can they say, how blatant can they be without losing that veneer of plausible deniability. but it's not just that, because joker, who is observant enough to notice the discrepancy between what hand akechi shook with and what hand he played pool with, definitely noticed that akechi heard morgana. so akechi thinks he's winning because his secrets aren't part of their game, but they are, because joker knows. he knows what akechi means when he says, "if i'm going to take you out." it's their game. he never tells his other friends, because this is about them. they're friends. akechi talks about murdering him over the phone and they still hang out. they duel in memetos with apparent lethal intent, akechi confesses his hatred to joker, then invites him to jazz jin a week later. he doesn't want to kill his friend, his rival in this game, but a couple days later, he puts a bullet through joker's head anyway.

….I feel I am one of the few people, if not the only one, in the WHOLE POTO fandom that actually hardcore ships Raoul x Christine and was so salty about what happened in the menace of a sequel we will not talk about.

Not my fried brain going way too far into the future atm, but [BIG SPOILERS FOR POST-S3 AND PRESUMED FRAN SEASON] you know how Colin is really present in Fran's story especially? The fact we have Fran starting her story in Colin's season makes me think the writers really get that and want to lean into it and we can expect more Colin/Polin in Fran's season, Netflix and writers and acting availability stars all aligning kindly.

And you know what would be so cool? So cute? Polin returning at the beginning of the season from a trip abroad (REGENCY TRAVEL BLOGGER AND ROMCOM WRITER OTP FTW) with baby/toddling Agatha in hand. Because, just imagine a still-in-mourning-black Fran tearing up while holding her little niece for the first time in a while, or perhaps ever, and her family growing concerned and asking if she is alright. Fran might wave it off, might not, but either way, what if THAT moment of holding little Aggie is what sets off the fire in her to finally step out of mourning and seek the future we know she wants?

It would be so sweet, and an amazing way to parallel the motivating role Colin is expected to play later in Fran's love story, towards the end. A way to have him bookend the story from both ends.

This latest trailer is begging for a polin fanvid set to The Last Time and it kills me that I have to work & do taxes instead of make it happen.

You know what I would love to see in a ‘Colin learns about LW’ reveal aftermath? Eloise sharing her LW archive (not that she revealed Pen, mind you, just after) and Colin going through it and rereading exactly what Pen wrote, considering it in a way he never would have amid the shocks and previous ignorance, and gaining some clarity on Pen’s intentions and perspective all on his own, based purely on the strength of Pen’s written words & his own insight into who she is.

Fun angle I’ve been considering for future Bridgerton is the next seasons featuring multiple siblings at once.

I don’t mean siblings being crammed into one season (no one short-changed!) and they might even have one ‘starring’ at a time, but Benedict & Francesca have stories that span multiple seasons and Eloise’s might require some special/show-original set-up, AND Eloise & Francesca’s did occur simultaneously in the books, even if they were covered in separate books, so why not?

Granted, Polin were supposed to be the third happening alongside them, but if you are skipping the long time skip and slow-burning things with skips between seasons (see: enough time between S1 & S2 for Daphne to give birth to a now toddler) why not swap in Benedict as the third multi-season love story? There’s a lot of interesting ways to play with that overlap while giving everyone screen-time they deserve, and equal to previous couples!

Everyone should read their own fanfics recreationally tbh this shit fucking rules. It's like the author knows exactly what I like.

Some spoilers for the 5th Bridgerton book here, just fyi, but a thought I just had to salvage Bridgerton from the Marina trap they’ve made themselves, assuming they still want to have Philoise but not dropkick Marina as a plot device: What if Marina just leaves him? It would have to be handled carefully since I don’t mean to dismiss Marina or make her look bad in any way, but I mean she does not seem to like her husband, however and however content she was in S2 I think she could have a happier end. Just imagine if they gave her an arc in Benedict’s season or something where SHE finds love again, or maybe not even romance, just a new hope for life, leading to a likely dramatic and unconventional departure, but I think she could still do so while being conscientious of her kids and sending a great message that even if you think you’re duty-bound to your lot in life, holding yourself to it against your own will doesn’t end well for anyone involved, and sometimes the ‘selfish’ choice is the kindest choice as well.

It might be a bit sloppy or iffy, but I want to see Marina truly happy, and I’d definitely prefer that to… well, if you know, you know.
