I love the design of this movie magazine, the food photography being more artistic not shot in a studio feels more relatable and grounded.

Tumblr media
I use Pinterest alot. Like, alot. For studying, finding inspiration, looking up recipies, outfits, design, tips & tricks and anything else. This means I have alot or differently themed “boards”. Some are pretty ordinary like foods or breakfast. But my favorite board to find pins for and always add to the collection, is coffee&quotes. It looks something like this picture (a small collection of the actual collection).
I created it when I first started working with coffee as a barista a few years back. The café were very proud of the coffee they served and and used to come up with quirky captions for the social media posts, which I loved. This mix of photography, illustration, type and design somehow feels very “me”.  I dont know if this would be a part of my FMP, but I wanted to consider it.

Interests
A list of subjects, themes and areas that interest me (and thus, could evolve into a glorious fmp)
Cooking (I used to work as a chef and I still love cooking)
Food
Going to restaurants (there lives a tiny food critic in me)
Cookbooks (I have sooo many. Most just look pretty on my shelf)
Groceryshopping (I can spend hours just walking around a store, looking at all the different foods. Love organic and more “in the now” stores like whole foods)
Cinema
Movies (all the MARVEL movies + Dirty Dancing has a shared #1 place in my heart)
Movieposters
Book covers (I buy books based on the covers. If I dont like the cover I dont buy the book. 50% of the times I dont even end up reading the book. I just like the covers)
Space
Tattoos (they amaze me. Love seeing what people choose to print on their bodies. I love that when tattoos heal, you cant feel them but I think you should? I have one myself but I forget about it.)
Nature
Animals (I die for dogs. Thats all.)
Travelling (Going to new places and then leaving, knowing the map in your head just got a little bigger. Does that make sense?)
Concerts (Thousands of people whom have never met before, but share a taste in music, gather to watch a performance. Its almost always magical. You leave feeling lighter and spend the next week listebning to the performer on repeat. Its a good feeling.)
Dance (I was going to be a dancer when I was younger. But I got hurt and had to quit. I adore watching other people dance.)
Coffee (drinking it, smelling it, feeling it wake you up. Making the coffee pretty and people sppreciating it is great. I love doing it. Its a good part-time job.)
If one was to ask any of my friends about the things I like, they would say food and MARVEL. Perhaps dogs. Also wine.

Post Briefing
Reading through the brief again, I highlight the parts that represents what I think the project is and can be. These also serve as a reminder of what I should aim to do with my final idea.
“...the very nature of deisng is constantly evolving and demands new approaches...”
“...the boundaries between typography, illustration, photography, music, film, literature have never been so liquid.”
“...self-initiated work which demonstrates specialist areas of interest and skills.”
“...their own obsessions, fantasies, conceptual itches that need scratching...”
“...innovative ways of expressing themselves...”
I am trying to find an area within graphic design that I would want to speclialize in but I find it to be very difficult. I enjoy learning new things and so throughout these years of uni I have loved designing in every way I have tried it. Letterpress, web design, motion, books, posters, typography, photography and so on... I cant seem to decide. Maybe I dont have to at this point, just narrow the number down. I have to figure out what I enjoy doing most and what I really want to be good at. Difficult.
