HERE IS ALL ABOUT THE POCKET FILTER/PREFILTER
Pocket filters are the ones that are used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) applications to eliminate dust and dirt from ambient air. Prefilters are used for high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters in the medical sector or in commercial applications.
How Do Prefilters Work?
Many occasions can make use of these filters for air inlets. These air filters are designed to guard the final filters from the numerous conditions based on the circumstances. Larger particles are filtered out by these prefilters before they touch the final filters, avoiding the overloading of final filters too soon. Various types of prefilters are available in the market.
How Do Pocket Filters Work?
Pocket filters are made with the media pieces by sealing them together to make pockets. The media collects dust, and this helps separate dust from the ambient air . Each bag air filter may have a certain number of pockets, whether they have 3 pockets or 6 pockets. The length of the pockets can vary. With these combinations of lengths and pockets, many different sized surface areas can be created. Generally, a surface area having more space gives a longer service life of the air filter and a greater dust holding capacity (DHC). There are different types of pocket filters, including synthetic fiber pocket medium filter, synthetic fiber pocket pre filter, and glass fiber pocket filter.
When to Consider Choosing These Filters?
Prefilters
While choosing prefilters, you may be confused about selecting a particular one or you might have doubts about whether you should use these air filters or not for your air inlets. So let us clear your doubts.
It is the climate conditions that help you decide to choose certain types of filters over others. For instance, in coastal conditions, the environment mostly contains a high amount of moisture, so a type of prefilter filter, coalescing prefilter, can be of choice to upstream the moisture of the final filter. However, using another type of these filters, pleated filters with a cardboard frame may collapse over time, so opting for a filter with a plastic frame is worth considering. Secondly, if these are high-dust situations, you can consider these filters for adding to your air intake inlets. Your final filters can be clogged up with dust quickly and can increase your downtime and cost. So, adding prefilters to your air inlets is a great way to avoid early replacement of the final filters.
Pocket Air Filters
Some types of pocket air filters, like the EFS reverse rigid pocket air filter, are suitable for use in both directions. When the pocket filter is kept in a reverse airflow position, the separators made of plastic stabilize the pockets. So for the high moisture environments, like we said for the prefilters, the plastic frame is perfect because it won’t be damaged like the cardboard frames.
So in conclusion, when prefiltration is critical, you can go for prefilters or pocket filters based on your requirements. Plus, a plastic frame may be preferred for the moisture areas to prevent collapse in high moisture environments. Upgrade your air inlets with any type of air filter. WHAT DISTINGUISHES A PASS BOX FROM AN AIR SHOWER PASS BOX?
Comparative advantages of the pass box with air shower over the standard pass box 1. In order to reduce the number of door openings in cleanrooms and reduce cross-contamination between clean areas, both pass boxes are mostly used to transfer small things between clean areas and clean areas, as well as clean regions and non-clean areas. 2. Mechanical interlock doors and electronic interlock doors are two alternative interlocking technologies that can be used with either pass box. (Can be chosen based on requirements) Double-door interlocks are used in interlocks. (One door may only be opened at a time, and once one door is opened, another door may not be opened.) 3. Stainless steel and cold-rolled steel with powder are two different materials that can be used for either pass box. (Can be chosen based on requirements)
What distinguishes the pass box with an air shower from the standard pass box? A high-efficiency filter air supply system fitted to a standard pass box that allows for 360-degree blowing and no dead angles is an air shower pass box. The air shower pass box is better suited for use in Class 100 and Class 10 high clean spaces, while the standard pass box is excellent for basic item transfers.
The pass box you choose will depend on the environment you’re working in.

GUILDELINES FOR HEPA BOX INSTALLATION
Before installing the HEPA box, there are various precautions to be taken. If the installation is improper, it will directly affect how clean the clean room or dust-free workshop is. Therefore, every installation detail needs to be carefully handled.
Before installation, take precautions.
1. To begin with, we must ensure that the HEPA box’s dimensions and efficiency meet both the customer’s application standards and the clean room’s on-site design specifications.
2. A gasket pad must be used to fill the gap between the HEPA box’s flange and the clean room ceiling plate. Any gaps must be tightly sealed; they are not permitted. Broken or damaged coating The air duct should be tightly attached to the HEPA box, with the open end reinforced with plastic film and adhesive tape for air tightness. HEPA boxes must not be fitted.
3. Keep the HEPA box and the clean room clean on all levels, including the interlayer, ceiling, and air conditioning system dust collection, in accordance with cleaning regulations. Additionally, the purification air conditioning system needs to run nonstop for longer than half an hour before being checked once more for cleanliness.
4. The manufacturer’s sign on the carton box should be strictly followed to ensure the safe shipping of the HEPA box. It should be handled carefully throughout processing and transit to prevent vibration and collision.
5. It is important to check the air filter’s appearance packaging before installing the HEPA box, including whether the media pack, gasket, and frame are intact; whether the sizes and filter model comply with specifications; whether the metal frame has burrs or rust; whether a product qualification certificate is present; and whether the technical performance complies with design requirements.
6. Based on the effectiveness of the air filter, use the PAO scanning gun to perform a HEPA box air leakage detection.

A PRE-FILTER: WHAT EXACTLY IS IT ?
What a pre-filter air filter is the subject of this article.
This tutorial also offers all the information you need if you’ve ever questioned what an air purifier pre-filter is, how it functions, or what it can do for you.
By the time you’re done reading, you’ll have all the information you need to choose an air purifier pre-filter that will effectively clean the air in your home.
Tumblr media
What exactly is a Pre-Filter?
A pre-filter is a type of air filter that removes large particles from the air, such as dust, dirt, and hair. Pre-filters are the first step in an air purifier’s air filtration process. A pre-filter keeps the main air filters from becoming clogged with debris, allowing them to trap microscopic pollutants.
Pre-filters are used in air purifying equipment installed in homes, commercial buildings, transportation systems, and public areas.
Because there are so many different technologies and manufacturer requirements for pre-filter air filters, there are no standardized regulations regarding performance and effectiveness.
What Is the Function of a Pre-Filter?
A pre-filter captures large particles before they enter the air purifier unit. Pre-filter air filters function similarly to sieves. Air flows through the pre-small filter’s pores or netting, while dust, dirt, and hair become trapped on the pre-surface. filter’s
What is the purpose of a pre-filter?
A pre-filter serves two purposes: it captures large particles and extends the life of the main internal filters. Pre-filters are used to protect the main internal filters so that they can filter out smaller contaminants, extending the life and efficiency of the main filter.
On the other hand, an air purifier pre-filter is used to trap particles 2 microns and larger (i.e. dust, dirt, hair, and some pollen).
As you can see, HEPA filters and pre-filters serve two distinct functions, and each is dependent on the other for improved efficiency.
The following was discovered in this research study on improving indoor air quality with air filters: The air in the air cleaners was filtered first by a coarse pre-filter, then by a Rota filter, which captured small dust particles through high-speed rotation. The final filter was a high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filter that filtered 70% of 0.3-m particles and 95% of 1.0-m particles. The air cleaners in this study clearly demonstrated the ability to capture significant amounts of airborne dust particles and allergens.”
The efficiency ratings for the air purifiers in that research study would have most likely been different if a pre-filter had not been used.
Pre-Filter Varieties
Mesh and carbon pre-filters are the two types of pre-filters. Only solid particles are trapped by a mesh pre-filter. A carbon filter captures both solid particles and gases. The type of pre-filter in an air purifier is determined by the other internal filters.
A mesh pre-filter air filter works like a sieve. It is composed of small pores or netting that allow air to pass through while blocking large particles such as dust, dirt, hair, and other debris. A mesh pre-sole filter’s purpose is to capture large contaminants before they enter the air purifier unit.
Do I Need a Pre-Filter?
A pre-filter is an essential part of an air purifier because it sieves large particles that can impede or shorten the life of the filtration system. A pre-filter is good to have because it protects the main internal filters from damage.
With that said, you don’t necessarily need a pre-filter on an air purifier; however, it does improve the efficiency of the unit. Therefore, we always recommend that you choose an air purifier that has at least an activated carbon filter that acts as a dual pre-filter and odor remover.
The next best option would be an air purifier with its own dedicated mesh pre-filter that works to protect the main HEPA air filter and activated carbon filter.

HOW TO MAINTAIN YOUR CLEAN ROOM
In order to ensure the normal operation of the clean room, we must strictly implement the relevant regulations when operation and pay attention to daily and regular maintenance. So, what aspects should the daily maintenance of the clean room start from? How should the clean room be maintained regularly?
Tumblr media
Ⅰ. Regular Maintenance of Clean Room
1. Daily Maintenance
1.1 The cleaning and disinfection of the inside includes color steel plate surface, glass surface, floor and floor drain.
1.2 The cleaning and wiping of indoor equipment, pipes, lamps, etc.
1.3 Scrubbing and disinfection of air shower.
1.4 The cleaning of the outside includes the color steel plate surface, glass surface, floor, sterilization cabinet, disinfection sink, conveyor belt entrance and exit.
2. Monthly Maintenance
2.1 Cleaning and sanitation of the clean room ceiling. If cracks, corrosion or coating on the ceiling and walls are found, sealant must be added and decontamination treatment must be carried.
2.2 The cleaning and sanitation work in the return air duct includes the cleaning of the glass surface, of the color steel plate surface and of the ground.
2.3 Clean and scrub the air conditioner once a month.
2.4 Check the rotation of the fan and air valve, the lubrication of the rotating parts, the bearing and the bearing seat, and add lubricating oil regularly to ensure flexible rotation.
3. Yearly Maintenance
3.1 When the equipment is not at working period, the heat exchanger should be filled with water (close the outlet valve first, then the inlet valve) to reduce pipe rust, but in cold and icy areas in winter, the remaining water should be drained to avoid freezing and cracking of the copper pipe (especially the clean air-conditioning box).
3.2 After two years of operation, chemical methods should be used to remove the scale in the copper pipe of the heat exchanger, and the dirt on the surface of the heat exchanger should be flushed with compressed air or water until it is clean.
3.3 Check whether there is rust and paint peeling inside the air-conditioning box, water tank, and air duct, remove and repair the paint in time; check whether the air control valve of each part is damaged and repair it in time; check the electrical control box, switchboard, and electrical connection to make sure there is no loosening and over-heating, check whether the operation of the meter is normal, etc., and repair them in time; regularly inspect, calibrate the measurement and control the meter and equipment to ensure that its control is accurate and reliable.
3.4 Adjust the tightness of the belt, see the tightness of the fan drive belt or stop the hand pressure over 10mm or tighten it to less than 10mm. Damaged belts should be replaced and equipped in time.
3.5 Under normal circumstances, the HEPA filter is generally replaced once every 5 years at the longest without damage or over-resistance. The bag filter and pre filter can be replaced according to the product and the cleaning quality. The replacement period of the pre filter can be different. Replace directly when the pressure difference is doubled.
If the following conditions are found, HEPA filter should be replaced:
● Air flow speed drops to the limit, even after the pre filter and medium filter are replaced, the air flow speed cannot be increased;
● Resistance of HEPA filter reaches 1.5-2 times of the initial resistance, and the air flow of HEPA filter is 70% of the original air flow;
● HEPA filter is damaged and leaks that cannot be repaired.
3.6 UV lamp generally have a service life of 3000h, but they need to be replaced when the efficiency drops to 70%; the replacement and maintenance, should be registered and recorded for future reference and management.
Tumblr media
Ⅱ. Other Regular Maintenance of Clean Room
1. Number of dust particles
Use a dust particle counter to measure the number of dust particles above 0.5μm and above 5μm in the clean room at regular intervals.
2. Number of colonies
Use a microbiological analyzer to determine the number of colonies such as settling bacteria and planktonic bacteria at regular intervals.
3. Air flow
Measure the pressure difference of the HEPA filter used in air conditioners, and check the leak detection caused by the clogging of air filter, the gap of the installation part, or the damaged surface of air filter. Check the air flow of the air supply and air return with an anemometer twice a year.
