ONE HOUR AGO: greg abbott, who i have the great displeasure of calling my governor, is calling for the expulsion and jailing of ut austin students exercising their first amendment right to freedom of speech an assembly. every single motherfucker on the right soooo concerned about the first amendment seems to be creaming their pants over college students being brutalized and arrested for protesting. its fucking reprehensible.

If a company doesn't trust their idols to sing live wtf is even the point?
#I... am wound up#I wanted to like this group so I was trying to find live performances#Live performance is a big thing for me... all my ults are vocal kings okay?#but... it seems like this company refuses to allow their actual live vocals to be heard#I even went and listened to other groups live performances to compare#you can hear breath and the crackle of the mic on certain sounds... its so satisfying to me#even if an idol makes 1 mistake... you still know the rest of it is 100% real talent#but this group... either the backing vocals are so loud it drowns them out#or its very obviously edited... the little crackles and breaths are either barely audible or gone#Its just... ugh... it makes me want to say they are probably terrible singers but... I DON'T EVEN KNOW!#They might be full of talent... or even just adequate but make up for it in other ways... but like... at least let me judge!#grumble grumble grumble I'm too old and old fashioned

if you give “stupid” characters rural/southern accents i don’t like you and if you give “smart” characters rural/southern accents but it’s a punchline i don’t like you even more
#i had this moment sometime in the last 5 to 10 years#i grew up with everyone around me telling southern us accents and aave were all uneducated#why cant they just speak properly?#without any consideration for what defines proper and why.#it also encouraged me to try to eliminate any trace of my own regional accent which is slowly dying#and now im a little sad i did#but im sure to teach my kids better than i was taught
