10 minute lesson feedback
For my feedback Holly, Rhea and Rudi said that the lesson was actually one of the best as it included humor and made everyone smile and laugh and at the same time learn a bit about the industry.
They also said that it was different from everyone else and that it’s what made it more engaging and fun also because of my personality as I was talking to them asking questions and stopping the video when needing explanation but there is still area to improve.
How to improve
To improve I noticed too late that what I could have kept my lesson as a presentation like the previous tumblr blog as I could have showed the video then I could have got the presentation of the detailed step to step pizza making on screen and whilst explaining and showing the motion would have got me to ten minutes easily instead of adding the delivery section as it is dangerous, stupid and puts people of from ordering even tho it was only made for humour purposes.
The reason I decided to add the driving video was because I did not plan my teach very well and I actually wanted the video to stop at each area or step so I could show and explain the process and techniques but not knowing how to edit videos on After Effects, I had to add the video to make it long enough and manually pause it as I was teaching.

10 minute lesson in steps
The idea behind my 10 minutes lesson was actually mainly to teach the views how their pizzas is actually made and the techniques used to correctly “slap” the pizza as it is called in domino’s is slapping.
Plan
My plan to teach the lesson was to get permission from domino’s to film different stages of the making of the pizza and to show the viewers that all the dough are already made and different sizes so the main thing ton learn is really about the business and the simplicity of making a pizza as in some areas like in Italy they sell already made dough's, but many people do not know the techniques used to slap the pizza so during my presentation I will show them the hand motion needed to get the perfect shaped and textured pizza.
Pizza Slapping
Step 1
The first step on the pizza making is to select the size dough you want or need and use some cornmeal and like a spatula to make it easier to grab.
Tumblr media
Step 2
The second step is to cover the dough in cornmeal and with the hand gesture I showed in lesson create a crust and leaving about one inch for the crust  expand it until nice and round and is the correct size to fit on what we call the ‘screen’ which acts as like a pan so the pizza will not stick to the oven.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 3
The third step is to add the tomato or barbecue base depending on your personal needs.
To make this there is also a technique we use that I did not mention as after you pour the sauce you gently press the center and in a circular motion expand the sauce on the areas needed leaving the crust without.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 4
The Cheesing is the simplest step for the pizza making  as you can put it however you like but use a small amount or it will be too cheesy.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 5
The fifth step is to add the topping wanted. This requires to use for example a pepperoni per slice or two but this is an important stage as it will determine the size of the slices of your pizza as the toppings need to be aligned and leave a gap where you can cut through as it will make it easier.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Step 6
The sixth step is simply to place it in the oven. Our ovens are set to around 240-270 degrees so it only takes around 4 minutes for the pizza to come out ready for cutting.
Tumblr media
Step 7
This is basically the last step as the pizza will be ready for collection or delivery as soon as it has finished cutting.

Post-apocalyptic street
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For my post-apocalyptic poster, I decided to Link it with Manchester United, due to the fact that they were performing really badly under the management of Mourinho.
My plan was to create dark black clouds behind the stadium with on the left corner a view of a tornado coming to sweep away everything in its path.
Whilst making this I encountered few problems as I wasn't sure how to create my own twister and cracks as the ones i got from Google and the cracks I used from Will Smiths task did not fit in well and I knew I had to crack the stadium windows but couldn't.
A way to improve it was to use the similar crack effects and dispersion to break off some pieces of the stadium and uses one of the brushes and hold alt to draw in the sky in what would be the missing parts of the stadium and for Jose Mourinho, I could gave faded him a little more to match the background and given him red eyes and maybe add some lasers coming out of his mouth or eyes.

Font Design Book Cover
During the production of this task, I was not aware of what the final design would look like, I did not like them theme I chose neither the fonts.
The idea behind this task was to make the letter of the word Spider-Man to have spider webs inside as a layer mask, so I wouldn't need to include the character to know what the book is about but it did not work according to plan as the font chosen was way to small and needed to be bigger and the image of the spider web I used was not clear enough.
The aim of this task was to recreate a book title but making it unique and your own just like the examples Liam made below but  the fonts and theme chosen for my work was very limited and lacked creativity.

Alien Task
In this task we were told to come up with reason why an Alien should not invade and destroy the earth.
I do not have the full copy of the A3 poster we made as Charlotte no longer had it but ours was mainly about the love and the crazy about of things they could learn about Planet Earth, and the fact that they can live freely and be themselves as their is freedom to be who you want to be.
One of the other main points I came up with is the fact that there are loads of various exotic pets they could have and feel loved and the extreme environments could be great to explore for them and find the ones they find most suitable for their living needs.

Surreal Landscape
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the surreal task I mainly took notes on the process and how it is made but we were shown various techniques and tools to crest stuff such as Gaussian blur and other ways in which we could create our own futuristic or surreal landscape.
Tumblr media
After this stage what I did was to add a pigeon with abnormally large eyes and orcas swimming through space as this was supposed to be a surreal landscape and wanted to make it as unique as possible, the finished outcome I struggled to export as my memory was full but I will take a screenshot on my computer when my dad returns from Hong Kong during the half term.
Here is the completed poster I found a picture I took of it when I finished making it.

10 minute Lesson
For my 10 minute lesson I decided to make it on how Pizza is quickly made at domino's.
Withing my presentation video, I started the off by introducing what we were going to do.
The difficulties I encountered was that on After Effects you cannot edit an imported video, for example cutting it into different sections as my initial idea.
My original idea consisted on editing a video of someone creating the pizza by cutting it into different sections.
Each section had to explain and show the different techniques you could slap, sauce and cut the pizza, by the video stopping and an explanation and slow motion version of the technique should have come inside the middle of the clip explaining why each thing is made the way it was mad, but because of the problem I encountered I couldn’t edit it as I wished and during the lesson I only showed two hand motion the class had to copy.
My other mission was to test how much memory the class can retain but after the video clip lesson, of course everyone started chatting rubbish...
Because my lesson did not last for the required amount of time, I took a video clip at around 12pm (making sure the was no one around I had to retake the video 4 times as the first few times, a car or someone kept popping out)and teach how not to drive which should have thought people that even at peak times like that you need to be careful about crossing the road and was going to ask the class what it is that I was doing wrong but didn’t get the chance to finish what I was meant to teach or planned to talk about (road safety) as most people started chatting shit and made me feel uncomfortable and when I feel like that I lose all the retained memory and information I was supposed to add.
Overall even tho I did not like the way the lesson ended the class knows how their pizza is actually made and they have base idea of the steps and motion to perfect the shape and maximise the dough.

Restoration
For the restoration lesson we had to get this image from interact and use the Spot healing tool and various tools to restore the womans face as much as possible.
After the restoration I decided to add her lips to the frame to see how it would look so it would act as a background and adds more of me as a designer in the restoration instead of leaving it plain and boring.

Infographic task
During this session we had to create an infographic based on whatever we wanted.
I chose to make a banana choco milkshake as it had to be something simple.
To make this work I firstly sketched work on a piece of paper and scanned it in so I could go over it on Illustrator.
I did not include all the steps as some seemed what the basic person will know and would have dragged too much.

Spot healing tool
After the clone stamp work we were introduced to the Spot healing brush which is the brush that looks like a plaster to get rid of ‘Travis’ chicken pox.
This technique is simple and effective, to make it work and to do it’s job I needed to press Alt and select a clear area near the skin affected and then release Alt and colour over it.
For this task I also got rid of the eye and made it into a Cyclope and used stamp tool to try and blend it.

STAMP Tool
In this session we were introduced into this simple ad effective way of restoration of an image with the stamp tool.
Firstly we downloaded the images required from interact and opened them on Photoshop.
Before starting to edit we must not forget to  Add a new layer so we can edit it in non destructively; then when the stamp tool is selected we need to go on Sample where the editing and details about the stamps brush is and select “all layers” where is usually written ‘Current Layer’
Tumblr media
Secondly we had to hold Alt on the object we want to add and then colour it in, near similar area in this case the flowers so it would look as if it was always there and then color it in as precise as possible  and can chang the size of the tree so it wouldn't look identical.
Tumblr media
After these processes we pressed ‘Shift + Ctrl + S’ to save the image.
Lastly we grouped the layers together and added a new layout where we could do another piece of work but this time was to remove the image.
Tumblr media
Illustrated below are then initial changes we made to the tree, on my first work I added 4 trees then on the second one I removed the tree using the same technique as before but with the purple flowers instead.

For the other one you go through the same steps but instead of adding you remove the trees.

Caricatures 23/11/18
In this lesson we were introduced into caricatures.
Firstly we downloaded a high resolution image of a celebrity and open it on Photoshop.
Secondly we went on the filter settings and used Liquify and we were introduced to the 'Forward Warp Tool', 'Pucker Tool' and the 'Bloat tool' which were what we used to edit the characters face.

After
Tumblr media
Then Lastly we edited another picture and uploaded it to 'imgflip' GIF Maker to make a GIF.
Tumblr media
Face Swap
Even tho thanks to modern technology we can make face swaps with our phones but in Photoshop to do ths you simply get the 2 images you want to edit and  get the pen tool and go aroud the face of one of the chosen make sure it has similar shade to the other photo so the blend will get better and will look more natural and on the selection choose 30px so it has a bit of fade.
After that you need to drag and drop and  on the other photo and to smoothen it out with healing brush or stamp tool.

Here I made another quick  gif of Bhad Babie showing the steps in the change of the face as if it is a surgical changed face.

Where is my mind
To create Where is my mind in bullet points:
Firstly you select the Pen tool, Right Click and select ‘Curvature pencil’
To chop the top of the head off you need to start at the edge of the mans head with the curvature pen tool and make 4 point around the head in the shape of a diamond so it will form a circle.
Afterwards you need to right click, press ‘Make Selection’  and on the feather radius change the pieces to 0 so the shade won’t come through so it will look like it is chopped.
Step 2
You need to go on Layer menu, press New fill layer and choose solid colour and choose which ever you want
After that step press Ctrl and click on the mask it did and turn off the layer
Use the quick selection or pen tool and Ctrl on the tier of the 1st maskand a little plus will come around the head and make selection and can cut it out but keep holding Shift
Press ‘V’ move tool then select the picture layer and Ctrl C on the man layer then Ctrl V it will leave the head then drag head layer at the top
To get rid of the extra white background on the cut out head turn off htr colour layer
Click on the mask part of the original face image and paint with black over the head to get rid of it
Go back and  press Ctrl T and place where you want
Afterwards select the burn tool that looks like a hand and select he colour layer  at the top exposure 20% then where brush tool setting choosea brush soft and round and rasterise fill colour and restart

Post Pitch 2 New Design
Recap
In the first pitch the idea was to create a product that would help and enhance kids memory, through a puzzle which fits the criteria of different kids with different impairments such as hearing, visually and also for it to be engaging to all kids with or without impairments.
The specific of he product is to extrude the jigsaw imagery so it would form like a button you could press to make it have interactive sounds such as the roar/cry each animals made.
An Idea I had was to add something like fur to each piece of puzzle for kids o feel how some endangered animals like the Rhino would feel like if touched in real person as they are too dangerous to physically go to see them and touch them.
Lastly Charlotte's idea was to  add Braille for people visually impaired so it would  be easy for them to place each piece together without help from another individual (teachers, parents).
What problem have you tried to solve and how have you tried to solve it?
During the previous feedback we did not have much negative feedback but to improve the aesthetics of the puzzle pieces, for example it was said that the duck does not look appealing as it is boring and  nit cute to look at as kids love cute stuff and was said to use something cute such as the facial expression of the Rhino.
Also about the plain plank wood is quite boring so got suggested to use a different material add add more engaging colors.
One of the problem we had was working in a group as my ideas I felt like were getting shot down straight away and judged quickly and the guy next to me never spoke a word, and has not been in so I have no clue what he has contributed in this work; When Charlotte got ill I was left to finish the product on my own so I feel like me and Charlotte contributed 50/50 and did not have help to finish the advertisement.

Problem Solving
To solve the problem for the puzzles aesthetics I decided to change the design by a lot, I decided to make into a 3D puzzle shaped like an animal.
The idea behind it is that the kids would be proud of making like a Lego animal by themselves and would act as a motivational criteria, as they would ant to complete the puzzle so they could play with the finished product and at the same time learn. Additionally the kids would want to collect all the various types of shapes of the animal as would ask parents to buy another with different design and possibly exercise for example math, it will have a question like 10+2 and the answer would be on another piece of puzzle
The way it will work is that the design of the puzzle will be similar to the dog below and and each piece of puzzle will contain an animals name, colour, sound board behind or under then small thumb sized section for the fur.
To improve this design and to make it more appealing to kids the product could have stuff such as clothes for the finished product they could put over it so it would look like a normal dog toy and cover the other animals so they can also play with it as a normal toy and maybe add  detachable wheels the kids could use as car or if light enough ride with a string in which will be used to pull, and to make it more exciting the buttons in which the roar and cry of the animals comes out could have like a setting to make it bark as you pull it or simply press it when you want to.
Lastly the product could come in different sizes depending on the purpose you want it to have as some people would not be able to afford the bigger one in which a child could seat on.
Tumblr media
Packaging
The Packaging illustrated below is what the product would look like if purchased in a shop, the materials used would be mainly biodegradable objects such as cardboard and less use of plastics as the harm the environment.
Also the reason it shows different animals and their habitats is because the product will come in different shapes of animals and where the dog is would have the image of  the animal chosen and it's habitat.

Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
What feedback did you get from the focus group in pitch 2?
In the pitch two my fellow colleagues/ students said that design was improved but they do not like the fact that I got rid of the braille which makes it less suitable for eye impaired kids but loved the idea that It takes the shape of a thick animal you could possibly ride.
Do you agree with it? Why?
I personally agree with the feedback as the dog looks way better than the boring pieces of puzzle we had, as kids don't like common puzzles you will need something more modern to get their attention.

Post Pitch Review
What problem have you tried to solve and how have you tried to solve it?
During the developing of the idea to create a product that will help and enhance kids memory, the problem we came across was for the electrical button and system inside the puzzle block as they would need to be very think to make enough space to fit in all the electrical wiring inside of the product and the systems is a bit vintage, so what I did is changing the material of the product to a plastic would make it easier to insert the electrical wiring as you can produce the puzzle pieces using a 3D printer instead of sawing and using a sandpaper to sand down the whole in which the wires and batteries would go into but instead printing it and making it proportional and easier and it is less time consuming.
Describe the product and link to the educational theory you have researched previously. How did it go? Were you properly prepared?
The product fits the criteria for most of the visual and hearing impaired individuals, due to the fact that we knew about these disabilities and what we planned to do, was to extrude the imagery so it would form like a button to press making it have interactive sounds kids would like.
In addition as the imagery is extruded the individual using it can easy touch it and roughly feel how the animals face is shaped and I decided to add texture to the other piece of jigsaw as it’s is a fun way for kids to learn about the different colors, shapes and texture of an animals as it is hard to get a change touching these animals as most of them are too dangerous or endangered species you are not allowed to see and touch in person, so it would be a good way to get in contact with how the fur of a certain animals is without putting them or yourself in danger.
I would say we were properly prepared and went through all the possible options and faults that the reason we did not get much feedback on how to improve our work.
Another problem I encountered was the background for my illustration as mine was supposed to show the  version made from a different material but I did not want to have a boring grey on grey background so I decided to add a camouflage texture color to it.
What comments and feedback did you get?
My comments were based on the wooden materials and the  braille which I personally did not understand as my drawing and presentation was specific on how it was going to affect children with special needs.
Was the feedback generally good? The feedback was in general good. we did not have much negative points, the idea behind why we decided to make this product was quite simple and effective as it is easily understandable.
Do you think the suggestions would improve the product?
I believe with the suggestions I could improve the product much more as the duck does not look appealing to me especially kids as it is boring and not cute to look at, whilst the rhino has a cute facial expression and would be loved and recognized more if you see the product in public.
Also to improve the product kids like colours so the plain plank of wood is quite boring to look at so I could try to make it look like a different material and add colours more engaging.

Memory Write Up
                                               Memory Write Up
 1)  In the first session we were introduced to how the human brain remembers stuff and learn.
Firstly we were introduced to the several of types an individual learns which are: visual, auditory, verbal, physical and logical.
After it we were given some words in an order, which we had to try and memorize which were:
Apple Tree
Lion
Mouse
Car
Crown
King
And some others I do not remember.
Learning is the acquisition of knowledge or skills through study, experience, or being taught.
To improve learning you could do it in 10 different ways:
·       Focus on the relevance of what you’re learning
·       Take time to reflect and self-explain
·       Use a variety of learning data
·       Change things up as often as possible
·       Identify any gaps in your knowledge
·       Establish clear learning goals
·       Practice generalising
·       Make your learning social
·       Use analogies and metaphors
·       Find daily opportunities to apply what you’ve learned
Also to improve your memory you can, give your brain a workout memory requires to use it or lose it.
1.   Don't skip the physical exercise
2.   Get sleep
3.   Make time for friends
4.   Keep stress in check
5.   Have a laugh
6.   Eat a brain-boosting diet
7.   Identify and treat health problems
8.   Take practical steps to support learning and memory
 2)  Studies on the brain:
Memory has been the subject of investigation among many 20th Century psychologists and remains an active area of study for today’s cognitive scientist.
The Theory of memory known as the multistore model was proposed by Richard Atkinson and Richard Shiffrin in 1968. This model suggested that information exists in one of 3 states of memory: the sensory, short term and long term storage Information passes from one stage to the next the more we rehearse it in our minds, but can fade away if we do not pay enough attention to it.
Information enters the memory from the senses - for instance, the eyes observe a picture, olfactory receptors in the nose might smell coffee or we might hear a piece of music. This stream of information is held in the sensory memory storage and because it consists of a huge amount of data describing our surroundings, we only need to remember a small portion of it. As a result, most sensory information decays and is forgotten after a short period of time. A sight or sound that we might find interesting captures our attention, and our contemplation of this information - known as rehearsal - leads to the data being promoted to the short memory storage, where it will be held for a few hours or even days in case we need access to it.
The short-term memory gives us access to information that is salient to our current situation, but is limited in its capacity.
Some information regarding people that we have met, important life events and other important facts makes it through the sensory and short-term memory stores to reach the long term memory.
Memory in Genders
In general, males are better at spatial tasks involving mental rotation, but females have superior verbal skills.
Males are far more likely to pursue math or science careers.
Gender differences in math are not consistent across nations or ages.
A number of imaging studies have demonstrated that the brains of males and females show different patterns of activity on various tasks.
Nicotine has been shown to differentially alter men's and women's brain activity patterns so that the differences disappear.
Both oestrogen and testosterone have been shown to affect cognitive function.
Training has been shown to bring parity to differences in cognitive performance between the sexes.
Age also alters the differences between men and women.
A lot of studies in recent years have demonstrated that oestrogen is an important player in women's cognition. Spatial ability in particular seems vulnerable to hormonal effects.
This studies go on unto different fields of study such as memory in animals and children.
Researchers are finding exciting new evidence to suggest that men and women don't simply appear different, they're actually wired differently, too. Researchers are quick to point out that there is no calculable research to suggest that one gender is more intelligent than another.
However, there are some structural differences that may explain why men are generally better at remembering driving directions and women are generally better at remembering emotional events like anniversaries and weddings.
In kids brains when children learn and remember things they experienced as babies or toddlers, such as the alphabet song, this knowledge is considered “implicit” memory. The average age of the first “explicit “memory that can be recalled by an adult is not until about three and half years old, on average. An episodic memory plays out in the mind like a story. The preverbal diaper years that precede the first episodic memory are usually lost somewhere in the ether, a phenomenon referred to as “infantile” or “childhood amnesia.” Experts agree that older children and adults don’t typically retain memories from this period because the memories were made before language was a big part of their lives.
Mainly in kids before the age of 7 they experience a strange phenomenon known as childhood amnesia.  Kids can remember events before the age of 3 when they’re small, but by the time they’re a bit older, those early autobiographical memories are lost. New research has put the starting point for amnesia at age 7.
From a site I found out that: (Over the next 6 years, different groups of children came back at age 5, 6, 7, 8, or 9 to the lab and were questioned by the scientists on the events that happened when they were 3. Since the researchers knew the details of the events, they were able to probe exactly how much the kids remembered -- and how they spoke about the memories.
The result? If the kids were between 5 and 7 at time of second interview, they remembered over 60% of events, Bauer tells Kinder Lab. But the children who were 8 and 9 remembered 40% or fewer of the events, and they had begun to talk about their memories in a different way.
“We think that it has to do with basic biological processes, as neural structures undergo a lot of postnatal development,” says Bauer. “Early in development those structures are working, but not very efficiently -- children are forming memories, but through natural processes those are fading and becoming inaccessible. By the time you reach adulthood, those memories are working very effectively.”)

Different Style of learning and teaching
The problem between teaching and students learning is that each teacher has a particular style and so do most students.
The problem is that teachers and students don’t always match.
You may notice that children learn differently than you do causing you to question why they’re not as interested or not “catching on” the same way you did at their age.
Also people wonder why some teachers were “better” teachers than others or why you liked a certain subject over another.
These are actually very important information to know. Educational science has studied these questions for years and has determined that when some individuals struggle with learning it may be entirely a question of how they are being taught.
People now a days have different learning styles and different ways to learn that why some teachers used variety of teaching methods as everyone is different for example some use visual learning methods such as images, pictures, and spatial understanding.
Whilst others use learning styles such as Aural, Verbal, Physical, Logical, Social and Solitary.
