I mean I know they don't think about everything the same way we do but I think and hope that they appreciate getting pats at least as much as we enjoy patting them
while its not necessarily a natural behavior to enjoy being touched by people, cows love being groomed and will groom eachother to reinforce social bonds! so people can replicate that by brushing and petting them and some cowies really enjoy that!!
it really depends on their body language, if theyre leaning into it or leaning away, if theyre vocalizing etc etc! just keep an eye on them :3
