Some Updates
Don’t worry Dib, this won’t hurt a bit! I’ll even hold your hand uwu
My goal is to finish Chapter 4 part 2 of The Last Irken by this weekend for those wondering about that! Thank you for all your kind comments about waiting patiently for it! It is a lot of work though and I’m a slow artist who most likely has adhd. I don’t blame anyone when they ask when it’s coming out, but just know I’m not very fast and I’m doing my best. :’)

In other news I’ve uploaded most of my Invader Zim art and comics to my pixiv. Tumblr and twitter are not the best places for uploading art and I know it can be annoying trying to dig through someone’s blog just to find their work. I’ll try to dump my new art there about once a month.

Lastly, I don’t believe I mentioned it on here yet, but I ended up not taking that job I was offered a little while back. Ngl it made me absolutely miserable and I’m really happy I chose not to take it. But with the corona virus I haven’t been able to find anything else yet. If you enjoy my art and want to donate to my ko-fi I greatly appreciate it, send me a message through tumblr and I can draw you a little sketch in return as a thank you. But please don’t feel obligated! If you want to support me in other ways, you can reblog my art, especially my comics. :) I’m going to try to get some merch out in the next couple months as well.

Any tips on how to make a glowing affect in digital art? Like the star in your Maki art piece?
oh that’s actually v simple
what I usually do is draw everything as usual; sometimes I make the glowy things in white so it looks like they’re somewhat brighter in the final piece
then I add a new layer and set it to ‘Add glow’ (that’s on the CSP settings but there’s something similar in PS and SAI too; I think all programs do at this point)
so with the ‘add glow’ set it looks like this
and without the layer mode set it actually looks like this
and then you play around with shadows and light so it really gives the effect of ‘this thing glows’!!! and it’s done
