I'm looking forward to what Elsa's hawaiian clothes will look like.
I have had this idea for a while if a Moana crossover where Chief Moana finds Elsa in a giant ball of ice, Avatar-style, and Elsa temporarily loses her powers and has to learn Hawaiian
(I normally don't like sketching on paper but I was in a car for hours and that's why they look super shaky🥺)

Finally found who Lasseter is. Wew. Took me a while to find out how he is connected to Elsa and Frozen.
Now, I will only consider Frozen, Frozen Fever and OFA as Canon. But I still appreciate the visuals and songs in F2.
Wait what? What do you mean Jen Lee and Chris Buck didn't have a "guide", in that post discussing Queen Anna?
I meant what we know about the BTS of Frozen and Frozen 2.
John Lasseter is the reason ELSA is ELSA.
Not Jenn, or Chris.
This is one exemple of how Lasseter helped to CREATE ELSA:
But there are more. Elsa is his creation, not Jenn’.
- He didn’t want her as a villain, he was the one who pushed to make her “good” (this comes from an interview). Everyone was into Evil Elsa and he had to train them to see her as good.
- He forbade every decision that could make her see her in a bad light. He even refused to show the outtakes of her “evil song”.
- Her famous sexy walk during “Let It Go”? His idea.
- He was supervisor of OFA too, that’s why it’s so good.
When he left/asked to leave/fired, whatever....because of #metoo in the early stages of Frozen 2 development, Jenn and Chris were left, unsupervised, to play with Elsa.
Now, don't get me wrong, if he really did something wrong, he deserved to lose his job. I’m just sorry ELSA paid the price.
Jen and Chris were left to do as they please with Elsa, while they don’t really feel her.
- Why do you think Jenn had to write diaries to try to understand her characters?? Elsa’s never been her character.
- Why do you think she asked “help” to Kristen Bell??
She wanted to give her own spin to the story, and she did it by adding personal experiences to the story. But she didn’t realize those experiences didn’t fit the characters and the franchise.
Lasseter used to gave her directions, he helped her to see “the light” lol, but he left before Frozen 2 was completed. He was involved in the beginning, when he said F1+FF+OFA+F2 were ONE BIG STORY.
(Btw Lasseter conceived the story of Toys Story 4, the movie who won the Oscar this year).
But he left Frozen 2, and Jenn started saying the shorts weren’t canon, then they were canon again, etc.....the mess started.
He wasn’t there to help them, to tell her how to fix the story, and to tell her what SELLS.
That’s why I have no hopes for the future. I have zero faith in Jenn. The one I thank for Elsa is not her.

So the new trailer for Frozen 2 came out and while watching Elsa parkouring the sea this passage from “A Frozen Heart” by Elizabeth Rudnick popped into my mind
so, “not a bastion of quiet” and what is the first image we see
a roaring sea.
“no sandy beaches”
sound about right
“rocky”
check
and “gleaming black rock that was found only in the Souther Isles”
guess we have a match

Worst part about drawing this dress is having to pretend I understand how fabric works

This looks weird. But heck, it fine.
I'm also using a new program now. Much much easier to use than photoshop. I'll need to practice some more. Fortunately the keyboard shortcut are almost the same. So weeeee..
