``Try to tell me I never mattered. Tell me I’m not magical, I’m not special, I’m not a perfect fit for this silly little world that we are all sick of. Because you’re wrong.``
Honestly? My main piece of advice for writing well-rounded characters is to make them a little bit lame. No real living person is 100% cool and suave 100% of the time. Everyone's a little awkward sometimes, or gets too excited about something goofy, or has a silly fear, or laughs about stupid things. Being a bit of a loser is an incurable part of the human condition. Utilize that in your writing.
when i had brain surgery last month i asked if they could take a picture of my brain for me. they brought my phone into surgery with them and the nurse took several videos and gave me a sticker. now i just have videos of my brain like pulsating with my heart beating on my phone and everyday i’m like.,. i could just post it… anyway here’s the sticker they gave me
jealous as fuck. not of the brain surgery i hope you're alright, but i have never wanted to be in a club so bad.
Among those arrested in Atlanta today were Noelle McAfee, Chair of the Philosophy Department at Emory University. You can hear her ask the PhD student taking the video:
“Can you call the Philosophy Department office and tell them I’ve been arrested?...I’m Noelle McAfee, I’m Chair of the Philosophy Department”
i think that people should start using “in poor taste” as a descriptor again given it is often the most applicable and clearest phrase when discoursing about media and analysis; sometimes a piece of art isn’t actually THE most problematic thing of all time is is. just in poor taste (not JUST in poor taste as a reductive take on potential harm but/and as in regardless of intent the impact is this was an offensive or stupid take/choice)
shoutout to all the fat people i've seen wearing whatever the fuck they want in public. shoutout to the fats who wear the skimpiest clothing. shoutout to the fats who wear alt fashion, including cutesy kinds. shoutout to the fats who go to the beach shirtless or on bikinis. shoutout to the fats who wear stripes and light colors, or other clothes we're told aren't flattering on us. shoutout to the fats who wear athletic wear. shoutout the fats who wear the comfiest oversized clothing. shoutout the fats who wear what they want regardless of what thins/"fits" think.
all of you are marvelous and have slowly but surely inspired me to wear whatever the fuck i want as well. i wish you and all other fats nothing but happiness and comfort in self expression <3
