Sneakily taking another sip, Mia chuckled. "I'm getting these..for good measure." she shrugged a shoulder picking up a couple of bottles. They were definitely not going to go to waste. "Honestly, maybe it was a lucky guess..but hey, you picked great! We should google cocktails to use this in." || @missxrivera

Ramsey was surprised how the other woman had picked that up with the flower from just tasting it briefly. How did anyone know what a lilac tasted like, but looking at the descriptions it was obvious she was right. “ shit you’re right? How did? One of the things Mia hated being back in town was the lack of private parking. Walking down what was practically an alley while fixing stuff in her bag, Gabe would tell her was a sure way to get in trouble but there were moments where Mia just couldn't help it.

The girl in front of her looked scared, uncomfortable and in need of a drink. "Hey, hey, hey..deep breaths." she tried to sound calming as possible while approaching and checking her up and down. No wounds, which was good. "What's happening? Tell me what you need..." she said having recently found that stressed people found it more comforting when she spoke in a low voice and asked them to voice what they needed. || @jadejefferson

Jade hated having to answer to anyone, she wanted to scream sometimes. This was about to become one of those times, she really wanted to get away from this guy but he kept following her. In a last-ditch effort to get away, she ducked behind a wall, and whispered hurriedly. “Please, save me.”

Not going to lie, it was fun watching him sweat a little bit over flowers. Flowers of all things; a thing of nature with a very small lifespan really. She never understood why men liked to give them to women as a symbol of love; they died. "Well..." Mia chuckled. "It's not going to solve them but it'll buy you some time and get you a foot in the door." Lips pressed together while nodding her head she added "Take the win." || @nick-keane

Nick's grin spread almost from ear to ear. It wasn't exactly cute that he was going for, but he was kind of glad he got there. If she gave her approval, then it must be working in some way, shape or form. "Ribbon, ribbon, ribbon," he looked around and found the assortment that was available, and picked one that suited it. "Alright, we're set. This is the winning bouquet right? The one that'll solve all my problems...probably?"

"Three." she nodded her head. "Spanish is my first language..then I leant English as a kid..and I took French in college. For work."

Mia sighed. "I should probably tell Gabe or my dad about this but..." shaking her head a little she offered "Since my mom died, I've been dealing with her stuff and..I've found a lot" she paused shaking her hands a little, she emphasized "like a lot of boxes..jewelry boxes, shoe boxes..but they were all either locked or hidden." Mia made a face "Those I could open had a couple of safe deposit keys in them and papers I couldn't make sense of..so I'm thinking maybe my mom wasn't such an innocent socialite as I'd like to think." Mia sighed thinking maybe she was predispositioned to think the worst after what had happened. "I don't even know..."

Warner finishes his set of bicep curls, attaching his phone to his selfie stick and flexing his arm for the camera. It's only then, after snapping his third or fourth selfie, that he notices somebody in the background. "Oh, shit!" He exclaims, glancing quickly over his shoulder. "You don't mind do you?" He asks, jerking his thumb towards the camera. "I think you're in my background and I know some people get annoyed by that."

Tina all but blushed looking at the other girl. Aw, it was cute actually, she was having a girl crush. "Criminal, right?" Mia asked softly, eyes on her sister. "But we're working on it." she offered and Tina nodded timidly. She couldn't wait for Tina to go back to her old self; the funny girl who made everyone giggle and told them random facts that no 11-year-old should be interested in knowing to begin with.

Snorting -very unladylike of her, admittedly- Mia glared at the babysitter. Her stepdad clearly didn't know who to pick them; this was the third one Mia was going to fire. She was yet to find a good fit for them; meaning, someone Tina would like enough to actually want to be around, bond with and open up to and someone Mia would trust enough to help her navigate this weird brand of parenting. Mia glanced at Tina and then the girl and they both laughed. Tina said confidently something about liking cupcakes though and Mia chuckled "We do like cupcakes". Raising to her full height, Mia offered a firm handshake; the kind she learnt early on to establish herself as a strong woman, it was something that came to her naturally now when shaking hands. "Mia Avila. And this is my sister, Tina" she introduced the girl who tried to mimic her posture. || @fxckaubreycarson

Aubrey watched the other as she gave the child a once over, knowing the moves well because the amount of times she’d done it herself when one of her charges fell over or ran into something. Which was alarmingly often, small children really were like drunk ice skaters at the best of times. “We did - you not usually making friends champ?” She asked teasingly with her big bright smile following quickly after, wanting to get the other little girl to smile again because she knew the woman in charge of her must be worried. It was etched all over her face. 

Glancing over at the woman who was still paying very little attention to what was going on she raised her eyebrow, nodding towards her. “They were meant to be watching her? Oh yeah….I think their attention has been pulled elsewhere. But no harm done, she did me a favour to be honest because if I hadn’t needed to pay attention to finding you with her, I’d no doubt be on my third cupcake of the day.” Thing is it wasn’t even a joke, she’d been preparing to buy another as the little girl had come into view looking distressed, so it was a beneficial situation for all involved. “I’m Aubrey by the way.” Offering her hand to the older woman. @beautyxnthefire

Tilting her head to the side, Mia tried to give him space to do it on his own. Though not a flowers' kind of girl, she knew that it took men some extra effort choosing them. She assumed the girl they were for would appreciate them even if the combination wasn't perfect. "This is kinda cute actually." she chuckled smiling. This was the most pleasant she had been lately; it was almost foreign. "Now pick a nice ribbon or something and you're golden." || @nick-keane

Nicholas rubbed the back of his neck, not totally oblivious to the fact that maybe she was hinting that he had done it wrong. Alright, so maybe it was overkill to put all the flowers together, but he really didn't have much of an artistic eye. He gave her advice some thought, and began picking out the flowers that he felt didn't fit or he assumed the receiver wouldn't like. Then, he turned it around to show it to Mia. "...Do I get a pass?".

GOSSIP GIRL (2007–2012) 2.03 The Dark Night

There's the thing about worrying; once it creeps in the first time, it never goes away. Mia was not used to being the one worried about people, especially tiny humans. She had almost forgotten what it was like, being responsible for keeping someone alive -it had been years since she raised her own mother. Maybe Mia had gotten too comfortable in her independence...

Checking Tina up and down for any cuts or bruises or a damn hair out of place, Mia felt her heart go back to its regular rate once she knew the girl was fine. She was a timid little thing, she wouldn't make a fuss even if she was hurt so she had to be extra vigilant. As the blonde girl spoke with ease, Mia let out a slow long breath. It didn't slip her attention that Tina had told the woman her name and got to describing her when she hardly talked to anyone else. "That's nice" Mia smiled, first at her sister and then at the woman. "You two made friends, huh?" she asked amused. "That's new for you." she grinned, running a hand over Tina's hand and glared at their soon-to-be fired sitter. "Thank you so much for getting her..someone here was too busy checking the sights. Clearly." || @fxckaubreycarson

She’d been minding her own business licking the frosting off a cupcake when a little girl wandered past looking wide eyed and confused. Aubrey had been the lost kid enough times in her childhood to know exactly what one looked like - and this girl was a classic Bambi post mother being shot situation. She had no idea what she was doing. “Hey sweetie, you alright?” Careful not to ask her in a way that was too full on because the last thing she needed was some weirdo jumping out of the crowed to accost her. “Who are you here with?”  Once she was told in a small voice that the girl was with her big sister she nodded, one hand moving to sit on her shoulder. “Alright, well where did you last see her? Looks like we’ve got ourselves a bear hunt. I’m Aubrey, what’s your name?” 

Making casual conversation as she did her best to scan the crowds for anyone who looked like they were searching for someone, only for her eyes to land on a very frazzled looking woman. “Hey - is that your big sister?” Pointing over at her before suspicions were confirmed as said woman clearly recognised the kid. “No worries - she was just wandering over there looking a little bit confused, but you’re all good, aren’t you Tina? She was describing you in detail to help me find you.” The blonde chuckled. "Don't worry, very complimentary things." @beautyxnthefire

Knowing herself, Mia was certain that once her mind settled and embraced that this was in fact real and not a dream, fantasy, mirage or something out of a concussion she’d have a billion questions for him. Most would be silly -like how he really took his coffee or if he actually hated her cooking- compared to the things she should actually ask him. She also knew that for a chance to have him again she’d accept just about every devastating truth he’d give her. Thinking of devastation; how heartbreaking it must have been for him to hear her call her by a name that wasn’t really his -or have to wonder if she’d love Gave instead of Owen. Her heart cracked a little more for him…

She sighed burying herself in him. “I like you” she smiled tilting her head up to look at him “I like this” she added. There was a lot they had to talk about; a lot of things he had to be given time and space to get off his chest, she knew. Time, how odd to think they had that… Despite herself, she giggled a little when he kissed her face. This man..he could make her brain shut off and be another girl -a softer one. Shaking her head a little she moved her eyes left to right, peaking around them to a few people looking at them oddly while others ignored them. “Yeah” she laughed shaking her almost forgotten car keys enough to make them jiggle. “Let’s go. Anywhere. Everywhere.” she paused for a second “You too live here, right?” Mia asked checking. || @is-it-gabriel

To be honest Gabe didn’t actually know where to start when it came to filling her in on who he actually was and what his life had been. He wanted to tel her everything though. All the last secrets he had to keep from her because of his work that he hoped to one day reveal if they got out of LA alive. It turned out they had but there was just too much to say. He needed a bit of time to sort of pull all of the thoughts in his head together so they could start fresh. He wanted to do things right. After all he had all the time in the world to begin again.

“ there’s no more secrets. It’s really me. “ he assured her with a small smile before pressing a kiss to the side of her face. He knew this didn’t fix all of his problems after getting hurt but it was a huge start to repairing the trauma he had dealt with. He only hoped he could do the same for her. “ wanna get out of here?” @beautyxnthefire

Oh God, people were not making it easy on her to be a good person... Mia rolled her eyes. "You don't put all of them together." she exclaimed as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Well, maybe it was to her, cause her mother liked flowers back in the day but, well, men were not clearly as versed. "You choose..and combine a couple. It's about what the other person likes." she said, easily, trying not to be mean. Plus, it wasn't like she missed the 'her' bit in the man's sentence; it wasn't her thing but there were girls who liked receiving them... || @nick-keane

Nick's eyes darted to the different flowers she was suggesting, unsure himself if he was even looking at the right ones. "That's quite a few. And there's a lot of colours for each too. They're nice and all but do you think they're all going to go together? At this rate, I'm going to getting her a whole garden,".

Mia looked at the young woman with a stone cold face. She was carrying plush toys but her hand was not attached to the person it was supposed to be; you know, an 11-year old girl who happened to be Mia’s little sister, Tina. "What do you mean you don’t know where she is?” she asked trying to remain calm while a billion and one horrid thoughts were crossing her mind. God, she had to call Gabe, he’d know what to do..and then tell her stepdad. “My father hired you to watch her till I got to pick her up. Where.Is.My.Sister?” she asked the girl who looked annoyed rather than worried and sorry.

She was going to scream until– Tina’s voice calling out her name in the distance, bouncing rather happily holding the hand of a blonde girl. “Oh God…” she sighed, thankful. “Where were you? she asked Tina before turning her attention to her new favorite person of the day. “Thank you. Where’d you find her?”
