“they’ve told me i have to stay here. supposedly everyone’s gonna be in here so they’re saying no one’s going to need help, but i’m not buying it. they just won’t let me go out.” hayden let out a sigh, raising her eyebrows as her sister tucked her arms behind her back, soon deciding to shake off the weird behavior. “it’s just annoying, i just wanna help. if anyone gets hurt because i’m stuck here – i couldn’t cope with that.”  

gia frowned at her sister’s annoyance, she could see that she just wanted to help. ‘you want me to see if i can get you out?’ it wasn’t exactly what gia herself wanted but she knew the feeling of helplessness would be eating away at hayden. she kept hayden at her side, willing her not to see the ring, she would hide it in her purse later but she couldn’t take it off right now.

now-its-3am​:

trying to make her way back inside after helping a few people who had been trampled on the way into the school, hayden bumped into someone. trying to reel in her annoyance, she looked up trying to figure out who it was before getting too mad. “bella, i’m fine. it’s good to see you here. let’s get you inside.” hayden offered her sister a smile, wrapping her arm around her as they made their way inside. “everyone’s just trying to save themselves, and the bad weather hasn’t even hit yet, it’s terrible.”

gia was grateful to see her sister, she had assumed that she would be at work, surely they would need her. gia looked down and only then she realised that in her rush she hadn’t taken her wedding ring off, she snaked her arm behind her own back and smiled at hayden. ‘it’ll be fine, hayd. they’ll get all of this under control soon and it’ll be fine. i’ll make sure of that.’

gia hurried into the school behind a group of people, she didn’t want to be here as much as the next person but wanted to set an example to the people of the town. her wife, kara, was out of town on business and all she wanted right now was to see her. in her rush to get through the doors, gia collided with someone. ‘dio mio, shit, i’m so sorry, really wasn’t paying enough attention, are you okay?’

aurora wasn’t usually one to put up with or deal with whiny or petulent people, but she felt obliged to give everyone more than just one change, seeing as a tropical storm was tearing it’s way through the town. people were bound to be freaked out or anxious. “i mean, no, i don’t think they can make you stay here, but like, it’s dangerous out so you’d have to be an idiot or have a wish to harm yourself to just wander around outside,” aurora said simply. “there’s at least food, water and medical supplies here,” she added. her eyes widened at her words, and immediately she thought of california. was thomas masen doing the dirty with another woman who wasn’t his wife? fucking hell. like father like son, more so than she’d ever known. it left a bitter taste in her mouth. “but i can’t imagine i’d want to be here with that…situation either,” she said. “you could duck into a different room?” she offered. aurora paused. she just could let things go sometimes. “so he’s got a wife, and minstress and now another mistress?” she said, mostly to herself in disbelief. “how many girls was jack—” she stopped herself from saying anything further.

alicia rolled her eyes at the others warnings. she didn’t care all that much, surely it can’t have been as bad as they were saying. they had to have been exaggerating. she paused at the others words. ‘wait, finn’s fucking someone else as well? that bastard…’ she was even more grumpy now and didn’t even notice the girl speaking again. ‘who is it? who is she? and who the fuck is jack?’ she added on finally letting the other’s words sink in. if finn was seeing someone else beside alicia and his wife maybe that’s why he’d come back to lakeview, for her.

alicia was huffing and puffing like a petulant child, she wasn’t going to stay here. she couldn’t. ‘where’s the way out? i’m leaving, they can’t force us to stay here right? i don’t want to be in the same place as the guy i fucked and his wife, unless you know, they’re into that but i don’t think they are considering she’s pregnant.’ all the words tumbled out and she knew she’d messed up but actually she didn’t care, at least it would be around the entire town by morning.

Finn turned immediately at Alicia’s voice. “Fuck…” He whispered under his breath, noticing the way the dull lights hit her face. “I do…” He remembered both times. He didn’t want to, but alas, he did. Hearing her voice, it still drove him wild. “Alicia…. My wife is here.” He said, tapping the desk he sat on. “What would you do if she walked in?”

she continued to move closer to him just like at the bar until she was standing between his legs with a smirk on her face. ‘if she walked in i’d probably ask if she wanted to join…but you know we can push those desks in front of the door then no one’s walking in.’ she dared to stretch up so their faces were barely inches apart. ‘come on.’ she whispered. ‘one last time…’ her body moved before her brain could think, not that her brain would’ve argued. her lips were on his and her hands were somewhere that they absolutely shouldn’t have been.

Being forced to go to the high school was not exactly Finn’s plan. He would have much rather stayed at the Inn and enjoyed the storm from there. Sure, there was a chance of flooding, but the Inn was on a hill. He grabbed one of the free refreshments and went into an empty classroom to watch the storm rage on. “Beautiful.”

alicia couldn’t believe this crap, being told that she had to take shelter in the high school just days after arriving to the town wasn’t exactly ideal. she spotted finn from a distance and of course followed him into the classroom. ‘most people just call me alicia but beautiful will do. not the first time we’ve been alone in a classroom huh? remember the last time? how about the first time? do you remember that? i could jog your memory.’ was now the time to make a move on her ex fling, no…but she wasn’t exactly the queen of good decisions and she had absolutely no morals to speak of.

WHERE: HAYDEN’S APARTMENT

WHAT: GIA SHOWING UP AT HAYDEN’S FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE HAYDEN MOVED.

gia was a little nervous to see her sister again, it had been some time and she was of course harbouring a secret that she wasn’t sure how hayden would take. she stood outside the front door to hayden’s place and looked under the plant pot next to the window. ‘you’ll regret that one day.’ gia mumbled aloud. she would remember to scold her sister for leaving the key in such an obvious place.’hayden? hayds, you here? it’s gia.’

gia was born and raised (partly) in padova, italy. her dad is american and her mom is italian. they moved to america when all the kids were pretty young. gia is your typical middle child, she always felt as if she was the one who was missing out on things and while she adored her siblings and still does, she feels a little put out still at times.

gia was always an overachiever at school and excelled in her studies, she gained an interest in politics early on and would always run for school councils and anything she could.

becoming a councilwoman was an easy choice for gia, she wanted to be able to represent the people around her and make sure everyone was well looked after and safe. 

moving to lakeview was interesting for gia, she wasn’t really liked all the much to begin with and it was hard adjusting to being there but not too long after she arrived she fell head over heels in love and that changed everything.

falling in love had never been part of gia’s five year plan but it happened so fast she couldn’t stop it. kara (i had to) was the most beautiful girl that gia had ever laid eyes on and she fell in love with her the moment they met. kara on the other hand absolutely despised gia and would do anything possible to avoid her, they butted heads constantly and she would never accept gia’s requests to go on a date with her.

gia spent the best part of a year trying to prove to kara that she was a good person and finally a year after arriving in lakeview, gia went on her first date with kara. it was game over from there onward and they spent every waking (and sleeping) moment together.

gia has had her fair share of hurdles over the years but she’s happier than ever. not a week before her sister ended up moving to the area, gia and kara decided to elope and they were married just days before hayden showed up. gia still hasn’t told hayden that she is married and she feels so guilty because she absolutely adores hayden more than anyone in the world. she’s worried that the secret will drive them apart but she’s hopeful that hayden will forgive her once she eventually finds out.

Frankie removes her gaze from the glass for a second to raise a brow in the younger woman’s direction, “What? You gonna say you’re too good to work in a place like this?” Her tone is ridden with sarcasm as she finishes up the drink. Sliding the scotch towards the woman, she nods lightly. “I see that older dude had good taste.” A hint of a smile appears on the corner of her lips, head tilting to the side as she leans against the bar. The woman might’ve annoyed her at first but she couldn’t deny that she was indeed attractive. “Is that all or can I help you with anything else?”

‘i think you know i’m too good for a place like this but i also know that you are too, so what are you doing here?’ alicia sipped the drink with a small sigh and looked back up at the bartender. ‘that’s all, unless you want to give me your number too.’

That stung far more than Joanna would let herself admit. Mainly because for the first time in her marriage she couldn’t say with absolute certainty that her husband would turn down the offer. She could hope he would, but there was that uncertainty now. The mention of her ‘state’ made her pause and her hand did come up to rest on her baby bump. It had only recently started to become noticeable to all and she wasn’t quite used to the attention. “I have every confidence that my husband is satisfied in his life right now.” Alicia didn’t need to know that could partially be because he already had a much younger girlfriend.

alicia could sense some hesitation in the woman’s words and this made her smirk, clearly a nerve had been touched. ‘satisfied with his life, or satisfied with you? they’re two very different scenarios. and how about you? are you satisfied with your life? with this? with a man who clearly doesn’t give a shit if he’s letting you work in this place, where is he? why isn’t he working?’ alicia rested her elbow on the bar, she assumed it wouldn’t be too long until she was barred.

Outsiders annoyed the hell out of Frankie. It’s true she wasn’t too fond of Lakeview and if given the choice, she wouldn’t even be there anymore. But it still was her hometown and there just was something so irritating about the look of superiority in an outsider’s face. Like the one present in the blonde woman. Raising a brow at her, Frankie throws the rag she had in her hand over her shoulder. “Why? You interested in a job or something?” The bartender forces a fake polite smile, though her expression changes to a surprised one at the order. “Scotch on the rocks? Wouldn’t take a princess like you for the type to drink scotch.” Frankie says as she starts to prepare the drink. “Good call, though. Warm beer is fuckin’ disgusting.”

alicia scoffed with a laugh. ‘you wouldn’t catch me working in here if i had a gun to my head.’ she wrinkled her nose and nodded. ‘i suppose it was something that i picked up when i was with an older man for a bit. it just stuck, i like it.’ alicia tapped on the bar with her nails and gave a somewhat coy smile. maybe not everyone in this place was as awful as she had assumed, she liked this girls attitude.

“Oh no, I was able to find someone who loved me fairly quickly. The wonder of not acting like a stuck up cow to anyone you meet. Or is it just women you act like this with?” Joanna had worked with people long enough to know some of the ‘types’ that you might get in a bar and this girl practically screamed daddy issues. “People like me?”

alicia shrugged choosing to ignore the woman’s assumption about her only acting this way with women, she in fact, was like this around everyone. ‘yeah, people like you. bottom of the barrel kind, the kind of person to own a dingy little bar in the middle of nowhere, talking to someone young enough to be your daughter — granddaughter even like you’re perfect.’ she looked the woman up and down. ‘i don’t think your husband thinks much of you if he’s letting you to work behind a bar in your state, maybe i should meet him, show him what he’s missing being with an old hag like you.’

Joanna couldn’t help but scoff at that. If the bar could survive a ‘scandalous’ affair and their son dying she was fairly certain that it could survive whatever this young woman could throw at them. “Yeah, it’s mine and my husband’s. Are you offering? Can’t really see you with a duster to be honest.”

‘you have a husband? wow, i mistook you for a frigid bitch who would die alone surrounded by cats.’ it was alicia’s turn to scoff now. ‘you’re damn right i wouldn’t be seen dead with a feather duster in my hand, that’s what people like you are for.’
