Spent an hour on this piece to keep my hand memory going yesterday. A quick sketch on this embroidery hoop I have had for a while and I was off. As always had an impression of where I wanted to go with it. I.e mood, a dog or two a boy. I made sure I had a variation on the primary colours on my palette and got started. It was fun. In the shop this Tuesday morning to afternoon. Looking thing collection of stag pieces in the shop. Vaguely remember painting them but now realising when you are in the zone as an artist and your work flows you shouldn’t have too much recollection of stilted steps. My little friend is assessing my progress on his friends from today so far. Currently sitting down. I have been working on them most of today. Enjoyed adding tails. Still got more additions to them. Really enjoying making these. Using excess fabrics from @simonewoodtweed and @littlelegsbabykilts, very thankful for the fun patterns they shared. I am also using vintage and patterned papers and acrylic paints. They are more muted colours than I usually use, that is deliberate. Morning, I brought this little guy into the kitchen yesterday to keep me company for a while as I tidied. I wanted to see him in natural light and decide what tiny extras he needs. His friends back in the studio are itching to get out too. I am hoping to have them all ready to take into the shop @createed5 with me on Tuesday. The stormy weather heading towards these two is almost on par with what’s outside my window. Subtle greens in the fields lead down to the meadow. I actually have a meadow next to were I stay to, but the colourful flowers in my paintings are the difference.
