A/N: I saw a request for a Theseus or Newt imagine based on “I’ll Never Love Again” from ‘A Star is Born’ and I couldn’t resist. The lyrics aren’t in order and this isn’t the whole song, I just picked the lyrics that worked the best for what I had in mind. Hope you all like this.
When we first met I never thought that I would fall
“Y/N hurry up and get downstairs! The guests are arriving and we can’t have our own daughter missing!” You heard your mother call from down the hall, causing you to hastily put on your shoes.
“Coming mother!” You shouted back, taking one last glance in the mirror to make sure you were presentable, before rushing from your room.
Your father was recently promoted to Head of the Department of Magical Law Enforcement and your mother was having a gathering off his coworkers to celebrate.
You personally hated when your parents had people over for gatherings. Being an only child in a pure blood family as well as to a high ranking ministry official meant having the importance of appearances drilled into your head from an early age. Your mother especially always made a show of you among their guests, putting you up on an unrealistic pedestal.
You loved both of your parents dearly, but the expectations from both of them was nearly suffocating.
“There you are! Come, come! Some of your dads coworkers are already waiting to meet you.” Your mother said once she spotted you, hurrying you along down the stairs. “Remember, be polite and courteous. We need to make a good impression.”
“Yes mother.” You responded, internally groaning at the thought of how dreadful the next couple hours would be. Plastering a polite smile on your face, you allowed your mother to lead you towards your father and the first of many families to be greeted.
After over an hour of greeting family after family, you excused yourself to use the bathroom. Taking your time, you sighed before straightening your shoulders and facing the crowd of people once again. Finding your parents quickly, you noticed a new family standing with them.
There was a man and wife, along with two boys, one of which looked to be your age, and a younger boy that gripped his mothers hand tightly. You walked up just as the two boys were being introduced.
“This is our eldest son, Theseus.” Mrs. Scamander spoke, gesturing to the boy that looked to be about your age. “And our youngest, Newton.” The toddler waved as he was introduced, a shy smile on his lips.
“How old are you Theseus?” You father asked, causing the boy to straighten up slightly.
“I’m eleven.” Came the response.
“Received your Hogwarts letter?” You noticed the boys slightly dull expression brighten considerably at those words.
“Yes sir! I’m very excited to be heading to school next month.”
“Good, good. My daughter-“ He gestured to you, causing all attention to turn your way. “Y/n will be starting this year as well. Y/n, this is Mr. and Mr. Scamander. Mr Scamander works in my department at the ministry.”
“Pleasure to meet you both.” You smiled, nodding politely towards the two adults. Both smiled at you as well, while Theseus barreled on as if no one else had spoken.
“Really?” He asked, all traces of boredom gone now as he looked at you with a smile. “You’re the first person that I’ve met that’ll be in my year, everyone else I’ve met is older.”
“It’ll be nice knowing someone my age.” You responded, a grin taking over your face as well.
“We can sit on the train together!” He suggested, before turning to his parents. “Mum, Dad, can Y/n and I go outside so we can talk about Hogwarts?”
“If it’s ok with her parents. “ Mr. Scamander spoke, looking at your parents. Your mother looked hesitant, but your father nodded with a smile.
“Of course, Y/n’s been dying to get out of here for the past hour anyway.” Your dad laughed, ignoring your mother’s huff.
“Come on then Y/n.” Theseus spoke, gesturing for you to follow him outside. Seeing your escape, you quickly dashed after him, leaving 3 laughing adults and 1 annoyed one in your wake.
“Thank Merlin.” You muttered once outside and away from all the adults. “I hate these gatherings.”
“Me too.” Theseus responded, an easy grin on his face. “They’re dreadfully boring, and usually there aren’t any kids my age. I usually get stuck babysitting my little brother, this is much better.”
“At least you had someone else to be with, I’m always stuck being dragged around by my mother. I’m shocked she actually let me come out here.” You responded, taking a seat on one of the swings with Theseus following suit.
“You’re welcome then.” Theseus grinned, causing you to roll your eyes. “So, what House do you want to be in at Hogwarts?”
I never thought that I'd find myself Lying in your arms
It had been 5 years since you had met Theseus Scamander, and the two of you were now best friends. Both of you had become Gryffindor’s, and made sure that you shared the same schedule every year. The only time the two of you were ever separated was for sleeping (for obvious reasons) and Quidditch.
Theseus, being more concerned with his studies and his future didn’t see the need to play the sport. You on the other hand, had practically jumped on the opportunity in 2nd year. Unfortunately, most males didn’t really think females should play on the team, and only 2 females had in the past 10 years. You were turned away your 2nd and 3rd year, but you you finally made it onto the team in 4th year when the captain of the team was more accepting. Theseus came to every game.
Currently you found yourself waking up in a vaguely familiar room. Opening your eyes, you were instantly blinded by the white ceiling of the hospital wing. Blinking rapidly, you glanced to your left.
Two things registered in your mind instantly; pain radiating through your entire body at the movement, and there was a familiar body sleeping in a chair next to your bed. Unable to keep in the groan of pain, you internally cursed when the person jumped in response.
“Y/n?” Theseus asked, blinking the sleep out of his eyes. Once more alert, he sat up straight and sighed in relief. “Thank Merlin you’re alright. How do you feel?”
“Bloody hell, I feel like I was hit by the Hogwarts Express.” You groaned, wincing as Theseus helped you sit up. “What happened?”
“That one Ravenclaw, Peters, was really angry about losing. Guess he’s still not happy that Gryffindor has a girl playing for them, and that said girl kicked his arse. He grabbed one of the beaters bats and shot the bludger after you while you were flying towards the team. Hit you in the back of the head and knocked you about 15 feet to the ground.” Theseus explained, anger and some lingering fear swimming in his blue eyes. “Headmaster Black was pretty angry, gave Peters about a month of detention. Professor Dumbledore put you on a stretcher and brought you here, you looked pretty bad.”
“Oh thanks, just what every girl wants to hear.” You replied sarcastically, making a weak grin form on your friends face. “Where’s the rest of the team anyway? Figured those overprotective prats would be here too.”
“Well they were here..” Theseus trailed off, suddenly looking sheepish. “But they were forced out just before curfew.”
“Before curfew? But the suns out..” You spoke in confusion, glancing out the window. “Do you mean to say that I’ve been out all afternoon and all night?” You asked suddenly, comprehension dawning on you.
“Er, Yes?” Theseus responded, watching you closely.
“You stayed here all night?!” You exclaimed, reaching out to smack his arm when he nodded. “You idiot!”
“I was worried, alright?” He defended, a light blush spreading high on his cheeks. “That was the worst injury you’ve gotten, and you were so pale. I couldn’t leave without knowing for sure that you were ok.”
“Git.” You mumbled fondly, making Theseus laugh slightly. “Don’t do it again.”
“Sure.” He agreed, but you both knew he was lying. “Now...” He started, a glint in his eyes as he changed the subject. “Peters can’t get away with harming you like that and only getting a month of detention, so I’ve got a plan...”
Don't wanna feel another touch Don’t wanna start another fire Don’t wanna know another kiss
After the 2 hour long graduation ceremony finished, you took off from your seat in search of your best friend. Finally spotting him searching the crowd for you, you darted towards him.
“Theseus! Can you believe we’ve actually graduated?” You exclaimed, throwing your arms around your best friend in excitement. “I feel like we just started learning the disarming spell, and now we’re about to leave for the last time.” There was sadness in your voice as you pulled away, only to find your best friend merely staring at you. “Theseus? You ok?”
He continued to stare at you for a moment, before suddenly surging forward and capturing your lips in a heated kiss. Gasping in shock against his lips, you took a few seconds to respond. When you did, however, it was the greatest feeling you’d ever experienced. Better than winning the Quidditch Cup, better than flying on a broom, and better than making your parents proud when you received nearly perfect scores on your NEWTs exam.
“Sorry, I’ve been wanting to do that for months.” Theseus whispered as he pulled back slightly, yet his lips still brushed against yours.
“Then why are you stopping?” You mumbled dazedly back, causing a laugh of disbelief to fall from your best friends lips. He happily obliged.
And I don't wanna give somebody else the better part of me I would rather wait for you
“Y/n, love?” Your boyfriend questioned as he walked through the door, something off in his tone. Ignoring it for the time being, you smiled and headed towards him.
“How was your day Thee?” You asked, reaching up and kissing him briefly. When you pulled away, you noticed he looked tense and wary about something. “Is everything alright?”
“Y/n.” He spoke softly, yet seriously, eyes seemingly boring into yours. “A couple of the Auror’s have been talking recently, and well we feel that this war has been going on long enough.”
“War? You mean the one between the Muggles?” You asked, a foreboding feeling coming over you as you continued to watch him.
“Yes. There was something called a bombing in the east part of London early this morning, and it killed a couple families from the ministry.” He spoke, causing you to gasp in shock. “It’s like a really bad form of reducto but made with chemicals, the muggles have been using it more and more recently. And now that we know it can kill us..”
“Theseus, where are you going with this?” You asked, though you felt like you already knew the answer.
“Well I know Travers is saying that wizards are not to get involved in the war, but one of the people killed was a friend, and I can’t stand by and do nothing anymore.” He spoke, eyes glassy as he continued. “So a few of us are leaving, we’re going to go help fight with the muggles.”
There was a deafening silence in the room as you took in his words, heart quickly dropping into your stomach.
“You-you’re leaving?” You questioned, shock and disbelief strong in your tone. “You’re going to war?”
“Yes.” He replied, rubbing his thumb across your cheek. “I’m sorry, but I have to do this.”
“Ok.” You murmured, closing your eyes tightly against the emotions building up. They snapped open, however, at his next words.
“I won’t blame you if you don’t want to wait for me.” He said gently, pain in his eyes as he watched you closely. “There’s a good chance that I might not come back. I can’t make you go through that pain. If you want to end things-“
“How dare you.” You cut across him, angrier than you had ever been. “I love you Theseus Scamander, and you going off to war isn’t going to change that. I’m not going to go off and find someone new. You’re it for me, you’re the only person I want to spend the rest of my life with. That’s not going to change. And the fact that you’d think that-“
“I don’t, but I couldn’t leave without offering. I don’t want to force you into this. I know how hard it’ll be. I just don’t want you to regret everything.” He told you, looking relieved now.
“Never.” You responded strongly, eyes still hard as you glanced at him
“Watch our for my little brother, won’t you? He’s always in some sort of trouble.” He joked, trying to cut the tension in the room.
“Of course.” You spoke weakly, staring out the window while you tried to wrestle down the emotion building up in you.
“Y/n.” He spoke softly, grabbing your chin and turning it so you were looking up at him. “When I come back, we’re going to be married, ok? If we make it through this, I want you by my side for the rest of my life.”
“I’m already yours.” You told him, fighting back tears with all you had.
“I’m going to be ok, I’ll come back to you.” He said strongly, cupping your face in his hands.
“You promise?” You whispered, the tears finally falling freely from your eyes.
“I promise.”
Wish I could, I could've said goodbye. I would've said what I wanted to Maybe even cried for you If I knew it would be the last time I would've broke my heart in two Tryin' to save a part of you
“Theseus? I’m home.” You nervously shouted through the house, hearing something clatter to the ground upstairs and footsteps quickly approaching down the steps. Moments later you were wrapped in strong arms, nerves vanishing in your husbands embrace.
After returning from the war nearly a year later, Theseus had shown up to your work and had asked you to marry him. Of course you had said yes, a now 6 years later, here you were.
“Welcome home my beautiful wife!” He exclaimed, making you giggle slightly at his excitement. “I was hoping I’d see you before I had to leave, Travers is sending us on another mission. He claims he has a source that told him where Grindelwald is. We all know how reliable his sources have been in the past. Probably just another wild niffler chase.” He rolled his eyes, making you snort.
“There’s something I need to tell you before you go.” You spoke anxiously, causing Theseus to become concerned.
“What is it?”
“Well I- I felt sick at work today, and one of the other healers said I should take a test. I did, and well it came back positive.” You whispered, doing nothing to calm your husbands worries. “Thee, I’m pregnant.”
“P-pregnant?” He asked, pure shock written all over him. “Blimey, you, we’re-“ He suddenly cut himself off, voice clogged with emotion. He quickly kissed you heatedly, an overjoyed sound coming muffled from his mouth. “I’m going to be a father!” He exclaimed when he pulled away, spinning you around joyously in his arms. “This is the second happiest moment of my life!”
“What’s the first?” You laughed, catching your breath as he set you down on your feet again.
“The day you married me.” He said as if it were obvious, making you grin. “Wait till I tell Newt! We’ll make him god father, yes?”
“Of course.” You answered, watching your husband happily. “I’ll owl him when you leave.”
“Right, right.” He spoke, suddenly remembering his mission. “Almost forgot, well I’d better be off. Wait till I tell the others, a baby!”
“Alright, alright, get out of here you crazy man.” You joked, leaning up to kiss him once more. “Come back to me.” You whispered when you pulled away, having spoken the words every time he went on missions.
“Always.”
And I want to pretend that it's not true Oh baby, that you're gone
“Mum, where are we going?” Your five year old daughter spoke, holding onto your hand tightly as you walked through familiar large iron gates.
“You’re going to meet someone very special.” You responded, squeezing your little daughters hand gently.
She stayed silent as she walked beside you, the silence of the area around causing her to do the same. After a few minutes of walking, you stopped in front of the familiar place. Kneeling down next to your daughter, you moved your hand to hold her shoulder.
“Is that-?” She started, eyes wide as she took in the name in front of her.
Theseus Scamander Born: 7th June 1889 Died: 19th February 1920 “And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make.”
“Honey, this is your dad.” You spoke softly, placing your other hand over the slightly worn tombstone. “He was the bravest, loyalest, and most loving man I ever met. He died before you were born, fighting an evil man so that one day you and I and others could live in a peaceful world without fear. He never met you, but he loved you fiercely from the moment he found out about you. You look so much like him, you are so much like him.” You paused, playing with a loose brown curl in your daughters hair while tears filled your eyes. “He’d be so proud of you, he’d love you just as much as I do if he was still with us.”
“Do you miss him?” Your daughter asked softly, tears now falling from her eyes.
“Not a day goes by that I don’t.” You responded, wiping a tear from her cheek. “But he is always with us; he lives on in me, and he lives on in you. As long as we always remember and always love him, he’ll never really be gone. He’ll look over us and protect us until we join him again one day.”
“I wish he was still here, I wish I had my dad.” Your daughter sobbed, prompting you to pull her tightly into your arms.
“I know, I know my little love. I wish he was still here too. I always will.”
Oh, I’ll never love again

You’d been working as an Auror for 3 years when you had first been assigned as Theseus Scamander’s partner. He was hailed all across Britain as a war hero, so to say you were excited to work alongside him was an understatement.
And you definitely weren’t disappointed. Theseus was a very powerful wizard, but he was also very strategic. He had a Gryffindor heart, but a Ravenclaw mind.
So it was no surprise when two years later he became the Head Auror, and your boss.
On the outside he seemed cold and stern. Most were afraid to even venture close to him, often feeling inferior and intimidated by him. He’d built up a reputation over the past couple of years, he was both revered and feared.
Very few ever got past his exterior; you, however, were one of them.
Your friendship was a very unlikely one from the start. The two of you were complete opposites. He was stern and arrogant, you were easy-going and kind. He was cool and constructively put together, you were fiery and wild. He was a rule follower, you were a rule breaker. You were completely different people separately, but together you found a balance. Together you were a force to be reckoned with.
You were the only one to challenge him after the war, the only one to question his authority. He grew to respect that about you, and through that respect grew a strong friendship.
And now, 7 years after you had first started working with him, you were the most important person in his life outside of his immediate family.
He was fiercely protective of you, though he usually showed it in quiet ways that only you would notice. The two of you often got in verbal fights over if you would join him on the more dangerous missions, though often his arguments were in vain since he’d always had a problem saying no to you.
The whole of the Aurors office was holding its breath for the two of you to finally get together. Frankly, you were waiting for it to happen as well. There had been an unspoken thing between the two of you for years now. Neither of you dated anyone, or even really thought about dating. You belonged to each other in a sense, without ever really acknowledging it.
You wanted to acknowledge it, wanted it to become more, but you were unsure how.
“Knock knock.” A voice spoke, knocking you out of your thoughts. Glancing away from the window in your office, your gaze instead focused on the tall form of Theseus Scamander standing in front of you. “Knut for your thoughts?” He teased, taking the spare seat at your desk.
“You know me Thee, mind was just wandering away from me.” You replied with a nonchalant smile, conjuring a spare cup and pouring some tea for him. He accepted the cup with a smile, taking an appreciative sip before focusing back on you.
“What I wouldn’t give to see into that pretty little head of yours.” He joked, his stern demeanor evaporating completely as he leant towards you over the desk.
“It’s a crazy place to be, wouldn’t recommend for anyone.” You replied lightheartedly, trying to ignore the fact that he’d called you pretty.
“Little ole y/n? Crazy? Now who would ever say that?” He asked, reaching out and brushing a strand of hair behind your ear.
“You, on a daily basis.” You deadpanned, causing Theseus to break into a wide grin.
“I wouldn’t have to if you didn’t go off throwing yourself in the middle of danger everyday.” He defended mock angrily, causing you to snort.
“Hey, someone’s got to do it.” You shrugged, while Theseus just shook his head fondly at you.
“What in Merlin’s name am I going to do with you?” The way he was looking at you then caused shivers to chase down your spine
“Not send me on anymore surveillance duties?” You suggested hopefully, glancing away from his eyes to get your heart under control.
“Not a chance love.” He responded, laughing at your attempt. “Nice try though.”
“So, to what do I owe the pleasure of having the Head Auror visit my office?” You asked, getting back on track. He usually didn’t visit your office during hours unless for lunch or he needed something. Seeing as it was 4 o clock, it had to be the ladder.
“I’m wounded!” He claimed, a mock gasp escaping his lips. “I can’t come round to see my dearest friend just because I feel like it?”
“Oh come off it Thee.” You replied, batting his shoulder playfully.
“Alright, alright.” He conceded, a smile still on his lips. “Some of Grindelwald’s followers are stirring up some trouble outside of London. I’ve sent a few to deal with it already, but they’ve been gone a little too long for my taste. Thought you might be up for a little dueling session before dinner.”
“It would be my pleasure.” You told him. Standing up and grabbing your Auror jacket. “Where to?”
“One of the muggle factories on the east side of London, not really sure why they’re there, but it can’t be for any good reason.” He responded, causing you to nod and step closer to him. “Stay close to me.” He told you seriously, like he always did before missions. Rolling your eyes, you nudged his shoulder playfully.
“I always do, you prat.” He laughed at your usual response, grabbing your arm and apparating you both just on the outskirts of the factory. “Is this where you meant to land?”
“No.” He responded, eyes suddenly alert. “Someone’s thrown up anti-apparition wards.” He spoke, causing you to draw out your wand and follow along side him. Silently sneaking into the building, you were both alarmed to see the Auror’s vastly outnumbered.
Sending a quick glance towards each other, you both sprinted head on into the fray. Both of you immediately caused the Auror’s to rally, realizing help was here.
With you and Theseus there, the tides quickly turned in the Auror’s favor. You took on three duelers at a time, quickly defeating each one of them.
You turned away from your most recent defeated opponent, only to lock eyes on a wizard about to shoot a spell off at Theseus’ turned back. Not even thinking about the wand in your hand, you yelled out and lunged in front of the beam of green light.
Theseus turned right as the spell hit you, mouth opening in a soundless yell. He quickly shot spell after spell towards the offending wizard, standing protectively over your fallen body.
The next couple minutes were a blur as you struggled to remain conscious, the unknown spell making your whole body feel weak.
“Y/N!” Theseus shouted out after the last Grindelwald follower in the room was defeated, falling to the ground beside you, he quickly rolled your body over which caused you to groan in pain. “Oh thank Merlin.”
“Bloody hell, my whole body hurts.” You winced, weakly pulling yourself into a sitting position with Theseus’ help. The other Auror’s around you were busying themselves with rounding up the followers, leaving you and Theseus to yourselves.
“What on earth were you thinking?” He demanded angrily, causing your attention to snap to him. Your eyes widened, seeing fury edged on his face.
“I was saving your arse as usual, now back off.” You told him, taking on the defensive as he continued to look at you that way.
“Don’t ever do it again!” He shouted, his voice beyond angry. You’d heard him raise his voice on many different occasions, but never had it been directed towards you. To say you were stunned, and a little bit hurt, would be an understatement.
“I don’t understand what the big deal is! He was aiming at you from behind Thee, you didn’t stand a chance! You’re worth more to the Ministry than I am. Besides, I’m fine!” You shouted right back, starting to get angry yourself. What right did he have getting mad over you protecting him when he protected you on a frequent basis.
“I THOUGHT YOU WERE DEAD!” His thundering voice carried around to everyone, causing the room to become deadly silent. For a moment, the only sound heard was his ragged breathing. “The spell was green y/n, I thought-“ He cut himself off, looking away from you with a pained expression. “I don’t ever want you thinking that I’d be ok with you- well with you dying for me.”
And finally you understood. He was worried, scared even when you had gone down. And from his point of view, it had looked bad. Throwing caution to the wind, you leaned towards him and wrapped your arms around his lean waist.
“I’m sorry.” You whispered, causing his tense body to relax in your hold. His arms instantly came around your shoulders, holding you closely to him.
“Don’t scare me like that again.” He murmured, sounding more vulnerable than you’d ever heard him. “And don’t ever let me hear you say that your life is lesser than anyone’s again. Your life is everything to me.”
“I know, I just couldn’t stand by and watch you get hurt.” You responded softly, running a hand through his now messy hair. You much preferred his unruly curls to his usual slicked back look.
He pulled back and stared at you silently for a while, causing you to feel a bit overwhelmed. Before you could break the silence that had grown around you, his hands had come up and cupped your cheeks, locking your head in place as he surged forward.
When his lips met yours for the first time, it was like everything else ceased to exist. It was just you and Theseus locked in your own bliss filled world. You instantly kissed him back, arms finding their way around his neck as one of his found it’s way to your lower back, pulling you impossibly closer to him.
You kissed for what felt like forever, yet still didn’t feel long enough. It was passionate and fiery, full of a longing build up over years. It conveyed everything that had silently been communicated between you for months, crushing every doubt as it continued.
When you finally pulled apart, the two of you were smiling at each other, a tenderness flowing easily between you.
“It’s about time.” Was echoed around you by some of the other Auror’s, causing you and Theseus to break out of your little daze. Glancing around at the others, you saw small smiles on all of their faces.
“I think I might need to have a chat with your father.” Theseus spoke, diverting your attention back to him.
“Why?” You asked, eyebrows furrowing in confusion. The man in front of you laughed, fingers coming up to smooth the wrinkles on your forehead out.
“Well it would be improper for me to ask for your hand in marriage without his permission first.” He spoke confidently, watching as your jaw slacked in shock.
“You-What?”
“We’re on the brink of war y/n.” Theseus replied calmly, eyes locked on yours. “And today, seeing you down and thinking you were dead, even if for only a few seconds, was enough for my to realize how short life could be. How easily you could be taken from me at any moment. I’m not going to waste whatever time we have left by skirting around each other as we have in the past few years. I love you.” He spoke sincerely, causing your heart to flutter wildly in your chest. “And I know you love me. So let’s skip over the nonsense and get married. With your fathers agreement of course.”
“Always the one for rules and properness.” You managed to choke out breathlessly, a smile forming on your lips once more.
“And you love it.” He teased, his own grin lighting his face.
“Well, regardless of my fathers answer...” You paused, leaning up to press a kiss to his cheek.
“Mine will always be yes.”

A/N: this takes place before the events of Fantastic Beasts, so technically no spoilers. This will be AU since we don’t know much about Newt and Theseus’ school days, but this idea popped into my head so I’m rolling with it. There will be a lot of flashing back and forth in time, flashbacks will be in italics. Also, Theseus is only 4 years older in this.
“Is that little Y/N I see?” A familiar voice sounded from behind you, causing you to pause in your movements and turn back to face the tall man approaching you. “My, it is you.”
“Theseus.” You responded politely, eyes discretely taking in how much more handsome he had gotten since you saw him last. Not that you’d ever tell him that.
It had been over a year since you’d seen him. He’d been away on Auror missions a lot more lately with Grindelwald beginning to rise in power, but it seemed he was back now since the dark wizards disappearance.
“It seems you get more beautiful every time I see you.” Theseus told you, eyes roaming over your form in an appreciative way. You squirmed slightly under his intense gaze, cheeks flushing in the pale light of the hallway. He smiled, pulling you quickly into a tight hug. You smiled briefly, allowing yourself to enjoy the embrace.
“And it seems you only get more arrogant.” Was your response, pulling away and crossing your arms over your chest. Theseus laughed, the sound loud and echoing down the hall.
“Somethings never change, do they?” He asked after he calmed down, eyes glittering in a reminiscent way.
“No, they don’t.”
“Do you think Professor Green will let us off our homework if we tell him about the hippogriff we found in the forbidden forest?” Your friend Leta asked as the small group of three friends made their way to Defense from Magical Creatures class.
“More like he’d expel us for not turning it in immediately.” Newt grumbled, his dislike for the professor pretty evident.
“I still can’t believe he thinks Bowtruckles should be illegal! I mean they’re harmless!” You exclaimed angrily, agreeing with Newts dislike.
“Oh come on you two, Professor Green’s not that bad.” Leta shrugged, causing Newt and you to stare at her in disbelief.
“Hello Newt, Leta..” A voice interrupted suddenly causing you all to turn to its source. Newt’s older brother was smiling down at the three Third years, his Head Boy badge displayed proudly on his chest, and as usual he had an air of superiority around him. “And little y/n.” His grin widened as his eyes landed on you, causing you to glare at the nickname. “Still hanging out with my little brother? I still say I’d be much better company.”
“And I still say you’re much too arrogant for my taste.” You snapped back, making Newt snort and try to cover it up with a cough. Leta merely laughed out loud.
“Aw, you wound me my dear little y/n.” Theseus exclaimed, clutching his heart with a grin still on his lips. “You’ll come around one day.” He teased, ruffling your hair as he passed the three of you.
“Yeah, when flobberworms fly.” You grumbled, causing your friends to laugh at your annoyance. “I don’t get why he always singles me out.” You complained, continuing towards your lessons.
“Maybe he fancies you.” Leta suggested after she had calmed down. Newt and you paused for a minute to look at her, before the three of you simultaneously burst into laughter.
“Yeah right!”
“Are you coming tonight to see my little brother off?” Theseus’ voice broke into your thoughts, causing you to look at him again. Shrugging, you turned back to your original destination and began to walk once more. He quickly fell into step beside you, eyes locked on the side of your face.
“Of course I am.” Was your response, hardly paying the man any attention as you saw your boss a little ways ahead.
“Then I look forward to seeing you again.” He spoke up once more, startling you to a halt when he grabbed your hand. You spun to face him, eyes widening as he brought your knuckles to his lips. “Until then.”
Your face was bright red as he retreated from you, a smug smirk on his face. You watched him as he turned and walked away, hating that your eyes glanced a little too far down more than once.
“Why does he still have this effect on me?” You muttered under your breath, mind flashing back to the summer before 7th year.
“Newt, y/n! Are you both ready? We only have 10 minutes to get to the station!” Mrs. Scamander shouted up the stairs, causing you and your best friend to race around the room to make sure you both had everything.
“Coming mum!” Newt shouted back, sounding winded. The two of you quickly packed the reminder of your things, before booking it down the stairs. You raced ahead of Newt to the kitchens, nearly colliding with another body. The second person caught you from toppling backward, arms wrapping securely around your waist.
“I knew you missed me y/n, but I had no idea it was this much.” The voice joked, causing your head to snap upward. A blush formed on your cheeks when you realized just how close you were to the older boy, causing him to chuckle slightly.
“Leave her alone Thes.” Newt spoke, pulling you away from his brother. “What are you doing here?”
“Didn’t mum tell you? I’m escorting the three of you to King’s Cross. They’ve closed down the floo network into the station, so we have to apparate there. It’s easier for me to just come along, I have work to attend to in the city afterwards anyway.”
“Come on you lot, you’re going to miss the train!” Mrs. Scamander exclaimed, rounding the corner to see the three of you. Grabbing your trunk after having let it fall when you nearly collided with Theseus, the three of you followed the witch out the door. Mrs. Scamander immediately grabbed Newt, disapparating away with him on the spot.
“Shall we?” Theseus asked, holding out his arm to you with a smirk on his lips. Rolling your eyes slightly, you grabbed his arm and spun from the ground. Landing abruptly in King’s Cross, you held onto Theseus a few moments longer to catch your bearings. “Still not a fan of apparition?”
“I don’t think I’ll ever be.” You responded, trying to shake away the slight sick feeling you got every time. “Don’t think I even want to take the class this year.”
“That’s ok. I’ll always be around to take you where you need to go.” He winked teasingly, causing you to groan as you stepped away from him. He quickly stopped you, grabbing you hand and pulling you back to face him.
“Take care of yourself this year, ok?” He whispered, reaching forward to brush a strand of hair behind your ear. He pulled your hand up to his lips, and softly placed a kiss there. “See you at Christmas.”
With that the man spun away, leaving you rooted to the spot in shock. You vaguely felt Mrs. Scamander give you a hug before she too left the station.
“He’s only like that with you, ya know?” Newt spoke up behind you, causing you to jump.
“Oh shut up.” You grumbled, smacking your friend in the chest.
“I think he fancies you.” He continued to tease, ruffling your hair affectionately like a brother would.
“He does not!” You denied, cheeks heating up once again to Newt’s amusement. “Now stop badgering me and lets go find Leta.” You growled, pushing Newt away.
“Whatever you say y/n.”
Thoughts of Theseus stayed in your mind the rest of the day. He’d been a constant in your life since the moment you met Newt in first year. Even later when you were sorted into Gryffindor and he into Hufflepuff, you still stayed friends. Then Leta joined your group, and the three of you remained best friends until the incident of 7th year that left Newt suspended and you and Leta at odds. You were still polite to Leta when you saw her, but nothing ever past that. Newt and you remained friends, going so far as to consider one another as a sibling.
Theseus always loved to tease you, and it happened quite frequently considering you were in the same house. He was never cruel or mean to you, not that you ever thought he could be, but he did know which buttons to push to drive you mad.
But he cared for you, that you knew for certain. It was him after all that comforted you years ago after your parents had died when you were 19.
A knock on your door late one night startled you out of a restless sleep. You’d gone to bed earlier that night feeling like something was wrong. Being unable to pinpoint exactly what was wrong, you’d fallen into a fitful sleep.
Immediately alert, you grabbed your wand and cautiously made your way to the front door.
“Who is it?” You questioned from the other side of the door, wand raised in front of you.
“It’s Theseus Scamander, Auror and brother of your best friend. In Hogwarts I always called you little y/n.” The familiar voice responded, causing you to instantly relax. Opening the door, you immediately frowned at the man.
“What on earth are you doing here this late? It’s-“ You paused, glancing at the clock behind you. “12 o clock at night!”
“Y/n.” Theseus started, his voice sounding tired and full of grief. “I’m sorry for coming by so late, but I wanted you to hear this from someone you knew first, before word spreads. They were going to send Travers, but I thought it might be better coming from me.”
“What is it Theseus?” You asked, worry worming it’s way into your heart hearing how serious he sounded. “You’re scaring me.”
“I’m so sorry.” He murmured, eyes not meeting yours. “We were sent on an Auror mission earlier this evening. It was a trap. An ambush.” He paused, taking a deep breath to collect himself. “Your parents were there y/n.”
“What?!” You exclaimed, body jolting in shock. “Are they ok? Are they hurt?” You demanded, immediately reaching for your coat.
“Y/n.” Theseus spoke softly again, grabbing your arm gently before you could move away. “They-they didn’t make it. They were killed with a couple other Auror’s in an explosion.”
“What?” You repeated, voice now void of emotion as you stared disbelievingly at the man in front of you.
“I’m sorry. I’m so sorry.” His voice wavered as he watched you, throat clogged with emotion.
“You’re lying.” You spoke, shaking off his hand and going for your coat again. “They’re just hurt, they can’t- they aren’t-“
“Y/n please, I’m not lying. What are you doing! Where are you going?” Theseus scrambled after you as you marched from your apartment, grabbing your arm once again to stop you.
“Let me go! I have to go find them!” You exclaimed, trying to shake him off again.
“No! You’re not thinking straight. Y/n listen to me! You won’t find them. They’re gone y/n.” He held you tighter as you began to fight back, eyes filling with tears.
“Stop, let me go! They aren’t gone!”
“Y/n please! I know this is hard, but you have to accept it.”
“LIAR!” You screamed, voice aching at the volume used. “THEY AREN’T GONE! THEY CAN’T BE DEA-“ Your voice cracked on the last word, tears streaming down your face relentlessly. “Please tell me you’re lying.”
“I wish I could, but I’m can’t y/n.” Theseus softly replied, his own eyes filling with tears. Sobs suddenly escaped your lips, body nearly collapsing to the ground in grief. Theseus quickly caught you, holding you tightly to his chest.
With you crying hysterically against his chest, he slowly moved you back into your apartment, locking the door behind him before settling you on his lap on the couch.
“I’m so sorry.” He kept murmuring, placing gentle kisses against your hair every now and then while rubbing your back.
What felt like hours later, you finally were able to compose yourself enough to form words.
“What am I going to do? I have nothing left, they were my only family.” You whispered brokenly, heart clenching in pain.
“Of course that’s not true.” Theseus responded, pulling away slightly and cupping your cheeks gently in his hands. “You have Newt, my mum-“ He paused, wiping a stray tear from your cheek. “And you have me. We’ll always be there for you.”
“Promise?” You whispered, sounding like a young child. Theseus merely smiled, pressing a kiss to your forehead.
“I promise.”
Theseus kept that promise, being there for you more than you ever thought possible. He became a sort of light in the dark for you. You went to him when the pain got too much, and he was always there with open arms. He still annoyed you constantly, but you still held a deep intimate affection for him. Not that you’d tell him that.
Hours later found you beside your best friend, standing with him as he greeted the many guests who had come to wish him good luck on his upcoming journey. He paused in his greetings to glance at you, his boyish grin on his lips.
“I still can’t believe you’re leaving me for a whole year.” You pouted, latching onto your best friends arm as he laughed.
“Please, you’ll barely even realize I’m gone.” Newt replied, nudging your side playfully.
“You’re leaving me all on my own here Newt. Whose going to protect me from your evil brothers clutches.” You joked, causing Newt to chuckle.
“How ever will you survive?”
“I am proud of you though.” You said in all seriousness, smiling up at your best friend. “You’re finally doing what you love, even though most people have been telling you it wasn’t possible your whole life. But you’re gonna make a difference in the world, you’re going to do so much for the magical creatures. I can’t wait to read all about it.”
“I’ll send you a letter every week.” Newt told you, a pleased smile on his face.
“I know you will.”
“Brother.” Theseus suddenly broke into the conversation, causing your attention to switch to the older sibling. “Might I borrow y/n for a little while?” Newt turned his head to glance at you, asking for your permission. When you did nothing but shrug, he nodded towards his brother.
Holding out his arm, Theseus motioned for you to come with him. You quickly grabbed a hold of his arm, allowing him to lead you into another room. The room was filled with various couples, each dancing along to a soft piano melody.
“I remember that you always liked to dance at school, I thought you might like to join me for one.” He offered, pulling away and holding out a hand for you.
“One dance couldn’t hurt.” You responded calmly, though internally you were freaking out. Theseus let a bright smile break out on his face as you grabbed his hand, before quickly dragging you towards the dancing couples.
His left kept a hold on yours, while his right snaked around your waist. He then led you in a casual waltz, leaving barely an inch between your bodies.
“You’re so beautiful.” Theseus murmured, staring down in awe at you as the two of you continued to dance. “You always have been.”
“I-er-thanks.” You stuttered, cheeks reddening ever so slightly. He was silent for a minute, merely staring down at you with a contemplative look on his face, before he finally seemed to come to a conclusion.
“I’ve grown a lot in the past couple months, and I’ve also had a lot of time to think about what I want in the future.” He spoke, confusing you slightly. However, he simply ignored this and continued. “Do you know what I saw in every foreseeable future I thought of?” He asked, twirling you away from him, only to bring you back even closer to his body.
“What?” You questioned, feeling slightly breathless under his gaze.
“You.” He spoke, causing you to freeze in his arms. “Standing by my side. Being a friend. A confidant. A lover. Everything i want to accomplish in my life, I saw you right there with me. It’s always been you.”
“Theseus... I-“
“I know that I was a right prat growing up, that I still am sometimes. But I’d like to think that I’ve been growing more and more into a man that you could be proud of. A man that you could depend on, turn to for whatever you need. A man that you could trust, and eventually-one day- a man that you could learn to love.” Seeing that you were speechless, Theseus continued on. “It won’t be easy. I’m not always a great person to be around. I can be prideful, jealous, stubborn. There will be times when you’ll want to slap me and kick me aside. We’ll argue a lot I’m sure, we’ve always been good at that. And I don’t ever think I’ll stop teasing you, your reactions are too fun for me.”
He paused then, an adoring look in his eyes as he gazed down at you for a moment.
“But I can promise that I’ll love you fiercely. I’ll protect you, take care of you, be there for you whenever you need me. I’ll hold you when you need to be held. I’ll listen when you need to talk. And I’ll let you slap me down a few pegs when my big head gets the best of me. I’ll be whatever, or whoever, you want me to be. Just as long as I can love you the way I’ve always wanted to, even when I’ve done a poor job of showing it.”
You were still in a stunned silence for a few more moments, until a warmth started forming in your chest. Snapping out of, you finally spoke up.
“Where the hell has this Theseus been all these years?” You asked softly, a slow smile forming on your lips.
“He’s been hiding behind the ego and arrogance as you call it.” He teased, causing you to smile up at him.
“He suits you.” You whispered, before finally giving in and crashing your lips against his. He seemed stunned for a moment, body frozen against yours, before he responded tenfold. You nearly drowned in all the emotions you felt in his kiss, the only thing keeping you surfaced was his arms around you.
“I told you you’d come around one day.” Theseus whispered as he pulled away, causing you to blush fiercely.
“Shut up Scamander.” You replied, slapping his shoulder gently. He quickly grabbed your hand again, pulling you back into a dance and dipping you towards the floor. “I still say you’re way too arrogant for your own good.” You replied, melting fully into his chest. Before he had the chance to respond, you both heard a familiar voice that made the two of you freeze.
“Theseus! Why in Merlin’s name are your hands all over my best friend?!”

A/N: WARNING! Spoilers ahead for The Crimes of Grindelwald. Do not read if you haven’t already seen the movie. This will be a continuation of the Grindelwald sister imagine.
“I’m starting to think someone had it out for me the day I became friends with you.” You weakly joked to Newt, leaning against both Scamander brothers as you all made your way towards Hogwarts.
“Trouble tends to follow my little brother wherever he goes.” Theseus responded, speaking for the first time since everyone left Paris. “He’s kept our whole family on their toes for his entire life.”
You tried to laugh in response, but ended up groaning slightly in pain. Both Scamander brothers shot you worried looks, as well as your American friends.
“Are you sure you’re alright?” Newt asked, tightening his arm around you as you leaned more heavily against him.
“Let’s just say my brother doesn’t hold back with his spellwork.” You replied before remembering who you were with.
“Wait, brother?” Tina spoke up, sounding beyond confused.
“Bugger.” You mumbled under your breath, causing Newt to chuckle slightly.
After your confrontation with Albus a few months ago, you had told Newt everything. About being Gellert Grindelwald’s sister, about how you knew Albus, about the fight between the three of you, about how you fled to America. You were almost certain that Newt would hate you for being related to the monster that was your brother. But Newt was understanding and accepting. Nothing changed between the two of you, if anything you became even closer.
You both had agreed to keep the knowledge of who you were a secret, knowing how serious the repercussions of that knowledge could be now that Gellert was wandering Britain freely again. If Gellert ever found you, it would be either join him, or be killed. And the both of you knew that the first wasn’t even an option for you.
Albus and you had remained in contact since then, growing closer than you had when you were younger. You could tell there was something growing between the two of you, but you were almost afraid to find out what. There was a part of you that had yet to let go of your past anger and hurt towards Albus. You knew in your heart that he was no longer that same 18 year old, yet your brain wouldn’t allow you to fully trust him yet. Especially with his constant refusal to join the fight against Grindelwald. You didn’t understand. Until you did.
You went with Newt to Paris of course, refusing to let your friend take on Grindelwald on his own. You stuck by Newt’s side through it all, meeting Leta along the way and eventually Yusuf and Nagini too. Having previously met Theseus on your return to Britain with Newt months ago, the man had simply greeted you with one of his famous hugs.
Watching your brother speak to the wizards and witches had made you sick to your stomach. Seeing how he masterly manipulated the crowd was awful to watch, especially when you saw both Queenie and Credence fall victim to it.
Your mistake had been when you stood so strongly against him. Angry over losing Queenie, you retaliated against his fiendfyre. Theseus held Newt back as you stared into your brothers eyes, hatred bubbling in you like you had never experienced before.
“Who are you?” You remember him asking, watching as some familiarity flickered behind his eyes. You knew then that he would stop at nothing to find out the answer to his question. Cursing yourself, you had almost been grateful for the distraction that was Leta Lestrange.
Almost grateful, until she ended up getting herself killed. Her death tore through the Scamander brothers, but they didn’t have time to react before the fiendfyre spiraled out of control. Newt quickly grabbed you and Theseus, before Apparating to the edge of the cemetery.
After the group of wizards and witches stopped the fiendfyre from destroying Paris, you moved away from the grieving brothers towards the limping niffler. Picking him up gingerly, you quickly took the vial that you had sent him after.
As soon as you saw your brother wearing it earlier on in the night, you’d immediately recognized it. You’d seen your brother and Albus with it back at Aunt Bathilda’s house. You’d been quickly brushed away when you asked what it was, but now feeling the power and wards radiating off of it.. you had an inkling of what it could be.
“What is that?” Newt asked, joining your side as you leant heavily against the wall.
“I’m not sure..” You trailed off, shakily running a hand through your hair. Your body felt weak and achy all of a sudden, the magic used to hold off your brothers finally catching up to you. “But I think we had better go see Albus.”
Which brought you to where you were now, watching said man crossing the entrance way of Hogwarts and walking towards the group of you.
“Newt and I need to have a word with Professor Dumbledore.” You told the group, ignoring Tina’s question for the time being. You knew she wouldn’t let it go forever though.
Nodding, Newt repositioned his arm to hold you tighter as you both moved away from Theseus, and towards the Hogwarts Professor.
When the three of you met in the middle, Albus took a moment to survey the two of you, before his eyes settled on Newt.
“Is it true? About Leta?” He asked, his voice soft.
“Yes.” Newt responded, voice choked with suppressed emotion. You squeezed the hand that was settled by your waist, knowing how upset the man must be right now.
“I’m so sorry.” Albus responded, his voice growing somber, eyes losing their twinkle for the moment.
“Albus.” You spoke up finally, fiddling with the vial hidden in your pocket. Albus took his troubled eyes away from Newt’s, and then locked on yours. “I have something that I think belongs to you.” With Albus and Newt’s attention on you, you pulled the vial from your pocket and held it out to view. Albus looked stunned, while Newt looked contemplative. After seconds spent in silence, your friend spoke up.
“It’s a blood pact, isn’t it?” Newt asked, to which Albus merely nodded in response. “You swore an oath not to fight each other.” He guessed.
“How in the name of Merlin did you manage to get this?” The professor asked, reaching out to take the vial. You merely pulled the niffler from your coat, a mischievous smile on your face as you glanced a Newt.
“My brother doesn’t seem to understand the nature of the things that he considers simple. He never has.” You told the man in front of you.
“Can you destroy it?” Newt asked as Albus continued to examine it.
“Maybe.” He responded, holding his arms out and gesturing for Theseus to remove the guard from around it. “Maybe.” He spoke again. Taking the blood pact into his hands and storing it away in one of his many coat pockets. “Would you both like a cup of tea?”
“I’ll have some milk.” Newt joked, a smile lighting up his face. “Hide the teaspoons.” He teasingly warned, taking his niffler back from you. “I don’t know whether to be angry at you for using my niffler to steal from the darkest wizard in history, or proud that you thought of it.”
“Well I have been working with you for over a year, I’m bound to pick up some of your tricks. Or did you already forget how you used the swooping evil in New York?” You teased, bumping his shoulder as the two of you walked alongside Albus towards the castle.
“That was different!” Newt defended, playing right along with you.
“No it wasn’t!”
“Yes it was!”
“You’re only saying that because this time I was the one who thought of it!”
“While I do enjoy watching the two of you go back an forth like this, can someone explain to me why you’re leaning against Newt like that?” Albus interrupted, watching you closely from the other side of Newt.
“Grindelwald used an immense amount of fiendfyre tonight and y/n here thought it was a good idea to try and hold it off by herself.” Newt told him, causing two sets of eye to narrow at him for two different reasons.
“Might I suggest moving our little tea party to the infirmary then?” Albus suggested, changing the direction in which they all had been heading.
“I’m fine Albus.” You muttered, but neither man listened. After being dragged to the infirmary and being forced into a bed by the healer there, you were forced to drink a couple different potions to replenish your magical core. After downing the last one, which suspiciously tasted like dreamless sleep, you found yourself cursing mentally as you drifted nearly immediately into a deep sleep.
You woke hours later to a darkened hospital wing, groggy yet feeling fully restored after the past weeks events. Yawning slightly, you went to stretch your arms and legs out, only to freeze when you realized someone had a grasp on your left hand.
Glancing in that direction, you realized that Albus must have joined you after you had fallen asleep for he was knocked out in a chair pulled next to your bedside. You took a moment to admire the man beside you, taking in his calm features. There was no denying that he had grown into a ridiculously handsome man, and there was no doubt that you weren’t attracted to him. But the man was still 4 years your senior, and an extremely powerful wizard; one highly regarded by most of Britain. You were just an American Auror who had been running away from her childhood since you were 14. You had no chance with him.
So caught up in your thoughts, you didn’t even realize it when Albus woke up. He watched you for a few seconds, before clearing his throat and startling you. Your eyes jumped up to his, widening when you realized he had caught you staring at him.
“Good morning.” Albus spoke, voice soft in the early morning hours. Neither of you realized that his hand was still holding onto yours.
“Was it really necessary to drug me?” You asked, voice a little hoarse from sleep.
“It wasn’t me that gave you the potions.”
“Sure, just like you didn’t interfere in Paris. Not you actually doing it, but still your idea.” You replied sarcastically, though your tone bordered on teasing. Albus, however, seemed to take it to heart.
“You know I would have gone myself if I could. It was torture watching you go off to fight him again knowing that I could do nothing.” There was a hint of anger and pain in his voice, which needless to say shocked you greatly.
“We’ll work on the blood pact Albus, we’ll fix it. And then you’ll be free to take my brother down.” You reassured him, making sure to maintain eye contact so he knew you were sincere. “But until then I’m going to be there making life as hard as possible for him. We all know it’s gotta be you to stop him in the end, but Newt and I will block him in every way that we can.”
“I really wish you wouldn’t.” Albus whispered, voice carrying a tense note to it.
“What, why?” You asked, sitting up in bed. Albus’ hand stayed in yours, but you decided to ignore it for the time being.
“I don’t want you putting yourself in danger any more than you have already.”
“Albus, I can take care of myself.” You responded, staring at the man in front of you with a tinge of annoyance. “I’m not 14 anymore.”
“Oh I know. Merlin I know.” He laughed, running a hand through his beard nervously. “But in the end, it doesn’t stop me from worrying about you.” His eyes were unfocused, as if reliving some type of memory. “No, no. I’ll probably never stop worrying about you now.”
“Why?” You demanded, making his eyes snap back to focus. His gaze settled on yours once more, blue eyes sparkling with a tenderness you had never seen before.
“Because I already was foolish enough to let you slip through my fingers when I was 18. I don’t plan on letting it happen again.” The way he said it made it sound indefinite.
“I don’t understand.”
“Even then y/n, even when my selfish mind was wrapped up in your brothers fantasies, I knew there was something special about you.” He said, eyes staring into yours as if he could see right into your soul. “But like a foolish young boy, I didn’t realize just how special you were until you had disappeared from my life.” His tone sounded desperate now, and he was suddenly holding both of your hands in his. “And when I saw you again after over two decades, when I saw how you had grown into a beautiful and strong witch, I knew that I couldn’t let it happen again.”
“I still don’t-“
“Can you forgive me y/n? Can you forgive me for seeking what I thought was what I wanted? When all that I ever needed was right there in front of me in a stubborn 14 year olds body? Can you forgive me for not seeing how stupid I was back then?”
“I already-“
“And more importantly, can you look past all of my flaws? Can you learn to love me in time like I’ve loved you all along? Because I don’t think I could take it if you walked out of my life now.”
Now you were stunned. Did Albus just say he loved you? He couldn’t possibly mean it in the way you hoped, right? “Albus, I-“
“I’ll never stop trying to make you happy. I’ll take care of you for as long as you’ll let me. And I’ll never stop loving you.” By now your breath had been stolen from your lungs, heart fluttering as you registered his words. It’s all you had ever wanted to hear from the wizard, you could hardly believe it was actually happening. “I’m yours, if you’ll let me be.”
The devotion in his voice nearly made you lose it, but you shook yourself out of it. No words were really coming to your jumbled mind at the moment, but you settled for two simple words.
“Of course.”
“Really?” He asked, straightening up in disbelief. Finally finding your words, you straightened up with him and smiled warmly.
“Albus, I was smitten with you when I was 14. A handsome 18 year old that was kind and paid attention to me? It was every girls dream.” You mock swooned, causing the nervous man in front of you to relax and laugh slightly. “And then when I saw you again as a man, a very attractive one might I add, I felt my crush form all over again. It was impossible for me not to fall for you again.”
“Thank Merlin.” Albus muttered, before suddenly leaning forward and catching your lips in a quick and sweet kiss that you instantly melted into. You felt lightheaded and dizzy as you kissed him back, but your body felt as if you had just consumed an entire gallon of butterbeer. You felt so warm and content.
“Aberforth is going to kill me when he finds out.” You teased, a bright smile on your face as you pulled away.
“Why?” Albus chuckled, thumb tracing your cheek tenderly as he watched you.
“I think he’s under the assumption that I’m still a part of his anti-albus club. We formed it at Hogwarts when I was 16. He’ll be so disappointed that I’ve left him all alone in his crusade.”
Albus broke out into unabashed laughter, eyes closing as he threw his head back. After a few moments, he calmed down a bit and looked back at you with mischievousness in his eyes.
“Well we’ll just have to keep it a secret from poor old Aberforth for now, won’t we? Don’t think his heart could possibly stand the betrayal.”
“It’ll be worse than that time your mom banned Aberforth from the farm for 2 weeks for getting a D in Divination.”
“Maybe I’ll buy him a goat before we break the news to him, think he’d like that?”
“Albus! You are not buying your brother a goat!”
“But he loved them as a kid, I think he could do with a goat. Do you think he’d train it to wait tables at the bar?”
“Merlin, you’re ridiculous!”
“Maybe I’ll buy him a whole staff of goats. He’d definitely get more customers.”
“Albus Percival!”

People seem really angry about Credence “being a dumbledore.”But honestly I think you’d have to be thick to actually believe it. Grindelwald is manipulating him to hate Albus because he thinks Credence can kill him. By telling Credence that he is Albus Dumbledore’s brother, he can easily trick Credence into thinking that Albus abandoned him. He already knows about Ariana, he can twist that knowledge and make it out that Albus has a habit of turning his back on his family. And Credence wanting nothing more than love and acceptance from his family, is going to fall into a trap of anger and resent towards Albus.

“Why is it that whenever I get sent on extended missions, you two are the ones that get to have all the fun?” You had returned just a few hours ago from an extended investigative mission that had you traveling the United States for 6 months. The first thing you did was head to your apartment, hoping to catch up with your roommates. You had met Queenie and Tina at school, and the three of you had been close ever since. They’d practically taken you in as a third sister, inviting you to move in with them when you had graduated. That had been ten years ago, and you were still by their sides. This was the third time you’d had to leave on a long mission, and the second time something big had happened to the sisters while you were gone. They had more excitement then you did. “And not only that, but out of all the things that could of happened, this had to happen while I was out of town. I mean- Newt!” You suddenly exclaimed, making your two friends jump slightly. “Newt Scamander! Of all the times to randomly arrive in New York, it has to be when I’m not here!” Queenie and Tina now exchanged confused glances, wondering how you knew the British wizard. “Oh come on you two, do you ever listen to me? Newt’s the one I’ve been talking about since last summer. He’s worked with Chinese Fireballs and Thunderbirds! He’s amazing! I’ve been reading his work for over a year, but here you two go meeting him and you don’t even know who he is!” “Wait, that’s the same Newt?” Tina asked, her eyes wide as she took in the new information. “Yes!” You exclaimed, waving your hands around frantically. “He’s finally giving a voice for the rest of us avid creature lovers, and I’d love nothing more than to help him. They say he has a case full of-“ “-all his creatures. Well that parts true.” Tina cut you off nonchalantly, making you gawk at her. “You mean you’ve seen it?!” “Oh honey, we both were in it.” Queenie said, eyes alight with amusement. “Oh my Merlin!” You shouted, eyes wide with jealousy and wonder. “What was it like? What creatures did he have? We’re there any dragons? Well maybe not dragons, they probably wouldn’t fit. I guess that rules a thunderbird out too.” “Actually...” Tina trailed off, letting out a slight squeal as you jumped towards her, nearly knocking her out of her chair. “Tell me everything!” ~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~ It has been three months since you had returned home, and everything was back to normal. Well, as normal as it could be with three crazy witches living together. Today had been one of the rare days where you were actually able to get a day off. After spending most of the morning and afternoon relaxing and reading books, you’d gone grocery shopping so that you could prepare something for dinner. When you got back to the apartment later, you noticed an unfamiliar jacket on the coat rack. Thinking it was just Jacob’s, the no-maj your sister Queenie was in love with, you shrugged it off. Dropping off the bags in the kitchen, you swung around when you heard Tina call out to you. “Y/N, we have someone we want you to meet.” She called, a laugh hidden in her voice. Curious, you made your way over to the girls, noticing an unknown male at the table. “Y/N, this is Mr. Scamander.” Queenie spoke, causing you to freeze in your steps. “Mr. Scamander, this is our best friend and honorary sister Y/N.” You continued to stare at the man in disbelief, even as he stood from his seat and made his way toward you. “Hello.” He spoke softly, briefly making eye contact with you before looking away. “H-hi!” You choked out, hardly believing that this was actually happening. “It’s an honor to meet you, Mr. Scamander. I’ve read all of your articles.” “Please, Newt’s just fine, Y/N.” He told you, a cute grin on his face. Your heart fluttered at the gentle way he spoke your name, but you quickly shook yourself out of it. “Gosh, it’s so surreal that you’re here. There’s so much that I want to talk to you about!” You gushed, grabbing the shy man’s hand in yours. His cheeks dusted a light pink, but he didn’t make any move to get away from you. “Tina says you have quite the interest for creatures yourself.” Newt spoke, eyes moving to meet yours again. Temporarily finding yourself unable to speak at the gleam in his eyes, you merely nodded. “Would you like to meet some of them?” “Would I ever.” You spoke, a dreamy look in your eyes as you thought of all the different creatures out there. You snapped out of it when Newt suddenly squeezed your hand, pulling you towards the back study. “Where are we-“ Your speech broke off when you noticed a lone suitcase sitting on ground, and your head snapped towards Newt’s. “Is that..?” Instead of answering your trailed off question, Newt simply pulled you to the suitcase. He bent down, letting go of your hand, and opened the latches. “Watch your step going down.” Newt told you with a smile, before disappearing into the suitcase. In complete and total awe, you eagerly followed the handsome man down into the suitcase. He helped you down from the last couple of steps, and then stood back so you could take in his work room. “Incredible.” You murmured, eyes taking in all of the potions, equipment and papers in the room. There were also different bags filtered all around the room, which you assumed were the food for all of the animals. “Wait until you see what’s outside.” Newt told you, grinning as he watched you explore his workspace in wonderment. “This is singlehandedly the most amazing thing I have ever seen.” You told him, finally looking back at him after 5 minutes. “Would you like to see more?” He asked, gesturing towards the door. “Is that really even a question you have to ask?” Without waiting for him to answer, you grabbed his hand and excitedly pulled him out of the shed. You froze once again though, causing Newt to bump into you from behind. He quickly grabbed your shoulders to steady you, but you took no notice as your eyes took in everything before you. The case must have stretched on for a mile, holding hundreds of creatures with in it. There were all different types of habitats, some sharing different creatures and some empty. “Come on, there’s something I want to show you.” Newt suddenly spoke, gently pulling you to a more mountainous part of the case. “He’s one of my newer findings. He was hurt when I found him, and I’ve been taking care of him until he’s strong enough to return to the mountains. I may even give him to an old professor of mine to look after him. Queenie told me Thunderbirds are your favorite. Well I don’t currently have one of those, but he is related.” When Newt finally stopped, he made a high pitched bird noise into the sky. A few moments later there was an answering call, and suddenly there was a burst of flames in the sky. “Is t-that a, oh Merlin that’s a Phoenix!” You exclaimed, gripping Newt’s arm excitedly as the beautiful bird flew closer. The Phoenix stopped in front of the two of you, bowing it’s head slightly toward Newt before looking at you. “They’re really intelligent, they can understand what is said to them. And they can analyze situations and come up with solutions. Not to mention their healing properties and Burning Day abilities.” You continued to stare at the bird in front of you as Newt spoke, taking in everything you could. “He’s beautiful.” You whispered, eyes sparkling in glee. “His name is Fawkes. He’d probably let you hold him if you want. Just hold out your arm to him.” Doing as Newt said, you held out your arm and watched as the bird calmly landed on it. You softly began to stroke it’s feathers, becoming stunned as the bird began to let out soft musical sounds. “He likes you.” You turned to look at Newt then, a huge smile on your face full of gratitude. Newt found himself momentarily lost for words as he stared back at you, wondering just where you had been hiding all his life. “Thank you Newt.” ~~~~~Time Skip~~~~~ “I’ve finished my book you know.” Newt spoke an hour later, walking you back to the shed. After feeding some of the smaller animals with him, you’d both decided that it was time to eat yourselves. You were very hesitant to leave at first, but Newt reassured you that you could come back anytime while he was in New York. “It’s actually the reason I came back here, I promised Queenie and Tina I’d bring them a copy when it’s done.” “I can’t wait to get a copy of my own, I can already tell that it’s going to be amazing just by the amount of time you’ve put into all these creatures. They’re so lucky to have you.” You told him sincerely, smiling sideways at him as he blushed lightly. “I still have my original copy. It’s a little messy, and there’s a lot of spelling errors, but it’s all the same information. It’s yours, if you want it.” “Are you serious?” You asked, pausing in your walk and turning to the tall man. He turned to you as well, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly as he looked to the ground. “It’s not every day that I meet someone as interested in my creatures as I am. I can think of no one better to have it. I want you to have it.” He was so sincere that you nearly cried at his words. But instead, you chose to crush him in a tight hug. “Thank you Newt. I’d love to have your original copy.” You mumbled against chest, before pulling back and placing a chaste kiss on his cheek. “Mind you, I’m going to need you to sign it first. No book of mine is complete without the authors signature.” Upon seeing the way his face had turned red, you decided to continue on your walk as to not embarrass the man any further. He recovered quickly, walking alongside you and taking your hand gently in his. “Well we can’t have that, can we?”

A/N: I know Albus was gay, but I’m just really attracted to the ‘Crimes of Grindelwald’ Dumbledore played by Jude Law. And I can’t be the only one, right? This takes place after Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and is completely AU since obviously we don’t know what happens yet. I just had this story inspiration and had to write it down. Hope you all like it! The Grindelwald family was never quite right after their mother passed away. Mr. Grindelwald took to working and drinking, hardly taking any time to pay attention to either of his children. The oldest child, 13 at the time, locked himself in his room and didn’t let anyone else in. The youngest child, only 11 years old, felt lost. With no father or brother to talk to, she threw herself into her school work and friends. Your brother, Gellert, had been a good older brother growing up. You loved him with all your heart, idolized and admired him. Even after he began changing into a cruel person, you still clung to the person he used to be. The summer after he was expelled from school, you decided to join him at your Great Aunt Bathilda’s house in Godric's Hollow. Gellert was unhappy to have you there, not wanting you to get in between his and his friends plans. You had always had a strong stance for equality of all kinds; be it blood status, gender, class standing, or even creatures. You believed that every living thing deserved rights. This was one of the things that ostracized you from your classmates, not that you really ever cared. The friends you made in school were brilliant, and you wouldn’t change them for anything in the world. Regardless of your brother not wanting you interfering with his plans, he’d introduced you to his friend Albus. Over the next two months that you spent with him, you grew to have quite the crush on the boy that was four years your senior. Albus was very kind and patient with you, something that was unusual for boys his age. Most 18 year olds acted as if younger girls were non-existent, but Albus always went out of his was to make you smile. It was like a slap in the face when reality caught up to you. You’d decided to tidy up the house while your Aunt and brother were out one day, when you came across a bunch of letters strewn around Gellerts room. Becoming curious when you noticed Albus’ neat handwriting, you took a peek. What you found in those letters would haunt you for years after. All the rumors you had heard about your brother were suddenly more believable; why he spent so much time locked in his room, the reason for his suspension, why he wanted to come to Godric’s Hollow in the first place. And what was even more horrifying; Albus, gentle and charming Albus, was actually helping him. You’d confronted them that afternoon, arms crossed and eyes stern. Gellert had just brushed aside your anger, not really caring what you thought of him. Albus though, had told you that a young girl like yourself couldn’t possibly understand that what they were doing would be for the greater good. You just couldn’t understand how ruling over millions of defenseless muggles could be for ‘the greater good’. When you said as much, Gellert had just turned away while mumbling how the muggles were lucky that they’d even be allowed to live. If it were solely up to him, he’d wipe the muggles from existence. That was the last straw. The next morning you were on a train to Scotland, to stay with your cousin while you finished your schooling. You’d never talked to either boy again after that. It was years later when your brother actually gained a following and began rising in power. Horrified at what he was doing, yet too afraid to ever face your brother head on, you fled to America. With the help of the President of MACUSA, you changed your last name and some of your features. In exchange, you worked for the Auror department in America. Eventually you rose up the ranks and worked just under Percival Graves himself. You were his second hand man, his most trusted colleague. Until you weren’t. He returned from a raid one day acting strange. He became secretive, withdrawn and more tempered. You brushed it aside for a while, but eventually you had to confront it. When Percival sentenced Tina and Newt to execution, you decided to act. You helped free the two, and snuck Newt’s case from right under Graves’ nose. You discussed your suspicions with Newt, which led him to later reveal the man was actually another in disguise. And suddenly you were face to face with the past you had tried so hard to run from. He at least didn’t know who you were, but you became a target none-the-less. After the events in New York settled down, Newt invited you to finish his book with him. The two of you got along really well, both bonding over your love for creatures. And while Newt was really good with he creatures, he wasn’t very good with his words. So while he was in charge of knowing about all of his Beasts, you were in charge of writing it down for him. You made a great team. Which brings you to the present; being dragged through the city of London after being rudely woken up this morning. “Newt, I don’t understand what the rush is! It’s only 7 in the morning, you know I love my sleep on a day off.” You whined childishly, trying to slow the frantic man down. “Grindelwald escaped.” The Hufflepuff finally told you, causing you to grow tense. “We both know there are targets on our backs for what we did to him, I need to talk to one of my old professors.” “Why?” You asked, trying to calm your racing heart beat. You wondered if your friend could hear it. “He’ll know what to do.” He said simply, and the two of you grew silent. You let Newt continue to pull you along, until he finally found a place safe enough for apparition. The two of you turned on the spot, moments later appearing on the roof of one of London’s tallest buildings. There was a man waiting for you, back turned and looking down at the city below. “Professor Dumbledore.” Newt spoke, causing you to freeze as the man before you finally turned. Surely it couldn’t be- “Newt.” The man said, a smile on his face as he looked at his old student. “It’s nice to see you again, though I believe we’ve already discussed this professor nonsense. I am no longer your professor, therefore there is no reason for you to still call me by that name.” “Right, sorry pro- er I mean Albus.” Newt corrected, earning a pleased smile from the older man. Albus’ gaze then landed on you, causing Newt to introduce you. “This is y/fake/n, she’s the one that helped me in New York. Y/fake/n, this is Albus Dumbledore. He teaches Transfiguration at Hogwarts.” “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Ms. Y/fake/n.” Albus spoke, offering you his hand. You finally shook yourself out of your shock, moving your eyes away from the handsome man in front of you and looking to your friend. “Are you sure we can trust him?” You asked Newt, glancing at Albus through the corner of your eye. The man had retracted his offered hand, watching you curiously. “Of course we can! I’ve known him since I was 11!” Newt defended, wondering why you were glancing distrustfully at his former professor. “I can assure you, I have but good intentions. I’d like to see Grindelwald defeated just like anyone else.” Albus spoke up, his words seemingly honest. “Forgive me if I don’t believe you, Professor.” You spoke cooly, eyes never leaving his blue ones. “But the last time I saw you, you thought Gellert’s ideas were for ‘the greater good.’” “How..?” Albus trailed off, eyes narrowing on you suspiciously. You could see his mind racing, trying to figure out how you possibly knew that part of his past. Suddenly he froze, his eyes widening in realization. “Who are you really?” He mumbled, taking a step closer to you. Newt watched from the side in shock as you raised your wand, tapped it against your head once, and mumbled a spell under your breath. A wave seemed to wash over you, changing your features into a slightly different person. “Y/N.” Albus breathed, voice soft as he took in your changed appearance. “It’s been a while.” You told him, folding your arms across your chest like you had all those years ago. “I can see why you’d be so weary of me.” Albus spoke, taking another hesitant step towards you. “But I’m not that 18 year old boy anymore. I haven’t been friends with Gellert for years, since a few days after you left actually. You leaving made a divide in our friendship, which only deepened when I realized that you were right. It took me losing you and my sister to realize that Gellert was wrong. That I was wrong. And I’ve spent every day since trying to make up for that. I’m sorry Y/N.” “I’m sorry about Ariana, I heard about her passing a week after I left. I wanted to go back for the funeral, but I just.. I couldn’t face either of you again.” You told him, arms falling limply to your sides as relief washed over you from his words. “I read all of your letters, to Aberforth.” He told you suddenly, peaking your interest. “I really missed you after you left. I must have wrote hundreds of letters to you, trying to apologize, but I threw all of them away. I couldn’t apologize for something like that through a letter. I kept hoping that maybe I could find you, I’d heard you transferred to Hogwarts so I always watched for you at the end of term. I could never find you.” He admitted, making you smile finally. “Aberforth warned me that you were looking for me, so I always waited till the last minute to get off the train. I was avoiding you at all costs because I thought you were still set in Gellerts ways. I’m sorry.” You said sincerely, lookin away from his intense eyes for a moment. It was then that you realized that Newt has disappeared, probably to let the two of you talk. You’d have to explain everything to him later, hopefully he wouldn’t be too upset with you for lying to him all this time. Albus grabbing your hands in his had your attention turning back to the wizard once again. “Do you think you could ever forgive me? I’ve spent the last 26 years trying to repent for all those thoughts I so foolishly had, and not a day goes by where I don’t regret the fact that some of his plans were given to him by me. I never want to see that look in your eyes that you gave me that day again. You were so disappointed in me, like you knew I could be better. And I want to be better. For you and for my sister, and for everyone out there that’s ever been treated unfairly. Please, do you think you could give me another chance.” Albus’ eyes were twinkling as he stared down into your eyes, sending you heart racing and your palms sweating. You suddenly weren’t a grown woman anymore, you were that 14 year old who had been enamored by the handsome older boy. “So you no longer think that wizards should rule over the muggles?” You asked, a slow grin taking over your face. When Albus shook his head, you continued. “And you don’t think muggleborns should be treated any differently than pure bloods?” You were positively beaming when he nodded again, a mischievous glint in your eyes. “Well, all that’s left now is for you to sign my petition for the fair treatment and protection of all magical creatures and I’d say a second chance would be in the near future.” Albus laughed wholeheartedly at that last bit, smiling fondly down at you. “I’d even sign that petition for the freeing of all House Elfs that you made back then if that’s what it takes.” He teased, causing you to smile widely and take the last step towards him. He pulled you against his chest, hugging you tightly in relief and he pressed a gentle kiss to your forehead. “I missed you too, Albus.”

New Fantastic Beasts Blog!
So of course I loved Fantastic Beasts and where to find them when it came out, but I was really into writing Avengers imagines at the time. But with the new trailer for the Crimes of Grindelwald, I’m literally obsessed with all the characters. So now I’ve decided to give this a go! I’ll be writing imagines for any of the characters from the Fantastic Beasts franchise, and maybe even throw in some Harry Potter characters as well! Feel free to send in any requests you might have and I’ll do my best to get to them! For now..
