The way BVB handled Marco's situation just showed that loyalty just doesn't exist in football anymore. We blame players all the time for leaving and having no loyalty to their previous clubs but clubs aren't loyal either. There are no guarantees for those players if they choose to follow their hearts and sacrifice their careers for the clubs they love. They'll throw you away at the first opportunity. The least BVB could've done was give him the chance to retire at the club he loves and sacrificed everything for but that was too much to ask.
