Someday I'll Write It:
In my AU headcanon, Leia is 100% a daddy's girl. That doesn't mean Leia and Anakin don't have their antagonistic moments - as a matter of fact, their father-daughter disputes are the stuff of legends.
So frequently do I hear Anakin say, "That look doesn't work for your mother, young lady, so it's not going to work for you," that sometimes I forget it isn't actually canon, AU or otherwise.
Sometimes, Padmé enjoys watching Anakin get a taste of his own medicine.
But then I also see so clearly through Padmé's eyes infant Leia being a fuss bucket until Anakin cuddles her close. Over and over, I've watched Padmé throw a blanket over them both fast asleep in her nursery, Anakin's arms cradling the snuggled-up, soothed Leia on his chest, before she peeks in on a sound asleep Luke (nothing can wake that child). It makes my heart ache.

fandom tumblr was another casualty of streaming services. we used to be on here posting about the episodes that were coming out weekly and posting gifs and writing insane shit about the tv shows we liked. now a new season of a show will drop and we’ll talk about it for a week. two weeks tops. and then that show will leave collectively conscious for 1+ year till the next season drops. there’s a reason succession sundays was a blast on here

I do find it facinating how Dracula Daily has turned Dracula into a different kind of myth now that we're in its third year running. I've seen a few people compare it to Hadestown, or a timeloop. The enjoyment isn't JUST from engaging with the story now, it's engaging with the experience, and while the emails are still the same as previous years, we've been through this before.
The way we as an audience interact with this story and this way of telling the story changes the genre. Its no longer a gothic horror, classic lit story. It's become a mythology, a tragedy, a repeating loop. Jonathan Harker returns to the castle every year. Every year it happens again. And that changes it, builds up new mythos around it, even if the words stay exactly the same.
