Ever since my years as a 1970s teen, her music set my spirits free.
For those of you her miss her beautiful voice and feminine beauty

Tex Avery makes me laugh hysterically!
I was born and raised a poor strugglin' farmer's kid in rural Shelby County
Misunderstood by my peers... hence snubbed continually
And shunned to the max by the local elites of the Sidney buisiness community
Bullied and branded and called everything from a retard to a queer (which I wasn't)
I just wanted to be treated with equality and dignity.
But hey, it was all about playing favorites with those who had good looks... a title...social stauts ....and money.
Hence I became a blues poet..with a love for animated cartoon comedy.
Tex Avery was practically like a virtual freind to me
Watching his zany off the wall animated antics
That always made me laugh hysterically!
His years of working for Walter Lantz at Universal
And later for Termite Terrace at Warner Bros. and even more so at MGM
Hey, I'm just an average guy..who needs a good laugh in this evil secularized world..fixin' to come to an apocaylptic end.
The world is in desperate need of peace, love and understsnding
...and even more so in faith in God and of laughter.

St. Dymphna...I STILL NEED YOUR HELP!!!
A snowy Sunday afternoon in Maria Stein.
Two inches of the white stuff melts on the highway
And clears the way on the state route lane
As I am in desperate need of healing from dementia
Which is driving my wife insane!
St. Dymphna...I DON’T like getting old
My cynical wife can’t take it anymore
As her morbid heart has turned ice-cold.
The older we get, the more negative we get
I come here to be cured, delivered and healed
Here in God’s County...Mercer County’s biggest cornfield.

Lord God
Who has graciously chosen Saint Dymphna to be the patroness of those afflicted with mental and nervous disorders, and has caused her to be an inspiration and a symbol of charity to the thousands who invoke her intercession, grant through the prayers of this pure, youthful martyr, relief and consolation to all who suffer from these disturbances, and especially to those for whom we now pray.
We beg you to accept and grant the prayers of Saint Dymphna on our behalf.

Hear Me Loving Mother
Been visiting the OLC Shrine since 1999
Hoping for my prayers to be answered in this evil wicked time.
Up until the summer of 2022
The mrs asked me to stop driving up there
Yet I’m drawn to this beautiful shrine like glue
Since the Lady of Consolation has endowed me
With the of AA gift of sobriety, inner peace and serenity.
I’m now in my late 60s pushing 70
Now afflicted with dementia and memory loss too
The mrs is afraid I’ll wreck my car and kill someone
On the Holy Feast day of Mary’s Assumption
And end up being imprisoned or even sued from a traffic fatality sin.
I’ve asked a fellow Piqua parishioner to drive me up there once again
On that same cherished holy day up in God’s Country
And to lead my wife and three sons back to the Catholic faith and the sacraments
And to be a happy and faith-filled family.
Dear Lady of Consolation..
I so much more need your intercession
...and even more so..(as my gut feelings are telling me)
that your apparitions in Medugorje will come to an end soon
and still even more so telling me
that we’re heading towards the Great Tribulation!

Though I'm not a Catholic woman I'm just a struggling Catholic dude
Whom I also admire you so much too.
I'm 69 pushing 70..listening to WJTA "Holy Family Radio"
My car radio is cranked up while I'm up at the OLC Shrine in Carey In God's country don't 'ya know.
I'm struggling with dementia..my memory is fading away
My wife left the Catholic faith a long time ago
When she pulled my autistic son outta Catholic school by the way
She considers us Catholics as hateful hypocrites
And it broke my heart in two
So insolent and downright arrogant
And I feel so much like a dejected fool.
I listen to your daily show on EWTN Radio
And since I've retired from the lumber farm
I also watch you live at home on You Tube even more so.
Your smiles, faith and cheerfulness brighten my darken days
I Begged my wife to return to the faith
But much to my dismay
She refuses to come back today!
Thanks for your smiles and your feminine tenderness
Please continue to pray for her morbid and cynical soul
...even today.

Three Days of Darkness Blues
"Another year over, and a new one just begun."
(so said Mr. Lennon)
As a young person in my teens and twenties, I so much wanted to be a Dayton broadcast legend...
.....but instead I was handed a sour lemon.
Stuggled for five years at a broken-down FM station in a radical right wing racist white trash Indiana town
My bosses were supporters of the ever-arrogant anti-semetist "Liberty Lobby", the racist Ku Klux Klan and the fear-factor-based John Birch Society
Needless to say it so much gave me the blues and I was feelin' depreciated,dejected, demeaned and down.
And the self-righteous holy-roly hilljack preachers thumping their king james versions...also claiming that Dr. King was a commie.
Was fired in 1979 and moved back to my home stomping ground of Sidney and Shelby County.
Worked for a year in a plastic 2 liter pop bottle factory, where I was branded "dummer than a hay rake" by the drug-dealin'/dope smokin' bubbas
..and evetually was fired once again.
In due time I finally realized that we're living in a day in age of "people being lovers of their own selves"
Biblical prophecy bein' fulfilled in my face... all around me.
Abortion, same-sex marriages and I could and can go on....such a lowdown, yet prophectic self-righteous mass murder sin!
But this is just the beginning
I met my wife in 1979..and we both married-up in 1982.
Brought three sons into the world....one of which afflicted with autism...and the other two with attention deficit disdorders
Needless to say my wife became increasingly cynical
And pulled my sons out of the local Catholic elementary school.
She got her "tubes tied" after my youngest son was born
And arrogantly justified it in the name of "a woman's right to choose"
And became a devil's advocate for the LGBTQs
(though she herself isn't one of them...yet she is wearing their shoes)
....how selfish, unrighteous, anti-Catholic and uncool.)
I feel like a loner in the Catholic faith..and it so much gave me the blues..hence I became a volunteer for Catholic radio
And now I feel the inner-peace of the Spirit, though I still struggle to this day
But the times are fixin' to get worse to aplocalypic proportions.
As my deepest gut feelings are telling my broken heart and aching soul
That the three days of darkness are now heading our way.
So please head the messages of Our Lady of Medjugorje.
The apocalypyse is surely heading our way!
(What else an I say?.....)
COME LORD JESUS...please take me and my family home by your tender loving mercy.

Another Christmas done passed...
Christmas day fell on a December 25th Sunday
The near-sub-zero snowfall prevented freinds and relatives
From coming over that day.
But here in Ohio I really didn't mind.
Ain't nothing new for me
And for once in a while my wife of forty-plus years was very kind.
For it was just my wife and me
And my three grown-up sons
Awaiting to tear open their packages for all of us to see.
Christmas music played in the background on the air and online

Memories of Christmas come to mind back when I was a nerdy kid
And drifting snows along country county roads.
Went to 6pm Mass on Christmas Eve
Instead of Midnight Mass
Stopping in afterwards at the street corner ma and pa gas station
And for just a breif spell...the price went down just a little for a tank of gas.
I've never been much of a professional gift wrapper
(granted I'm no professional artist per-se)
So I let the Lehman Band Boosters do it for me instead
And comparatively speaking that pleased my better half just the same anyway.

deadbeat mall blues
it opened up in 1987
replacing the the piqua east mall which opened down the street in the latter 1969 just fifty-three years before
a bigger better mall next to the interstate
when local shoppers demanded more.
I remember taking my wife and then-infant turned toddler sons there.
miami valley centre mall became piqua's official super-store.
needless to say the much older mall nearly went kaput
later becoming a revamped shopping plaza
(or "strip mall " if you will)
somehow by God's grace the former piqua east still survives
as "miami valley crossing" dontcha know.
sears, j.c. penney and elder-beerman among others
brought in shoppers by the hordes
today most of the stores moved out leaving behind its 30 some-odd year legacy
leaving behind just a small handfull of local struggling businesses
reminding me of the abandoned indian lake amusement park
known back then as "sandy beach" as such
just like the now long gone le sourdsville lake theme park..(later americana)
like them..it is slowly rotting into the likes of the afmorementioned such
eventually becoming a vacant lot..and a forgotttten memory
such a sad sight
(sho' 'nuff pretty much.)

Update on the mall mentioned above.
On March 3, of 2023, the property of the former Miami Valley Centre Mall has been purchased by new owners with the name changed to "The Piqua Center" which is under new ownership and is in the process of bringing back some local buisinesses among other community-oriented ventures.

Missing Olivia Blues
It was 1971
When I attended a local Catholic high school
Off I-75/Exit 93
In the farm country of Western Ohio's Upper Miami Valley.
I tried so hard to ask out a pretty steady girlfreind
But none of them ever wanted me.
I always did my homework at night with the radio on
Tuned to WCFL, WLS, CKLW and WING
Then suddenly I hear a soft acoustic guitar intro
Of a pretty sweet girl from down under singing ever so softly
of Bob Dylan's tune "If Not For You."
That song sung ever so angelically reached out to me
And ministered to me
A soft and silky feminine angelic voice
Belonging to a pretty sweet Aussic chick
Named Olivia Newton-John.
After graduation from Lehman
I went through that "party-hearty" phase
With my brother in the blues named Dave
At that time when the blues were speaking to me.
Jimi, Janis, Grand Funk Railroad and The Allman Brothers Band
Crusin' and blusin' the streets of downtown Piqua
With the radio also cranked up with "Let Me Be There"
And "I Honestly Love You."
Olivia's pretty soft and silky voice reminded me so much
Of my long missed Lehman Catholic cheerleader freind
Named Mary Lee (Dave's older sister)
Who was killed in a head-on car collision in May of 1972
Me and Dave have been brothers in the blues ever since.
I met my wife in 1979
At a former funeral home (turned rock and roll bar)
Which later became a sports trading card business.
We married up in 1982
And I longed to "get physical" with my bride
And brought three sons into the world.
My wife tolerated my fandom for Olivia for so many years
Her beautiful,sweet angelic voice remained with me to this day.
She bravely fought her battle with breast cancer for so many years
Until August 8th of 2022
When my wife and sons informed me
That Olivia done passed away
I told my wife of forty years
That my prayers for the repose of Olivia's beautiful soul go with her.
I'm tryin' hard like the dickens not to break down in tears
....to this very day.
Oh and by the way Liv...
Thanks for singing Schubert's "Ave Maria" just for me
The music of an Aussie angel from down under
Still ministers to me to this day.
Thanks Liv for your wonderful magical music
Though I know deep down that you weren't Catholic.
Still (as I pray to this very day)
May Jesus and His Mother Mary
Lead you to Heaven with blissful eternal joys.
Surely you are now jammin' with the prasin' angels up yonder.
I pray that I will see you (and my long missed classmate Mary Lee)
On that much longed-for sweet eternal day.
