One fun thing that’s happened lately with Sammy is that he got a bit of Moon stuck in his head after I failed a roll to properly dispel Moon from his mind.

So now he’s having some moments where Moon’s thoughts and personality are bleeding into his. It’s very fun! Not so much for him, but a lot of fun for me!

When we have time for an interlude, Sammy’s gonna get some weird dreams. :3

The Ink Demonth 22

Today is Movement.

And I decided to make content for the BATIM MOTW game I’m a part of.

Sammy had been writing a song in his free time.

He wasn’t sure why he was doing this. He had work to do, after all. Deadlines to meet. But between assignments, he kept going back to that song. He supposed, in the end, it was his way of making sense of everything he’d seen, everything he’d gone through.

He had four movements so far: Dark Reflection, Twisted Doppelganger, Faced with the Devil, and Prayer for a Dead God.

The incident with the fae in the church was still too fresh for him to mine melodies from, but the incidents of the dark studio had been long enough ago that he could make music from it. He was still recovering from killing a sapient being, even if that being had been trying to kill him.

Plus, he’d had enough nightmares about that place that he thought he deserved to get something out of it.

Dark Reflection was his musical interpretation of how he’d felt when he’d seen the inky studio, so different from his own and yet…so familiar. It was a haunting number, eerie and unsettling to reflect how strange the experience had been.

Twisted Doppelganger was his feelings toward his counterpart from the inky studio. He still had…mixed feelings about the Prophet. When he’d first been met with this twisted reflection of himself, he’d wanted nothing more than to erase the other him. He didn’t want to think about how his other self had gone down that path. Mostly because he was pretty sure he knew exactly how it could have happened.

The movement incorporated melodies from Sheep Songs, along with a tune he’d heard the Prophet humming every so often.

Faced with the Devil was his recollection of their fight against the Ink Demon. And the loss of Henry. His heart still ached when he thought about that last part. It started as a dark thundering number that transitioned into something softer and more mournful.

He’d incorporated part of one of Henry’s favorite numbers for that last part, setting it in the minor key.

And finally…Prayer for a Dead God. That one was… Okay, it was honestly him trying to work through his complicated feelings toward Joey and Joey’s power. On the one hand, Joey was his friend and he definitely had some kind of romantic feelings toward him. On the other hand…Joey’s power terrified him. A part of him was terrified that power would turn Joey into someone he didn’t recognize. Someone more like the Joey who had created that inky studio. He’d already lost Henry. He didn’t want to lose Joey too.

He’d incorporated a melody into the movement that he associated with Joey for reasons he couldn’t quite explain. He tended to make up melodies to associate with people. If he spent enough time with a person, he’d find himself associating a certain melody with them. And this one was Joey’s.

The music…did make him feel better. As all the parts slotted together, it felt as though a weight was being lifted off of his shoulders. It was an enormous relief, honestly.

Especially since he would no doubt have more things that would be haunting him in the future. This was far from over. He was sure of it.

So I've been seeing a lot of this Bendy MOTW stuff going around. What's the deal with that? Also, why'd you pick Susie? Just curious.

Hey there! Great question anon, let me see if I can clear this up. So MOTW is the abbreviation for Monster of the Week, a tabletop game system (think like Dungeons and Dragons but less complicated, with dice rolling and character sheets and all that), and some friends and I play in a campaign that’s Bendy themed. I love our group so much, they’re amazing folks. <3 We’ve actually got a blog for our game if you want to read up on more of what we do at @batimmotw My buds do a lot of great art and have some phenomenal ideas.

Well, I went with Susie for a couple of reasons. First, I’m kind of the type to hang back and wait until everyone else picks, since I want to be strategic and fill in any gaps where we’re lacking in a strength. The rest of our party is heavily based in magic and picks up some of the fan favorites. I knew I wanted to play as a girl, so it was kind of down to Susie or Abby, and I determined I was not confident enough to play Abby at this point in my life. Also, I just really like her. Being a voice actress myself (albeit a hobbyist) and a lover of all things Alice Angel, it felt appropriate. I also knew I didn’t want to be the healer. EVERY TIME I play a tabletop game, I’m the healer, and I die, because the enemy always goes for the healer first, or I had to throw myself into danger to cover someone else’s mistakes. Susie has thankfully been more built to accommodate that. She’s charming and a nurturer sure, but she’s also pretty tough (as the only party member with a relatively decent physical stat). Girl will not hesitate to carry you over her shoulder like a sack of potatoes and put you to bed. I love my stronk chubby cherub girl so much. <3

anyways Jack Fain has the Crooked playbook and is canonically a crime boy who pissed off a goddess (he doesn’t know that he just thinks he pissed off the mafia which- isn’t much better)

So, MOTW Joey, what's in his closet? I'm half expecting a subtle gradient of suits.

He’s only got suits he’s like a cartoon character /j

Jokes aside, he does have a lot of suits in a variety of styles/shades (though they trend toward darker colors and grays). He’s very particular about his clothing; it has to look good AND feel good. He likes things that would be considered more formal, and he likes things that fit him a little more exactly. So I don’t really know what exactly he has in his closet, but I have a general idea of what he tends to wear.

i do think he’s a little averse to trying new things sometimes, so there might not be a huge variety? i think we should fix that

How does MOTW Joey feel about cats and dogs?

He likes both of them in theory, and is good with interacting with them, though he wouldn’t want to own one himself. He doesn’t appreciate how much they shed.
