You ever just be laying there knowing exactly what you want to do with your life but you’re waiting to get the stuff to do it ? And like you know it’s possible and you know you can do it but the waiting feels like you’re drowning. Okay but like, I want an Asexual character whose main goal is to find a boyfriend/girlfriend/partner. Like that stereotypical “best friend/side character” who is a hopeless romantic and always looking for a relationship, I want that, but Asexual.
Bonus points if the main character is Aromantic but not Asexual because too often Asexuality and Aromanticism are paired together even though they are not the same thing! and it’s important to highlight the difference between the two.

Last year for pride month, I set out to create a series of makeup looks to represent 5 different LGBT+ flags and posted them along with some information I found to try and help educate people that follow me. I also donated 5€ for each post to ILGA-Europe.
I don’t have much money but I really wanted to donate to this cause, especially since the LGBT+ situation in Europe has been getting worse in the near times and as someone who is from Europe I felt the need to do something about it.
Anyway, I will be posting these looks along with the information I shared on them on here now.

Similar to bisexuality, asexuals face adversity from both outside and withing the LGBT community, often tagged as straight or celibate and sometimes rejected out of the community for “not being oppressed the same way the rest of the community is”.
Unfortunately it is a fact that asexuals tend to face a lot of hate and negativity, sometimes leading to sexual assault for simply rejecting sexual advances, often under the disguise of wanting to “fix” the asexual individual. ⠀⠀
“As a community, LGBTQ people face higher rates of poverty, stigma, and marginalization, which puts them at greater risk for sexual assault. Moreover, the ways in which society both hypersexualizes LGBTQ people and stigmatizes their relationships can lead to intimate partner violence that stems from internalized homophobia and shame.”
According to past surveys 46% of bisexual women have been raped compared to the 17% of straight women, around half of them experiencing these things between the ages of 11 and 17.
40% of gay men and 47% of bisexual men have experienced sexual violence other than rape compared to the 21% of straight men. ⠀⠀
Imagine anyone you know can be part of the LGBT+ community and also part of these horrible statistics. They are just someones family, someones friends. Why do they have to experience the horrors of the world more prominently than their heterosexual peers?⠀
