"Ugh..!" A frustrated groan of pain escaped from Chiharu's mouth as he was knocked directly on his butt by the man in front of him. He could feel every part of his body pulsating, hurting. He was covered in bruises and scratches lining his body up and down, drops of blood illuminating in the moonlight. But he didn't really seem to mind it all that much, being too busy glaring the man in front of him down.
"Hm? Do you concede already?" Baki said, a small awkward smile appearing on his face. God, how Chiharu just hated that stupid little face of his. Oh, how bad he wanted to punch that dumb...adorable smile off of it. It was infuriating. They've already fought 5 times this week, but each time Chiharu just couldn't seem to get the upper hand over him. Not to mention that ridiculous cocky smile he always has to see when it's over. Chiharu sighed, laying his back down on the ground and staring at the sky. It was quite late, stars beautifully shining above the two.
"Well, what are you waiting for?" Chiharu says, interrupting the silence, still staring at the night sky.
"Hm?" Baki mutters lightly, clearly looking a little confused.
"You're just gonna stand there instead of finish me off?
Baki couldn't help but sigh, just what the hell does he mean finish him off?
"This fights already over." Baki said, sighing.
"It'll never be. If you don't end it right now. Go ahead."
"Kill me." Chiharu said, a small smirk on his exhausted face.
Before he could process why he'd even say something like that, Baki began walking towards him.
Then suddenly, he was on top of him, his arms outstretched beside Chiharu's head. Then there was that look. That look that always seemed to make Chiharu's head twirl. Those eyes that felt like they were always looking down on him happened to be so strikingly...beautiful. Chiharu felt his cheeks grow warmer the longer their sort of staring contest continued. That was until Baki suddenly broke the silence between them, leaning his head further down, their faces now inches apart.
"Chiharu." Baki said, a small smile painted on his lips. "If there's anyone out there who'd want to beat you to pulp, it would be nothing in comparison to how I do it."
Chiharu was completely dumbfounded, still thoughtlessly staring into Baki's eyes.
"But to kill you?" Baki couldn't help but slightly laugh at the thought. "I don't think I'd ever be able to do that." This made Chiharu's gaze soften, but before he could even manage to get any words out, Baki spoke.
"Because I admire you. I think you're amazing. In every aspect."
Holy shit. He admires...who? Chiharu's softer expression then formed into one of shock, his eyes slightly widening with a deep blush taking over his cheeks. This man, so gifted and great in all of the things he does, this guy who's not even comparable to me in the slightest and you're trying to tell me he...admires me? Chiharu couldn't wrap his head around it at all, but something about it made his heart pound outside of his chest.
"Not to mention..." Baki leaned his head even closer into Chiharu, his eyelids lowering.
"How cute you tend to be." Baki said softly, before planting a quick kiss to Chiharu's lips.
Seriously? He...seriously?
Chiharu's face was now redder than a tomato, his head spinning profusely and his heart beating faster than if he was still fighting.
"Baki...you..."
"Hehe." Baki laughed, a satisfied smile plastered on his youthful face.
And just like that, Chiharu lost to Baki twice in one night. Again.

What do you think Baki's functional ships would be?
Now this is interesting. So many people tend to ship Baki with his own father so maybe those people should take notes right about now.
Starting off with one of my favorites, Chiharu x Baki. Gonna be honest, this ship originally interested me because of all the homoerotic things Chiharu says to Baki in the english dub. (Pretty boy, Saying he looks good with a bloody nose, talking about his butt, etc) But when you really think about it, it's a pretty fun idea. In a way Baki has Chiharu wrapped around his finger in every aspect. Baki can pin him down and make him flustered easy as pie if he so felt like it, it's cute to think about. Not to mention they are both consenting adults who are not related to each other.
Know this ones pretty obvious since it's literally canon, but Baki x Kozue. They are just perfect to me. I adore how lowkey similar they are and how cute they are in their scenes in the animanga. Just two wonderful little lovers. I hope they flourish for all of eternity.
Baki x Kaoru. This ones a cute one, and was a lot of peoples first ship when starting the series, including mine. Baki having a gargantuan yakuza boyfriend who is actually a really nice guy and enjoys Baki's company the most is unsurprisingly, very sweet. As stoic as Kaoru may be, Baki always brings out the most in him. Love these two.
Sat here for an hour trying to think of any other functional Baki ships but genuinely nothing is coming to mind. If anyone can think of any other actual functional ships with Baki in it please let me know down below.

Baki, Retsu and Katsumi.
How are you about to give me the silliest, kindest characters and expect me to not give them all the green flag. Outrageous. But alas, I'll rank them depending on how good they'd be in a relationship (since thats what I assume you meant) Enjoy! (Also sorry for no red flag...I just...cant do that to them)
Retsu - Yellow flag
Barely any downsides to being with this guy, he's just generally very caring and does his best to understand his s/o's feelings as best he can. He'll definitely be there to talk with them about things that may be stressing them out. He'll respond with a bit of a simple answer, but it's very thoughtful and deeper than it seems at first. It feels almost like the answer was in front of them all along. But I will say, Retsu can get very reckless sometimes. We all know his incredible love for martial arts can get him to do some quite impetuous things that could get him severely hurt, and I doubt that a lover could really get him to stop doing such things. He loves fighting with every fiber of his being, even when he knows its can be extremely dangerous for him. They'd have to really do a lot to get him to be more careful, but he'll never let anything stop him from walking his own path. Yellow flag because of the somewhat rash decisions he makes when it comes to fighting that may upset or worry his s/o.
Katsumi - Green Flag
Wow, this guy is a god sent. He loves his s/o more than he loves himself, doing everything in his power to show them his love. If it's giving them little trinkets relating to their interests or just generally enjoying their company, he's always there to show them he cares. While he's usually doing something related to martial arts or karate (his special interest) (sorry) most of the time, he makes sure he always finds time to hang out with them. If it's going on dates or whatnot. He would absolutely love if they came to the dojo and trained with him. Seeing them indulge in one of his favorite things brings a smile to his lovable little face. Overall, just a really good boyfriend.
Baki - Yellow flag
God, this kid is an inconsistent character. Just...speaking factually here. But we can deduct how good of a lover he is by looking at his scenes with Kozue. And I think I can confidently say, he wouldn't be too bad of a boyfriend. I mean, we see how silly and compassionate he is with Kozue so it's not unfair to say he's a really fun and caring lover. Something that comes to my mind immediately when thinking about Baki in a relationship is when he told Kozue, straight up, he doesn't own her. He wants her to do the things she wants to do, even if it gets in the way of their relationship all because he loves her and wants her to be happy. Really shows how good of an s/o Baki is. I will say though, he's a bit similar to Retsu in the sense that he can be a bit heedless when it comes to fighting. He can also be pretty clueless when it comes to flirting and other things related to that. It just flies right above his head every time. They'd have to really say it to him straight if they want him to get the hint. But in the long run, he's a really nice boyfriend and he loves his s/o near and dear.

I don't think I ever shared my oldest baki hc of kosho and kurheas family obsession with orange/red hair, since it's a rare gene within the shinogi family they view it as a signed of greatness, which is bullshit but since they belive this red heads of the family are suspected to ve somthing great and all non-orange/redheads gets treated like shit.
Like there, mom is a brunette while her sister was a red-head who got all the attention while she was forgotten about, until she had kurhea and (kinda) became the center of attention (it was mainly kurhea but she was soaking tha shit up) so to keep the attention she decided to have kosho.....which didn't end well since he came out as a brunette.....poor baby.
WHAT SUCKS IS INSTEAD OF HER BREAKING THE GENERATIONAL TRAUMA OF NON-REDS BEING TREATED LIKE SHIT/FORGOTTEN SHE DOES KOSHO THE SAME WAY HER PARENTS TREATED HER , she literally forgets about him. Which is why kurhea was the main one looking after him, but their parents mainly focused on kurhea, wanting him to be successful.......mannnn there's so much to thus gc also
It ties into my hc that kurhea and kosho have a shit relationship with their parents (especially their mom) and a non existing one with their father. Especially kosho with his mother.....this is so bad mainly cause hes a carbon copy of his mother. They do have a lovely aunt who also is a redhead child.....hmmm, Ill probably make a long hc post about it

Doysumi hc's and such for the mentally unwell
• While it may seem like the clingier one out of the two would be Katsumi, it's actually quite the opposite. Hector absolutely hates the idea of anything bad happening to Katsumi, this fear causing Hector to be practically glued to his side at all times. Something in his blood just tells him he needs to be...protected. Kept away from any danger or even just things that might upset him. But on certain occasions, Hector's overall clinginess can be somewhat selfish, like keeping Katsumi from meeting with people out of jealousy. What do you get when you give a murderer psychopath who knows no love at all a nice guy who understands him and makes his heart pound in mysterious ways? A very clingy and protective murderer psychopath.
• I don't wanna make this seem like Katsumi's doesn't realize that Hector can't stay away from him and sometimes does things just to keep him by his side because Katsumi does know this. In fact, he's very aware of Hector's quite clingy feelings towards him. Despite what you may say about...Katsumi's way of thinking, he's actually quite attentive! He can realize when Hector is doing things to keep him from somewhere or someone, and tries to assure him that he really loves him, but he can take care of himself. The "love you" part usually gets him.
• Before meeting Katsumi, Hector had no concept of love or any sort of affection. The tight feeling in his chest and overall flustered feeling whenever he was around him completely and utterly confused him. Up until that point, he hadn't received any kind of affection or even kindness from anyone around him, so it suddenly overwhelming him was certainly jarring. He didn't recognize the feeling as love at all, at first. He considered whether or not Katsumi was using some sort of psychological karate technique on him (lol)
• While Hector isn't particularly one for baking or cooking, he does seem to enjoy (attempting) to make certain sugary foods for Katsumi and his very concerning sweet tooth. Oven almost exploded once but its fine. It should be fine. It's ironic though how Katsumi always makes a deal about not wanting to eat too many sugary things for health reasons but whenever he's faced with double chocolate chip cookies he...loses himself. I mean, have you seen how much sugar this guy puts in his tea? It's scary. But Hector really finds a kind of happiness in the sight of Katsumi enjoying the food he worked hard to make for him. He's often learning new recipes and consulting Retsu on cooking tips.
• Hector wasn't exactly...treated too nicely by his peers when he was younger, and it wasn't just because he was always alone. That red hue of his hair made him an easy target in particular. He was often called some pretty abhorrent names during his time in school. Katsumi, though, really likes Hectors hair and tends to compliment it quite often. He thinks the color is vivid and fitting for Hector. It's beautiful. He is beautiful. Katsumi really makes sure he knows this.
• Before Hector became as clingy as he is towards Katsumi, he originally was quite hesitant to get closer to him. He's never really gotten to know anyone, but at the same time he knows he's never really tried either. But even still, he closed himself off and attempted to distance himself from Katsumi. After all, he's just your typical cold-blooded killer. Why should he need to "open up" to someone? And not just anybody, someone who was so...different from him. "Why would this prodigy with an incredible future ahead of him want to be around...me of all people?" He couldn't help but laugh, taking a drag of his cigarette. He couldn't wrap his head around it at all. But that warm feeling when Katsumi was around. It was almost addicting. It was to die for.
• One of Katsumi's love languages is gift giving. Excessive gift giving. He sees a beautiful pair of expensive earrings while shopping? He buys them and gives them to Hector. A beautiful red dress that compliments Hector's style? He buys it and gives it to Hector. Blooming bouquet of roses? He buys them and gives them to Hector. I think you see the theme here. Hector does tend to worry about how much money he spends, but Katsumi always reassures him that it's really no big deal. (He has spent 100,000 yen on Hector in the last week.)
