Amira’s dream was to visit Japan and become a gyaru model - when I read that I instantly thought about myself and how that used to be my dream once. Before I got to Japan, it was the only thing I could think about and now, my time spent there is an experience I will cherish all my life. I’m sure most of you can relate. Sadly, Amira can’t make that dream come true on her own, because she can’t walk. 

I first heard about Amira’s story when a huge scandal shook our country - our “best” orthopaedist, renowned internationally, was experimenting on hundreds of children, instead of doing the routines procedures that could’ve fixed their minor problems. That’s what happened to Amira - she went in with a minor hip issue when she was one year old and, 11 surgeries later, she spends all her days in bed, as she can’t walk anymore - she can barely stumble, assisted by crutches. 

That’s why, along the way, she have up on ever managing to get to Japan. She gave up her hope that things will get better, as well as her motivation to do even the things she loved. We’re not going to let her abandon her dream, so we’ve started a fundraiser on indiegogo, so we can make that dream come true. God damn it, after all this suffering, she deserves it. We don’t want to just take her there, though, we want to do everything our my power to make this more than a trip, I want this to be an experience she’ll cherish forever. Together with Costrut, we are planning on taking Amira & her mother Emilia to the most wonderful places in Tokyo & Kyoto, as well as making her dream of becoming a gyaru model (as much as we can) come true. We’re going to not only guide and show her what Japan has to offer, but we’ll also shop for everything gyaru related Amira desires and organise as many shootings as possible in the two weeks we are going to spend there.
