If I had a nickel for every time a song called Cassandra was one of my favorite songs on an album with brilliant storytelling and impeccable lyricism, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it happened twice.

My personality summed up:
Me: Wearing a long flowing dress, bouncing home on a sunny day, smiling and saying hello to bunnies.
My headphones: The Yellowjackets soundtrack.

My favorite thing about learning that the creators of blue eye samurai are a mixed race couple whose mixed race daughter inspired them to create the show is that it means they, like many parents, were like “what should we do if people are mean to her because she’s mixed race” and the answer was “well we probably can’t just let her kill them all. but wouldn’t that be nice”

You know that feeling where you know you’ve missed a huge part of life? Something important that you waited for years to have and then you blink and it’s passed you by? Something that you know was supposed to set you up for happiness but you never got that thing and now you’re just alone? Stranded?
You know that feeling when you’re missing everything and you just wait in the dark, hoping something, anything, will change?

People have been reblogging this so I’ll try it again too.
Send me a character and I’ll tell you a song lyric that reminds me of them.

Sometimes you look around and realize that the life you thought was a fantasy is real, you just don’t have it. It exists, just not for you. You sit there and watch everyone around you live out the life you’d kill to have. And all you can do is observe. Because nobody wants to live that life with you, and it’s not the kind of life you can live alone.

I noticed that an amazing fic I read with over 60k words and over 900 kudos...didn't receive a single comment in 2022.
There were some comments in 2021, then a gap, then a few comments from this year. That is insane.
Ao3 is not built like Wattpad, it is not meant to be treated like the 'latest hits' page where you only read the new works, or where you only click on sort by number of kudos. It doesn't matter if the fic you like is not wip anymore - if you really like the story, comment. A simple heart will do. The author won't think you're annoying, in fact they'll probably be incredibly happy.
Fic authors don't deserve to have their work just disappear with no engament after few weeks pass. The fics don't deserve it either

One of the things that struck me while watching NATLA (still haven’t seen the last episode) is that there are so many moments in the original where realistically A LOT of side characters are being killed, even by the good characters, but in animation there’s an inherent childish nature and a suspension of disbelief which makes it so that those deaths don’t really register. But if you put those same fights in a live action, those deaths really hit and feel real, and the show automatically gets a lot darker and more gruesome if you do every single fight from the original in a live action format. While I know the new show was going for a darker tone, I’m not sure they completely thought this aspect through.
