Faceless Model Shoot:
The guy in these photos is my friend Anthony Rodrigues. We call him A-Rod or Rod. He is definitely not a model. We had to pose him for every picture. He kept on saying how he was “a great non-face model”! He’s loves attention and loves to laugh. So, this shoot was really fun. He is really awkward and funny and a one of a kind friend.
He is a super big dork and loves to make dum jokes. I’ve known him for a little over a year. He is a crew chief at Barksdale Air force Base. He moved here almost two years ago form San Diego. He loves the south, but says it is a lot different than Cali. My best friend Paige, him and me were like the three amigos… Then they started dating. But we still hang out all the time.
The girl in these pictures is my friend Lauren Philips. She is absolutely gorgeous and loves to model. So she was the obvious choice for this project. She is actually starting to model professionally. She is super fun and animated and NEVER runs out of poses.
I met Lauren over six years ago, but we just recently started hanging out. She has a really big and interesting personality. She loves to laugh obnoxiously loud at really stupid things. She is one of the wildest most confident and open people I have ever met. She doesn’t care what anybody thinks but at the same time she is extremely considerate.
This was a really interesting project. It was really fun to go out and shoot with my friends. At first they were kind of freaked out at the sound of taking “Faceless Portraits”. But they did great once I explained it. I anticipated the project being harder than it actually was. I think it all depends on location. I showered Pinterest for ideas and didn’t end up using any of them.
If I had to do this again I would bring some props and things to make some more personable, one of a kind photos. If i had more time and resources I could really take some cool shots that accurately portrayed their personalities. But at the same time, I think taking photos is not just a way for you to portray your life but to be anyone you want to be.
