i honestly forget that autism mums say 'autism won today' to mean like their kid had a meltdown and that they are ableist. like nooo autism win means something like i found something cool out about my special interest or i managed to avoid a meltdown or i got to infodump!!!!! autism win is good!!!!!!

sometimes i feel like people forget autism is a disability. and that鈥檚 not a bad thing! i鈥檓 all for disability acceptance, im proud of my disabilities. but i feel like we forget autism can hurt.
it hurts that i have to put more time and energy into socializing than others.
it hurts when i need to move so bad, usually cause im overwhelmed by either my surroundings or emotions, that i thrash and hurt myself.
it hurts that i cant be in places that are too loud or too bright, which on bad days can be as simple as a small, quiet noise or dim lights.
it hurts that i struggle to tell when im hungry, thirsty, tired, etc. so i can鈥檛 properly take care of myself. it doesn鈥檛 help my insomnia and i get very nauseas and get UTIs.
i 100% believe in autism acceptance. i don鈥檛 want a cure. but i also want us the acknowledge that it can hurt. it doesn鈥檛 mean my entire life will hurt, but some parts will. and i want a community where we can see both sides, see the hurt, and celebrate it anyway.

Zach Aguilar, the VA for Aether. He was playing minecraft yesterday on youtube livestream and setting up an smp for himself and other Genshin VAs (they hadn't joined yet so he was taking time to get used to the game). At the end of the stream, after he got blown up by a creeper, someone in his chat suggested he ask Dream for help learning the newer version gameplay and he laughs and says 'Sure, let me just call Dream on my phone!' since he'd been texting people on it during his stream.
I worried his chat would get negative about dream but there was just a few 'dream mention not clickbait' jokes and then chat and Zach moved on to another topic. Now i can't tell tone well, but it seemed pretty neutral-positive so there's that.
this is beautiful the world is truly healing
