it's decided. I'll be keeping this url, but I really do believe I'll be moving blogs. I might have to drop threads to keep things clean, and I'm going to be much more selective. If this bothers you, I completely understand anyone who chooses to unfollow/softblock whatever you do
I'm not moving yet! I've still got a lot to do on the new blog, so threads, starters, and the like will continue here until it's finished <3

Zelda is in the middle when it comes to sweet
She does enjoy something sweet at the end of a busy day, but sweets aren't her favorites, when compared to something like lettuce, or tomatoes, or the natural sweetness of fruits. Chocolate, which is considered a precious commodity, is something she doesn't partake in often.
Though she does love baking chocolate cakes, and cookies for the guards, and staff on Sundays, as a thank you for their hard work.
Her specialty in baking, is pies. Thus far, no one has achieved the pure balance of sweetness in a pie, not anyone in Hyrule. Her pies are truly a delight, and she just has so much fun making them that she often makes too much.
Once again, any extra is given away, whether to guards, staff, or sometimes she invites civilians to the castle for a nice treat. Food is a passion to her, in creating it. She can't handle things that are too sweet.
Her favorite chocolate is dark chocolate, as its a bit more bitter.

"I suppose there are some things that will always be lost to time."
A child's wonderment was one of those things. She could recall rainy autumns like this, how as a child, she'd hunt for frogs. It was completely against her father's wishes, but she didn't care. The princess idly twirls her umbrella, taking one more glance at the sky, as her head shakes.
"I do apologize, I was just reminiscing."
Upon her face, remained a graceful smile. Zelda knew she had to focus on the here and now, for the sake of her people. Her country. Rain could be beautiful, when it wasn't a storm, or a downpour.
"I think the Autumn Grass is in the eastern part of the fields. You are more than welcome to accompany me, if you would like to see them. They truly are such beautiful flowers."

"I am certain that with some practice, you could become quite good at anything. Correct me if I am wrong, but you seem the type who could learn anything that truly caught your interest."
Heels continue to sound against the stone flooring. She wasn't leading him to just any kitchen, oh no. Sora would be getting the royal treatment, an invitation to Zelda's own room. He was so thoughtful, she just had to return the favor, so it was a must that he have the best accommodations!
Down the hall she leads, until they come across a door. A door that had been beautifully painted. She opened the door, and lead Sora inside.
Tumblr media
"Please, do make yourself comfortable. This is my room in the castle."
It was a massive room, with its own kitchen. To the western part of the room, a window, with a cushioned seat. Near that, a large bed, which had coverings that matched Zelda's dress. Even her nightgowns were a shade of purple. The princess had two closets. One with regular clothes, and the biggest one, which held a dress for every day of the week. All of them the same design, down to the letter.
It was tradition, hence why she called it her traditional dress. She was not to be seen without wearing it, unless she was wearing her ball gown.
"Do you have any preferences?"
He couldn't help the little skip in his heart, and perk of his eyes and lips as she laughed. Ah, it was so nice!
So he was already in a good mood as she spoke, nodding on occasion to show he was listening. He knew some people liked to cook, so that wasn't so unusual- he just, you know, assumed a princess wouldn't be one of them.
Tumblr media
"Huh," he said in response to her explanation, then grinned. "Okay! In that case, I'd love to!"
Not just because he was getting hungry (which he was) but because he'd take any excuse to spend more time with her.
He fell into step beside her, still holding onto the basket and letting her lead the way.
"I can't really cook," he confessed, moreso to keep the conversation going. "I can chop vegetables, but that's about it." He rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand. "I tried a few times, but I can't seem to get the times right."
He could also make rice in a rice cooker and use a microwave, but of course couldn't mention those.

Of all the other Sages, not counting Impa, who has been her caretaker since birth, Zelda is closest to Darunia. They both love music, they both love to dance. He's definitely a brotherly figure to her. She loves him dearly, as family. He's very helpful with trade negotiations. In exchange for soft fabric, the Gorons offer bombs, which is where Castle Town receives its supply of bombs to sell.
This isn't to say she isn't on wonderful terms with the other Sages. Just that she can talk to him about things she can't really talk to anyone else about. Though few, there are things she can come to him about, that she can't even tell Impa.

"The world can be a scary place. That is the exact reason I took up potion brewing."
Now, like any beginner, she had a long way to go. But it wasn't without fun, messing around with different ingredients. Not unlike cooking! These ingredients were much different, and it was a real adventure to collect them. That was what she'd invited him to do.
"Do you see those red flowers, how they look like tulips? They only grow in the cold season, and they have great properties in terms of aiding wound recovery."

"Time is a strange thing. It can heal, it can hurt."
Words spoken from the Sage of Time herself. Time didn't just heal wounds, it left emotional scars. Fears, that may not have been there should a different situation occur. Her thoughts are on the kingdom, and how she'd behaved as a child. How it was her doing, that Hyrule came to ruin.
That was something she rarely admitted.
There's a shake of the head, as she pushes herself to smile. Her birthday was only days away, she should have been happy. Another year closer to having full decision making over kingdom affairs. That was when she could really start to do more good for not just Hyrule, but its neighboring countries.
Zelda pushes herself to smile.
"I was just curious, do you know anything about mushrooms? I have read, that some mushrooms have healing properties when boiled into a potion."

"It feels so dark when there is a storm."
Storms were when she felt the pulse of darkness more strongly than any other time. It wasn't strong enough to break the seal, not while she was alive. However, it still brought an extreme discomfort at the thoughts of those seven years.
The princess was under the cover of a shop's front opening. Better to wait, rather than get soaked on the way back. So what if she could use magic? It was more important to learn how to function without it, as right now, Zelda was still young. Once she reached older age, her magic would definitely not be what it used to be.
The woman turns, only then coming to realize that someone, other than the shopkeeper, was standing there. Or, she believed it wasn't the shop keeper.
"I do apologize if I have caused a disturbance. I was just... reminiscing."
So many memories. Zelda had little trouble smiling, bittersweet as it was.
"In any case, did you need me to move?"

Prayer is being offered, the mark of the Triforce glowing on her right hand. Zelda offered prayer every single day, without fail, to the Goddesses. The autumn breeze blew her long, golden hair, as she stood. Stood underneath the tree that she, and Link once talked under during childhood.
It was still a very special place to her.
It was late afternoon, the sun would be setting any moment. As her prayer came to an end, the woman looked up at the sky. The moon, it always brought her peace. Memories, oh, how they could make her smile. Maybe she'd visit the forest tonight, what the counsel didn't know would not hurt them.
As far as they knew, she was in the Temple of Time.
That was her exact plan, as she moves, as fluid and graceful as the Goddesses themselves. It couldn't hurt to spend a little time reminiscing now, could it?

"I do apologize, but there is not much to be seen here. The downtown area is still under heavy reconstruction."
Zelda was watching over it, as to make sure everyone was safe. That was her prime goal. Buildings could be replaced, a worker's health could not as easily be aided. The woman was welcoming, nonetheless, a smile across her face. Someday, Castle Town would be the bustling city it once was.
"In the meantime, is there anything I can help you with?" She holds out her dress, and bows. Proper greeting, for a royal. "I am this country's princess. I would be more than pleased to accommodate you."

"I envy you. I have only been allowed to visit neighboring countries, ordinarily. To travel is not something a princess has the opportunity for, not very often. I have so much paperwork that really must get done on the daily. I am not even supposed to be here, however, I really did need to get out of that castle. Even if only for a few short moments."
Zelda had no problems following him. With perfect, fluid movement, the princess looks at the buildings. Such different architecture! Would Hyrule be like this in the future?
"You are such a kindhearted young man, I am very grateful to have run into you. Everything here is so tall! I just adore it."
Maybe he could teach her a little about how buildings worked, as they were clearly made from brick, or metal. Homes in Castle Town were often made out of actual stone, or marble. They looked much different by comparison.
"I do hope I can find a way to repay you for this."
Only an hour? Well no wonder she seemed so lost and didn't have a clue where she was. A person could go a long ways in just an hour but the neighborhood could be confusing to strangers. There had been quite a few times when people couldn't find their way out of the collection of modern houses. Something the boy and his friends were usually happy to help with. Just like he was now.
Even his smile widened at their conversation. It seemed they had a few things in common and he was all too happy to talk about them.
"I like to travel to, especially on family trips or even just with my friends. We tend to visit England a lot since that's where some of our family lives, but I've been all over the world."
But he had never heard of Hyrule before and made a mental note to look it up after it was mentioned again. Maybe it would help him find what company she worked for, or if they even traveled with some Renaissance Faires. He still didn't believe she was a real princess. Not that it was that farfetched but merely because of the season.
Tumblr media
"I hope so too, it sounds like an amazing place. Real top-notch if everyone is as committed to the bit as you are. And I think Castle Town is a perfect name. It really lets you know what you're in for. Assuming you guys have a real castle I mean, or at least a convincing one."
He talked as they walked, always excusing himself as he pushed past a crowd or in front of someone there on the sidewalks. They were definitely drawing attention, but mostly of awe.

That brought her joy.
Music was a powerful language, with something that everyone could understand. You didn't have to be skilled to know if you liked the way something sounded. It was a way for entire generations to come together as one. Zelda watched, rather excited to hear someone else sing for a change, as usually, it was others asking her to sing for them.
The princess didn't mind, she loved singing. But it was nice to hear someone else sing for her sometimes.
Tumblr media
"Oh... I loved that."
Words spoken once he stopped. It was quite terrible in terms of skill, but in terms of expression? She could feel him so much better from that. To Zelda, that made singing beautiful. When you poured your heart into what you sang. Anyone who could express themselves through singing, had the potential to sound typically beautiful.
"Thank you so much."
The sincerity, and honesty in her words should have spoken volumes.
"Perhaps I could teach you some skills, and technique someday. But please, never doubt your voice. Sometimes singing conveys a truth that the spoken word cannot."
Tumblr media
She most certainly continued to prove her point as she further detailed that her ability to sing was not spontaneously given to her but the result of her hardwork and the encouragement from those around her- It wasn't as if she was a famous singer, she sang for her own enjoyment and for the enjoyment of others. And what was this moment if not for them and them alone? It wasn't as if anyone else was going to come across them during this moment, so now should be the best time to make mistakes.
"...I used to hear old songs played every now and then. Transmissions on the radio, it used to be the same three or four songs. I could never keep the rhythm up when I tried to sing along, but my mom thought it was pretty adorable."
Taking an deep inhale and letting out a long exhale, he would mentally attempt to prepare himself for what would be a comparatively new experience for him. His eyes would focus on Zelda's face, keeping in mind her words as he silently prepared himself to deal with the embarrassment he would feel seconds away.
"Okay, here I go."
And then he would give his most honest attempt at a song. It was expectedly far from good, his singing was off key, the volume was all over the place, and his voice would crack as it went to ranges he had never attempted before. His attempt lasts no more than a couple minutes, and when he finishes, he's red in the face. But he can at least take pride in the fact he committed rather than backing down and not being too conscious of how he'd sound to even give it a try. It was bad and out of his comfort zone, but he did it.

Of course she would lead him. There was a lot to say! So as they walked together, Zelda chose to explain every detail to the best of her ability.
"The Lost Woods are a special place. It is nearby the Kokiri Forest, where the Kokiri live. It is easy to get lost, and is said that, should you, you will turn into a skeleton warrior known as a Stalfos. Now, we would not want that, would we? But if you listen to the spirits sing to you, they will guide you on every path, until you arrive at the Sacred Forest Meadow."
The queen gave his hand a little squeeze, as they traveled across Hyrule Field.
"I do assure, I will never let any trouble befall you. We will stay close together, no matter what. A dear, dear friend of mine, the... oh..."
It just dawned on her. She hadn't explained the nature of the Sages yet!
"Well."
Zelda brushed it off for the moment.
"I will explain when we get there."
The Lost Woods. He had heard that teem a time or two in this land. Never quite enough to know what it was, though, it had certainly peaked his interest. He was, after all, a forest elf. Anything dealing with nature especially something as unique as the Lost Woods gace him a desire to explore it.
A smile, a squeeze of her hand. "I would love that." It was her that he know allowed to lead the way. As he hadn't any idea where it's location was. "I've heard people talk about it. Not enough to know much, however." A tilt of his head in curiosity. "Perhaps you would be so kind to enlighten me, my queen?" Rather she decided to or wait to let him see for himself he had a feeling he'd have a better understanding.
The rain didn't let up but wasn't uncomfortable as they left through the gates of the city. Hyrule Field at this point becoming a familiar sight but not yet well navigated by him.

Need of the Master Sword?
Tumblr media
"Might I ask that you elaborate as to why?"
She had a fairly good idea, her Hyrule had once been in need of a hero with the Master Sword. Her worry increased ten fold, and though she remained calm, that concern was evident in her eyes. Perhaps, even in her voice. It had to be a very important situation, whatever it was.
"I am afraid I cannot imagine how it would be found in the Lost Woods."
Link couldn't help but give a frown at her words. Door of Time? That wasn't something he had heard of.
Tumblr media
"I... had heard it was in the Lost Woods." He stated. Although now he was questioning the information. Then again, this place was a very odd place, and this wasn't his princess. Perhaps he landed somewhere the Master Sword didn't reside in the middle of a forest.
"It is what I'm looking for. I have need of it."
