The main theme of this episode is separation and harsh reality intervening and crashing down on Mu Deok and Wook’s relationship just when they’ve realised they care for each other. Until now, they lived in their own little bubble - two outcasts and underdogs no one gave a damn about, but now Wook has become the hot commodity and bright star everyone wants a piece of and to bask in his light.

He has always been rich, handsome and noble, but now he is even powerful and power attracts. He stops being a pariah, yet she stays being Mu Deok - the lowborn personal servant he bought himself from a brothel. The realisation first hits Mu Deok after their sweet embrace especially hard because Wook always treats her as his equal, sometimes even with a hint of reverence as his master, not once has he made her aware she might be someone lesser. She has grown used to his gentle smiles and tender touches, grown accustomed to his sweet embraces. As a result, whenever they are alone she leaves out the honorifics, speaks to him intimately and calls him by his name, just like when she wants to give him the raisin tree pill, but she abruptly stops herself because Maidservant Kim is there, calling him by his title, and there is something tragic in the way Mu Deok corrects herself and a hint of sadness in her eyes as her smile disappears as she begins to comprehend the divide between her and Wook even before the walls of Songrim separate him from her.

And then, when she begins to doubt herself and their relationship, Wook, in his typical fashion, throws away all the expectation society has of him and immediately shares that precious pill with his Mu Deok. He is so incredible soft with her, taking care of her in all these different ways, and no one has ever been soft with her since her family died, except for Yul but that was such a brief time in her childhood while now, she is an adult woman.

That said, Daeho is not some modern haven of equality, it may be magical but the caste system still rules the society - a society where five powerful mage families rules and consolidate their power through constant intermarriages, just like any real world royalty or nobility, a society where a nobleman doesn’t normally marry his lowborn maid.

The literal wall that separates them only serves as a symbol for all the figurative obstacles keeping them apart. Now, Yun Ok appears - the perfect bride material from the perfect family, with perfect pedigree and physically resembling his dead mother - she is yet another remainder of the divide between Wook and Mu Deok, of what Wook life would have looked like if his father didn’t cut off his energy. The moment he escapes one marriage of convenience, Heo Yeom tries to force him into another, regardless of his feelings on the matter.

Wook and Mu Deok embody the ultimate star-crossed lovers: a man of noble birth who falls in love not merely with his lowborn servant, but with a murderous soul-shifting assassin who happens to be the biggest enemy of the kingdom and whose mere existence is considered a sin against nature, ergo their love is a sin. Moreover, she is older than him, is his teacher and he is her master who bought her; and if that all weren’t enought she is on borrowed time and can die on him any moment.

In the end, it’s them against the whole world, and Wook’s heated conversation with Park Jin and his defiance reveal to what lengths he is willing to go to protect Mu Deok and be with her. If he ends up being a pariah again and a sinner in the process, so be it, he can live with it, as long as he can spend that life with her.

theory on why kavin and kaning dont have much screentime

I’m not completely sure but I don’t think the second lead couple (in f4 thai’s case, kavin and kaning) end up together at the end of the hana yori dango. f4 thailand is moreso based on this version, so...

what if our k2 couple dont have screentime so we dont get too attached to them because they wont end up together in the end 😳 😳

Why The Best Part About Ep. 7 Isn’t Even Thyme and Gorya.

I know that the episode was mainly meant to resolve the conflict between Thyme and Gorya but by the end of it, I was far more focused on how that episode really highlighted the rest of the F4 characters individually. We already know that MJ, Kavin, and Ren are important to Thyme but for the first time, the audience actually learns more about their separate values and their maturity.

• MJ being the true glue of F4 and trying to amend their friendship when no one else wanted to.

• Kavin helping Kaning get closure after her break-up and finally showing his soft side.

• Ren (literally carrying the whole episode) provoking Thyme to admit he loves Gorya, also being the one to ground him and assuring him he’s on the right track.

F4 Thailand did not disappoint with the F4 boys. They’re not just side characters who go along with the main character’s behaviour, they live their own lives and make their own decisions which is really what gives the show so much depth and distinguishes it from a cliché perfect romance story. More appreciation for MJ, Kavin, and Ren!!

Today I woke up thinking about Narnia. I don’t know why, I haven’t read or watched it in years.

But I woke up thinking about how the four siblings lived an entire life in Narnia. How the grew up and changed and made friends and probably fell in love, and how this kingdom in the back of a wardrobe became their home and the real world faded so much they forgot about it, forgot about the lamp that greeted them on entry.

They lived this life that they’d built and saved and then all of a sudden… it was gone. Back through the wardrobe as children again and a wall behind them as if narnia had never been there.

What the books don’t say is that Lucy went back to it time and time again, sometimes silently waiting, hoping, sometimes screaming and slamming her hands against it calling for her friends, for the lion that she’d put all her faith in only to have it ripped away.

What it doesn’t say is that Peter never really lost the air of being the high king, and hated the injustice he saw even as a teenager but couldn’t do anything about - because no one in this world would listen to him.

What it doesn’t say is Edmund knew he had the capacity to be true and good, but he also felt betrayed for it being taken from him, and as much as he tried he felt he never lived up to it again.

And it doesn’t say is that Susan never forgot. She just knew that Narnia had kept her heart when they left and she never got it back; by the time they got back, years had passed and she’d been forgotten, but she never forgot the person she’d loved, now only dust in the wind. She learnt not to trust Narnia with any else again.

What it doesn’t talk about is the shock of being young then old then young again, kings and queens then children, listened to then silenced. It doesn’t say how they had to relearn who they were, with memories that didn’t belong in this world.

It didn’t say which was worse; remember the life they’d lived and loved, or slowly forgetting it as if it was a game and nothing more

I know, I was shoketh. I am glad we have reached a point in history when Thyme the antagonist earned his place in our heart as the protagonist.

he really turned around and did what none of the other versions could produce, someone capable of reflection and actually asking for forgiveness and admitting fault, taking responsibility. it looks good on him. even when he is stressed, thinking he could go to jail, I love that he sees it as consequences of his actions and is prepared to accept whatever may come! its the kind of innocence I always adored about him, that now transpires to the surface and he becomes the best version of himself.

not enough people are screaming about this.

what?

I mean aren't apologies a way of compensating for guilt and asking for forgiveness a way to achieve atonement? but it also frees the victim. it's a funny thing that. I am not knocking apologies by the way. like I literally went and did 70+ amends lol for my past sins few years ago and I feel like a new person for it. some of those people I had to repair the damage indirectly - becuase seeing them would cause more harm. don't ask what I did. I promise I am not Thyme villain. ahahahaha.

something magical happened though once I allowed myself to be seen from the POV of another person. it's healing, too. but not for everyone. NGL some of that shit could be highly traumatic for a victim of physical assault.

there is no easy way to wrap up or neatly tie up this narrative. but I like that the atonement episode is leaving viewer asking important questions.

and that's the best part of a drama, when you're left questioning things. some outrage is necessary to provoke you as the best method to get you to care. i.e. polemics and dilemmas and moral conundrums are what we watch dramas for, right?

the good ones anyway.

you know we give Thyme so much shit, but Ren, MJ and Kavin are complicit and like I said in my weekly run down, silence IS violence.

I fully am prepared that the next remake will include all the boys seeking to atone for their sins.

please allow me to go biblical (no way am I religious although I may have tried 3+ religions in my lifetime).

Talay makes a good point about going back to the original, i.e. Thyme's actions are just carbon copy of his mother's.

which to me represents the whole things about original sin - like how do you get the machine to stop? how do you return back to clean slate, back to innocence? how do you open up the gates of hell and trace your way back to -

does anyone know any easy to use computer editing programs where i can put clips together and add text/subtitles easily?

i have after effects but i know its hella complicated but you can put colouring there so maybe its worth it :( i might just use capcut
