hey, not to sound obnoxious but could you guys help out an anxious college student with medical needs real quick?
I need about $50 for small medical things, including melatonin, bandages and gauze (for some medical stuff that I’ve been dealing with for a few months now), and alcohol swabs. Anything you could spare would help immensely, as right now my family is going through a tough financial spot.
My Ko-Fi link is in my bio!
if you could spare even five bucks that’d be a major help. Thank you!

One of the best and worst feelings in the world is fully outlining your fic and then thinking of even more intricate ways to weave things together and make the entire story more thematically significant.
On the one hand it sucks, because there’s always gonna be that feeling of crap am I squeezing too much into this like it’s only 10 chapters and I’m not tryna make people write a fucking book report
But on the other hand it’s amazing!! Because it really does mean that your skills with writing and analysis are reaching new heights, and that your imagination gears are actually turning!
Hold onto that feeling, writers, and remember that you are writing for YOU, man. Make your story as awesome as you want!

STAN THIS
The End
The End by VBSH
Two years ago, when Nagisa was still safely wrapped in youth and friendship, he learned what betrayal meant. Under the light of the moon, the wind pulling playfully at his long hair, he looked his only friend in the eyes as his heart was torn out and split in two.
“I don’t trust you,” golden eyes regarded him blankly, “not one bit.” ========= Or: that night when Nagisa and Karma were still thirteen and close friends, and how it all came to an end.

what’s YOUR outline process? Just wondering. It’s a tough thing to master in my experience
I don’t usually make outlines for oneshots, but for chaptered fics I definitely do. It honestly took me a few years to figure out my process (I’ve been writing for a long time), but by now I have a pretty hard-nailed way to do it. Here are the basic steps:
Establish key themes.
After deciding on the genre (that’s normally how it starts - fluff/smut/angst etc.), I try to define (with words) what themes I want to appear in the story. Often these are how I get ideas for the plot, as I’ve found to be the case with most writers. Betrayal, self-identity, motivational issues, and shyness are some themes to look for in upcoming stories!
Write out character insights.
If characters that I’m writing don’t have clear motivations, it’s hard for me to write them well. This is especially true for characters that are mostly meant to be projections. Link (Breath of the Wild) and Nagisa (Assassination Classroom) are two good examples of this. Even when I’m writing OCs to put into stories, they need clear arcs. I try to write out (again, in words)(I cant express how important that is when planning a story lol) where I want the characters to be at the beginning and end of the story.
Create (a) “brainstorm page(s)”.
I sometimes take up multiple pages to flush this out in scribbles of notes. Often these are story elements, character arcs, character ideas/sketches. I love lists, so a lot of these pages have bulleted lists, mind maps, and relationship trees. When I’m done with my BOTW murder mystery, I’ll happily share some of these notes. :)
Make a chapter outline.
Chapter outlines! These took a while for me to get the hang of. By now, I’ve learned that if I say “I want this story to fit into 20 chapters” and then try to fit my story into 20 chapters, the plot gets rushed at the end. Instead, I effectively write out the story in bullet-list form (again with the lists), and cut them into segments (chapters) where the story has appropriate pauses. This way, although the chapter structure isn’t symmetrical, it does tell the story in a complete and satisfying way, for both me and for those who read my stories. At the top of each chapter segment, I put a note of what I want to happen in said section of the story.
And then...y’know...
I have to write it.
Tends to be the hard part, dunnit.

Reblogging to let you know that I haven’t forgotten about Royal Colors I swear. I don’t realistically have time to write much nowadays, but I’m getting there!
Happy Fanfic Writer Friday (#FFWF)! What's your longest oneshot about? How about your longest multi-chapter fic?
My longest oneshot is definitely my Breath of the Wild fanfic Navigating (14,066 words). It’s about Link trying to come to terms with the fact that Zelda seems completely at peace with herself after being freed from the Calamity, which sucks, because Link still feels totally lost within himself. It’s honestly probably my favorite oneshot of mine that’s published on ao3 right now.
My longest chaptered story is currently Royal Colors (16,124 words, 3 chapters thus far), an Assassination Classroom fanfic, although at the moment it’s unfinished. I haven’t forgotten about it, don’t worry (to those of you who are reading it). I’m just more focused on my Zelda fics as of now. I have plans for it still. It’s an AU where Class A is ordered to participate in a tutoring program with Class E - and Asano is Karma’s tutor. I really like the Karushuu ship so I’m still excited to do more with it.

Karma’s codename: a brief Japanese lesson
So, there’s still a bit of confusion within the fandom as to Karma’s nickname during the cops and robbers game. Given to him by Hazama, the direct Japanese is 中二半, chuuniban. The official translation is something like “half of middle two” or “semi senioritis”, neither of which make any sense, even if “half of middle two” is a very literal translation. (note: i don’t blame the translation teams for this. It’s like, impossible to explain in a short frame of time)
Let Livi explain some Japanese slang to you.
The phrase “chuunibyou” is what I would personally translate as “middle schooler 2nd year syndrome”. To put it simply, it means a boy (usually age 13/14) who thinks they’re it, basically. They’ve read too much shounen jump manga and now they think they’re Naruto incarnate. They have this sense that they’re a protagonist, and they’re soooo important. But not in a heroic way, in a dumb arrogant and annoying to literally everyone else complex way that’s sure to make you cringe when you grow out of it.
Yeah, it’s kind of an insult.
The joke is that Karma is like that (which is kind of true, if you pay attention to his speech patterns). He acts like he thinks he’s the protagonist of an anime. HOWEVER, he does it in a half assed way, because he’s a lazy character. He has protag “i’m so cool” complex but he’s a lazy ass.
I appreciate it’s a little less funny when you have to explain it so much, but it does make me laugh. And yes, whilst the phrase is specifically “2nd year”, it can still be applied to other ages. It’s more a state of being than anything else.

The Couple Games by amuhseen
My first attempt at crack.
What started out as a normal football game ended up as a battle to determine who has the best significant other.
This is inspired by ‘The Great Boyfriend Debate’ by doujinzii. If you’re a Haikyuu!! fan, you should totally check it out because it is a masterpiece that should be displayed in the Louvre.

Hmm, what about Group 4 as parents?
Karma: The Fun parent, generally easygoing, doesn’t even act like a parent sometimes, more like a big sibling especially as the kid gets older, protective but would prefer his kids to grow up and mature by learning how to deal with things themselves too, but he’ll always be there for them, usually is the one to create chaos and have fun, doesn’t mind if things are a mess
Okuda: The Quirky parent, she’s the absolute sweetest but goes about things in unconventional ways, science is a big thing and she’ll always teach her kids about it, encourages open communication but she’s still a bit insecure about it, involves her kids in everything, like she makes chores and eating vegetables look cool so then they do it, is a bit clingy to her kids sometimes but never too much, she just loves them so much
Kanzaki: The Chill Parent, she’s super lenient about everything, encourages her kids to speak their mind, she never ever tries to force anything onto them, when they’re little she reads to them all the time, literature is big in their household, video games are also big, she plays them a lot with her kids and it’s so much fun, she doesn’t seem super protective but she’ll give the scariest smile to any PTA moms who tell her how to parent
Nagisa: The Responsible Parent. He’s such a good dad omg. He’s so patient and understanding with his kids, always. He acts like a teacher a lot haha, and tries to teach them many different things. He’s slightly protective and might go a bit overboard in making sure they’re safe sometimes, but it’s always out of love.
Kayano: The Best Friend Parent. She’s a mix of fun, chill, and responsible. She’s the kind of mom who will suggest dessert before dinner. She will always listen to her kids and help them solve problems in the best way she can. All her kids’ friends love hanging out with her too. She also makes sure to style her kids well, and make sure they always look presentable. She’s still super protective of them though, and would kill a bitch if they look at her kids wrong. She also boasts about them often lmao.
Sugino: The Awesome Parent. God, he’d be a great dad :’). He’s really big on sports and nature, so he takes his kids out for a lot of activities. Camping and bug-hunting are their faves. He’s such a cuddly parent, and is always lifting them up, hugging them, etc when they’re small. He makes cheesy jokes just to see his kids cringe and laugh at him. Is really good at defusing fights between his kids, knows how to discipline the right way. He never raises his voice at them or lets them see him when he’s upset. Makes pancakes for dinner and spoils them so much.
