Long Post: Reposted Fics

Warning that this is a long post, but one I feel is necessary. As fanfic writers, we work hard and it’s come to my attention that a Wattpad user has been reposting the work of SEVERAL Tumblr writers without permission, including 4 of my own Game of Thrones fics. I’m not okay with this, and I know other writers won’t be either! They do give credit to the writers by linking their blogs, but that does not grant permission to repost fics.

In the last 24 hours, 4 other people have commented on the book or posted on this user’s profile and I sent them a private message with no response. Some of these writers may have given the user permission to repost their fics, but I certainly didn’t! I will post the user’s name at the end of the post so that the Tumblr writers I tag can go and see the work that has been taken from them, most likely without permission.

Okay so I just discovered your blog and saw the post with the inconsiderate anon. Honestly, even if you updated once every six months, readers shouldn’t be like this. They are lucky to have you writing them fics, they are lucky that they have a reading source without the expensive costs. Instead of complaining and whining that anon should be praising and encouraging it. By the way, your writing is amazing and I’m in love with your work.
